  1. Usually 11 games in means we've now played everyone once, except obviously this time we've played the Dhims twice whilst still waiting to play Murderwell. Anyway, it's a bit unfortunate really to be in the situation i've just described above as playing that horrible bastards again has put a different slant on how it looked previous to meeting them for the 2nd time. My opinion of the season so far is we're pretty much where i expected (pre Dhims game). I'm very pleased with our goalkeeper and our defence has options and O'Connor has been just as big a success as Joe in goals. The midfield has been given a new lease of life with our young loanee, he seems to make everyone around him step up their level a degree or so. Unfortunately he wasn't on the pitch the same time as McGinn on Sat so unsure if even he'd have been able to make McGinn produce a decent performance against his previous employers... i doubt it tho. Up front we've more options but McInnes doesn't like to venture far from the tried and tested route, so Rooney up top on his own is still the norm. To summarise i think the team are doing pretty well, we've got a cup final to look forward to. With the exception of the Manky Mob i think we're better than everyone else but still struggle to prove it at times, therefore i think we'll struggle in to 2nd. McInnes is very loyal to certain players meaning others don't get the chance they probably deserve. He has got us to the first cup final of the year and signed a couple of quality players so i'm going to give him and the team a..... B+ Thoughts?
  2. Being almost at the end of my 4 weeks offshore i'm ready to plunge into just about anything... (apart from trannies, birds with severe disabilities and actresses from the X-Files) So yes, i'd be willing to give her a dirrell.... as long as she took that bag off her heid.
  3. Cheers for that summary Chris. It annoys me when folk say that regardless of the refs performance we should still have had enough to win. Maybe so but we're always going to have an off night at some point and his decisions cost us our unbeaten run and a point. As soon as his name comes up you just know there's going to be some controversy.
  4. I think i'm going to have to review Deeks lofty position at No.2 on my list after tonights disappointment. What is the point in having a squad if you're not going to use it?
  5. Hard one to answer this knowing that it's a bloke. If i didn't know i'd be right in aboot but i do and homo humping is defo not for me so it's a no!
  6. I reckon i could beat that for boring Buc. A few months ago me, the Mrs and the kids were in a nice restaurant down at Pitlochery and with our wine we got a big glass bottle of water which had came out a near freezing fridge. It had one of those Grolsch style caps attached and i don't know what it was about it but the water tasted better than the wine. Bought myself one as soon as i got home and it gets presented on the dinner table every night along with supper. Water defo tastes better like that. Word of warning tho... don't srink too much of the stuff or it could kill ye.
  7. I wouldn't want to see too many changes but i would like to try and save Maddison for the weekend. I don't like our players playing on that plastic pitch (although we obviously done well at Killie). With Jack being back stick him in and give Maddison a seat on the bench for this one is how i'd play it.
  8. It's a no no no no for me. Very interesting choice tho. It's got me thinking that cupidstunt is nae right in the heed.
  9. With the news Ally MacLeod is to be inducted into the AFC Hall of Fame it had me wondering where he would rank in a rating of our managers over the last 40 years of which there have been 14 full time managers. I'm only a youthful 45 so don't remember Ally before being Scotland manager. Of the 15 who'd be your top 3 and worst 3? I've obviously got a bit of time and ranked them all. Ally MacLeod 6 Billy McNeill 5 Alex Ferguson 1 Ian Porterfield 9 Alex Smith and Jocky Scott 3 Willie Miller 4 Roy Aitken 7 Alex Miller 13 Ebbe Skovdahl 10 Steve Paterson 12 Jimmy Calderwood 8 Mark McGhee 14 Craig Brown 11 Derek McInnes 2
  10. I'm obviously fussier than i thought i was.... I've never seen the attraction in Scully. I probably would but... i would find it difficult to drum up the enthusiasm to get fired in. If i had a few pints before hand we could be in for a long uninspiring unhappy event.
  11. Players with normal legs instead of these ones that pollute the game now with their legs that collapse at the slightest touch. The awarding of free kicks every 15 secs drives me insane. I'd also like to see the return of sit where you like stands. The South Stand was great back in the 80's imo. Someone mentioned shirts with no names, i also preferred the old 1 to 11 numbering system. You knew where a player was supposed to be playing due to the number on his back.
