  1. I think you can safely miss out the word "presumably"
  2. Maybe the whole of the last two years was a tactical defeat so they can concentrate on winning league 2.
  3. Sevco admit to having not actually spoken to anyone, and are still waiting for someone who actually wants the job to contact them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41949360
  4. Thought he was due to be "unveiled" yesterday? Did I miss it?
  5. w/e 05/11/17: Bruce Anderson (CF) @ Elgin City (L2): 6th start in 6 games and played the full 90, had a couple attempts but no goals as Elgin were beaten 2-0 by Rory McAllister. Connor McLennan (CF) @ Brechin City (CH): First game without a start, came on as a sub after an hour, but couldn't prevent Brechin being beaten 1-0 by Dumbarton.
  6. I would not get as emotive as "great", but you are perhaps being a touch presumptuous to assume nobody but you looks beyond the start of the 21st century. A comparison of last season under Mcinnes against the club's all-time history can be found in the records thread. http://www.donstalk.co.uk/index.php/topic,19320.0.html
  7. That the same McLaughlin that assured everyone Sevco were going to make a move for McInnes last Monday?
  8. Some fresh lines from McInnes to read between. Also, confirmed there has been no contact from Sevco to club or manager. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41852170 Doesn't exactly sound like a man desperate to move on, to me.
  9. Quick summary of last weekend (w/e 28/10/17): Bruce Anderson (CF) @ Elgin City (L2): Grabbed his 4th goal in 5 games in a 4-2 win over Clyde - left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner. Match also featured a certain David Goodwillie, who Bruce allegedly waved to as their careers went past in opposite directions. Connor McLennan (CF) @ Brechin City (CH): 7th start in 7 games for Connor but still no goals, and Brechin still without a win - they were beaten 3-2 by Livingston. Picked up a yellow at the end of the 1st half for an agricultural challenge.
  10. An add-on to this thread: According to the Evening Express (they sort of skip past the fact that 2017 hasn't finished yet) https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/donsnews/this-year-up-with-the-very-bestaberdeens-victory-tally-puts-them-closer-to-1983-legends/
  11. Just noticed this is in OT, I assumed "cheeks burnt after firing rocket" was about Pedro's compensation claim
  12. I doubt it's either - it's far more likely both McInnes and the club are refusing to get drawn into the artificial hysteria being whipped up by the tabloids to sell papers, and are just ignoring the Sevco circus. Despite the press insisting on describing him as a "candidate" rather than a name on a Sevco fan wishlist, there is zero indication that McInnes has applied for the position, or that Sevco have even approached the club. Even the £1.5M figure being bandied about is utterly baseless - the press are just parroting social media speculation by fans for lack of anything real to report. Same goes for the countless pseudo-analytical pieces about whether its the "right time" for him, talk of "stepping up" and other groundless fluff to appease Sevco readerships by pretending its a situation they have any control over. At the moment it's all just a miasma of cringeworthy tabloid sycophancy adding up to a great big shitepile of nothing.
  13. Welcome to the forums kir, I see you've already met our village rocket. I think most folk on here are pretty aware of the reality of modern-day Scottish football and would applaud McInnes for what he has achieved in an environment vastly different from that of the latter 20th century.
  14. I'd be inclined to agree, McInnes has already shown he wants to choose his next role carefully, and Sevco are a far larger basket case than Sunderland ever were.
  15. ...claim the bookies and tabloids. Getting touted as frontrunner, although I seriously doubt he would be that mad - he's outlasted 6 Sevco managers now. Six.

  17. McInnes confirmed just now on Sportsound that McLean told him a few days ago, but he got wind that someone else was going to run the story, so he broke it first.
  18. God getting right stuck in to Sounness's comments just now on Sportsound, highly pleasing.
  19. Massive, massive game. Heart: 2-1 us. Head: 2-1 them.
  20. So many words to state the obvious.
  21. I find some of the negativity around McGinn's legacy bewildering. McGinn, Hayes and Rooney were the cornerstone of the dramatic turnaround in the club's fortunes in the last five years. He may have had poor games like anyone else, but he was easily one of our best players.
  22. Strange time to announce it. He'd better hope the next Sevco manager is just as keen on him come January.
  23. Quick summary of our two loanees then: Bruce Anderson (CF) @ Elgin City (L2): Joined Elgin at the end of August for his first taste of regular senior football, made an immediate impact by scoring a double against Berwick (Elgin lost 3:2) followed by another against Montrose (Elgin won 2:0). Has played full 90 in the 2 league games since then. Connor McLennan (CF) @ Brechin City (CH): Went back to Brechin after a promising 1 month emergency loan last season where he scored once in 3 appearances for the then-league1 club. Has started all 6 games since joining them at end of August, but no goals so far in a seriously struggling Brechin side that has only managed 2 points from 30 in the Championship.
