    Films

Interesting post count RS Was visiting my brother over Xmas, and we stuck on a random film called 'the siege of Jadotville'. Based on a true story about an Irish contingent of UN peace keepers left to fend for themselves in the wilds of the Congo. Great film if its anything like what they went through
  2. Its the right type of game to try it out,but maybe not the best moment, given the apathy. Cant see how it will be much different from the last Merkland effort, but hopefully theyve learned from last time by connecting more with the majority of the support, rather than disappearing into their own wee world as it often appeared.Less songs for the sake of it,more at the right times, and more songs that dont make us older curmudgeons cringe if you want us to join in,eg bouncing on yer head etc As to the game,am away that weekend but will go for an unconvincing 2 - 0 win. Cosgrove,Considine

  4. phoned ticket office and club shop to buy and pick up a ticket on the way back from visiting folks,...but both closed. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much, but still,...a cash or contactless turnstile would surely be worthwhile...
  5. Nothing major to report, despite word of a 'big' announcement elsewhere.Due to make another loss in the forthcoming financial year. Safe standing at new ground apparently...
  6. Huffed and puffed to a 1 nil win, probably deserved another, but Hamilton were poor enough to go for the jugular and maybe get a few goals.Wasnt a lack of effort,we just don't have the guile and pace at times to do so. Nae sure about game management,we were still going for another til the end but it didn't happen.Think were just a bit average, and a good signing or 2 in January would help. Nobody was outstanding, but pass marks to Ferguson,Mcginn,Cosgrove and McKenna. 30 Hamilton fans.Theyre up on merit, but wont shed a tear if they go down... EDIT - actually Wilson did ok...
  7. Bourtree, just down fae the Paddock pub,I was there about 5 maybe before abdy started coming.Last election there was someone fae all parties
  8. Aye,duty done.Seemed quieter than the last election, and nobody outside trying to influence votes.
  9. Only away games I go to these days are mostly on Tayside,so missed a lot of the above horror shows. Think the most miserable time Ive experienced was the 1 - 0 defeat at home fae Raith in the Cup.Sitting at Pittodrie in the coldest winter in 100 years, during the worst managerial era in our recent history, while watching the fall from grace of a legend. And dumped out the cup by another lower league side. Horrific stuff, and there was worse to come at Parkhead. Probably why I dont get over-riled by present day events
  10. In or Oot - Someone has to. Furryboots - Mainer Pre - Work am Post - Not sure Prediction - No idea,a stuffy 1 - 0 win maybe. Ferguson
  11. Try this. http://www.afcheritage.org/Matches/Fixtures/fixtures.cfm?season=2001-02&Squad=Senior
  12. There have been worse midfielders than Hetherstone since, but I do remember thinking at the time, his signing seeming like a comparative downgrade in quality of player. Never took to him personally, always thought he had a hint of tink about him(IMO),and he never lived up to the hype he'd received at Falkirk
  13. Without looking, seems to be a lack of defenders.Irvine and or Inglis missing?
  14. Only post match comments I can see - "I'm maybe guilty of making too many changes looking back now. "I thought the 3-4-1-2 we went to allowed us more possession of the ball and we got into good areas, but we didn't do enough with the ball and I've gambled too early with the shape because it left us more open on the counter attack."
  15. Deek proving the doubters right....
  16. Sitting off them...and goal.
  17. Out - Away this w/e Assuming we don't game manage after scoring in the 15th min, I'll go for a 3 - 1 win Cosgrove x2, Ferguson. COYR
  18. Todays press conference.Milnes is an awkward listen
  19. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/atlanta-united-fc/transfers/verein/51663 They also got record breaking attendances(46'000) recently,in a not normally soccer friendly part of the country.Play in a 73'000 capacity stadium https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/aug/21/atlanta-united-mls-soccer-popularity-average-attendance
  20. I'll get it FULL FOURTH ROUND DRAW St Mirren v Broxburn Athletic Kilmarnock v Queen's Park Heart of Midlothian v Airdrieonians Alloa Athletic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle Livingston v Raith Rovers Auchinleck Talbot/Arbroath v Falkirk Dundee United v Hibernian Ayr United v Ross County Aberdeen v Dumbarton Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic v Clyde St Johnstone v Greenock Morton/Brora Rangers Hamilton Academical v Edinburgh City Partick Thistle v Celtic East Kilbride v BSC Glasgow Dundee v Motherwell Rangers v Stranraer
  21. Got a good response from the travelling Dons, and a bit unlucky with that late header. Some bounce if it had gone in...bit of a damp squib in the end
  22. Think Broons till staying as club 'ambassador'...
  23. Cormacks teeth fairly bedazzled Mcdermid outside before the game, and I thought there might be a bit more of a Cormack bounce inside from the players after the recent news :/ I don't think we played particularly badly,... just thought we were a bit ordinary, with some blunders thrown in,....the main one coming from Devlin, but with Logan contriving to do his best to match him. Missing that sitter cost us dearly.St J weren't that great either, but their wee winger 33,Kennedy? always looked capable of conjuring up some wee bit of majic. Needed a bit more inventiveness from ourselves around the box.Niall was putting in some decent balls, but maybe a bit more variety,ie a low ball across the goal,...or movement and one twos from the others.Seemed to be a lack of hunger for the winner til it was too late. Pass marks to McKenna,Leigh, and blunder aside,Devlin.Meh to the rest.Did Hedges touch the ball. Not seeing enough from him.
  24. Just about to head off.Dont have a ticket but am sure I read somewhere that there will be cash turnstiles if tickets are unsold in the West and North stands(no option to buy tickets online at either club).Cant see anything online today to confirm, and both club offices closed.Anyone confirm? Usually is a cash gate....
  25. Maybe more to it than I thought https://stv.tv/sport/football/1442622-aberdeen-close-to-boardroom-change-with-cormack-increasing-stake/
