  • What sort of update would keep everyone happy though? If there's a potential issue with the manager's previous club then any public announcement could prejudice the resolution of that issue.

Hi first time on this chat be gentle. I personally don't think any managers in scotland appeal at the moment ( apart from steve clarke but don't think he would come to us and don't fancy waiting

What are you actually expecting though? Recruitment processes for high-level roles always tend to be fairly private out of respect for the people involved and their current employers. There's absolutely no need for the fanbase to be privy to names on shortlist and the like.

When you look at how people jumped on and obsessed over the throwaway comment about it being advantageous for the next manager to have exposure to the Scottish game as being an absolute dealbreaker and that he'd be doing a massive U-Turn if he brought in someone that didn't fit that profile, it's no wonder he's saying the bare minimum.

However much you want to dress it up, our search for a new manager has reached the point of taking the piss.

Was their not a comment from Lutz, when he joined, that he always has five names in his book to call upon, if a new manager was required.

Really don't think it would hurt the club to communicate more with fans.

Maybe we need to get someone into the club with a communications/PR background...

How is it taking the piss?

They should be putting out a daily statement informing us that they have no further update on the manager situation.

They should have a town crier delivering the latest manager news outside Pittodrie every day at 10 am.

Or have a papal style enclave where they meet to choose a new manager. As soon as we see red smoke pouring out of the Main Stand, we will know if we have a new boss.

Because I said it is!

As fans we're invested in the club, and I feel our communications are shit in general.

Look at when Thelin was sacked, everyone knew he was gone, well ahead of the club statement.

Get your arse back up here and get it done min.

I'd say 1pm would be a better time for it though.

I've no idea why but I'm holding out hope that the appointment will be a WOW (in a good way) signing that'll have the impact required to get this once great club off it's knees.

If it's not and it's just a sticking plaster approach then I really do fear being left behind Hearts and Hibs nevermind the gruesome twosome moving forward.

We’re already there 1983. Fcuking depressing.

Genuinely not far from what kiwi politicians love to do. Make an announcement that they’ll be making an announcement confirming the announcement in the future.

That’s politicians everywhere tbh…

I actually think Lutz has some communication /media training- as BUS has said, he says a lot and the soundbites are what folk want to hear, but actually says very little.

I am very sceptical that he is the person that will build the sustainable football structure that we need - I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now as he is only 2/3 months in to a shit show, but be interesting to look back in a year to see how well this has worked

This will be why there's a lack of updates. Being told to fuck off for giving an update 🤷‍♂️

Just beat the unbeatable hearts. That's the sort of thing that could trigger Cormack to throw the cash around.

So what, we beat Hearts too.

Oh I really hope not.

It’ll happen when it happens.

Some fucker I’ve never heard of naturally, since my “if it’s nae the Dons or Keith, I dinna give a fuck” mantra means I have no knowledge of any of the candidates whose names are being discussed, and I’m quite happy with that. I’d rather read a book than watch fitba in which I have no stake.

95% of the self-appointed experts throughout our dour support will have him written off within three fixtures anyway.

Aye, heard the same and I got a name, but I can't remember it.

Certainly had never heard of him and why I can't remember it.

Not our first choice by all accounts, that was another German, who we have tried very hard to get, but wasn't interested.

Gnasher is supposedly back in town for tonight's game, so might hear something tomorrow or over the weekend.

A little birdie tells me its gonna be Andreas Hinkel.

Ex Tim striker, been involved in coaching & assistant management at Stuttgart for years, Spartak Moscow & Leipzig.

Never managed outright himself though as far as I can see.

Defo Lutz’s man, but his track record won’t bowl anyone over as far as I can see. Just gotta hope he’s the guy this time.

Should be announced next couple of days apparently, so we’ll soon see if its correct or not…

Guess falls into interesting but high risk category- could be a breath of fresh air and between him and Lutz overhaul the club structure- or will be a spectacular failure and both will get their jotters

Looks like he was manager of Stuttgart B  in German 3 division a few years ago but an assistant rest of the time. Be an odd one if it is him as hardly screams experienced.

The German Stephen Glass? Except perhaps this time we'd have the set up at the club that Glass should have had.

You know what, it'd be interesting, I wouldn't be against it. Obviously has no managerial record to speak of, but 12 years coaching and being in the dugout isn't a lack of experience really. And if he's head coach rather than overall manager, then it's not really a step up that should be behind him.

Didn't realise he had retired so young (29/30). I do remember him being a very capable right back for Celtic. Won 21 caps for Germany too which ain't bad going.