  12. In/out ~ Out Furryboots ~ Managed to get a swap on to day shift so i'll be glued to ByTheMinuteAFC on Twitter Pre-Match ~ Up on the ships heli-beach (deli-deck) getting a bit of sun After-Match ~ Still on shift till midnight Prediction ~ For me to have a final to look forward to when i'm home
  13. I tend to disagree about needing someone from outside Scottish football. I'm not saying all foreigners are going to turn out as useless at Bertie but i reckon they'd all be inclined to go down the same route as he did, and indeed Strachan, and pick anyone in the English leagues who's heard of Scotland. The Scottish leagues are given so little credit outside of Scotland any non-Scot is not going to consider home based players.
  14. While i agree that water is good for you but like everything else it should be consumed in moderation. Apparently too much water can kill ye! https://familyshare.com/20723/3-reasons-why-drinking-too-much-water-is-bad-for-you
  15. The word 'squished'.... I don't remember that word at all when i was growing up. If something got stuck between two things then it was 'squashed', but it seems my kids and my Mrs describe all squashed things as being squished. Am i wrong?
  16. Was never any better than pub league, played for a team in the Port Elphinstone part of Inverurie called SV Porto, the SV stood for Soccer Violence. Also played in the 7 a-side business league in Inverurie until i got my cruciate ligament snapped for me, actually it was more a Roy Keane style snapping as it was me going in mad / stupid. Was only 24 and never played again, was gutted.
  17. Jesus min! I gave you a Simmie as soon as i'd read the Willie Miller comment then i read on to the end and now i'm feeling a bit confused about it all..... EDIT to say.... No Buc, i widna be interested in coupin that! Face isna bad but she's bound to be a bit sweaty... nae for me.
  18. When i'm at home it's only ever sport that's on my telly, don't watch anything else. When offshore it's box sets. Right now it's Hell on Wheels season 3 and Narcos season 2.
  19. What a difference it makes when you've got a top keeper. Jim Leighton was my first Dons hero, was absolutely gutted when he left for ManU. Remember being in the West stand at Hampden to see Scotland play Valderamas' Columbia and seeing Leighton being listed as a ManU player in the match programme and he hadn't even played a game for them yet, i was a bit upset at that lol. But then a certain Mr Snelders came along and Jim was just one of my fav ex-players, certainly no longer missed. I'm diversifying but my point is i've always loved a good goalie and i was a massive fan of Danny Ward too, simply because imo he is going to be a top top keeper. Just my opinion but i think the fact Danny was so highly regarded was because he was the one significant change to our line up last season and we finally had a good keeper after so many years of mediocrity and obviously he was a big part of the best ever start to a season for us. It's easy to see why he was held in such high regard.
  20. Cheers for that TC. I know what you're saying about the bog issue, nae the best but i've seen that system in Spain and Mexico, it's certainly nae exclusive to Greece. You mentioned Dubrovnik, that's a place i want to visit as i've heard good things about it. Not sure if it would be best visited as part of a cruise or actually spend a full two weeks there?
  21. Kate Garraway... imo she's the epitome of BOBFOC. Body Off Baywatch Face Off Crimewatch for those unfamilar with the term. I'm not impressed with her coupon at all but her chebs.... Face - no, body - fuck aye!
  22. Being stuck offshore for almost the entire month of October means i miss the Tattie Hols, i go on Facebook and see what seems like ALL my 'friends' away on holiday.... Anyone away just now or soon? And where, if you were asked would you recommend? A few years ago we went to Rhodes 2 years running which is unusual for us but only because we liked it so much the first time. I'd still recommend anyone go there. The Greek folk are so much more welcoming imo, much better than the Spanish who seem to take our custom for granted.
  23. Like all Dandies i'm well disappointed in what's happening with our youth players. In Declan McManus and Cammy Smith i had visions of new Booth and Jess partnership but how wrong could i be?! If Smith was ever going to make the break through he'd have done it by now, and the fact he's now struggling to get a game for a championship side is really disappointing and asks serious questions about him making the grade. As for Shankland... again i had high hopes for him as he seemed a scoring machine at Queens Park. Since he's came to us he seems to have put on a ton of weight. I was sat in the Main Stand for ConsiDONG's testimonial, just above the home dug out and his arse looked massive!!!! I'm surprised he can run at all. It's maybe harsh but i'd let them both go now.
  24. They're building it on a flood plain so that all the kids who bide in the houses that are also built on the flood plain can go to school there and take the pressure of the already crammed schools in Inverurie. It was supposed to be built years ago but all those dodgy building firms slopped it for long enough. You're right though, those big fields flood every year. I know at least two houses had to be taken down again due to subsidence. On topic. I'm a bridge/shift supervisor on an ROV boat.
