Hibernian v Aberdeen Betfred Cup Quarter-Final

:ultras:

Aberdeen will need to play well on Tuesday to win this one. Not much difference between the two clubs and may take a moment of magic from an Aberdeen player to win it. D.M will be more defensive in this one.

Hibs 1 Aberdeen 2

This match is on BT Sport 1 and RED TV International at 19.45

I'll give him the defend part, but can't honestly say i am aware of us blatantly time wasting. Then again I might just be blinkered.

Been stewing on this, and what 11 I think would be enough to get us through.

              Lewis

Logan  Devlin  McKenna  Lowe

            Ball    Shinnie

GMS        Forrester        McGinn

                  Wilson

I know I was saying about Gleeson coming in for Ball, but the more I think about it, Hibs' full backs do like to get forward, a lot like ours, so perhaps Ball would be the logical choice given that whoever plays in there will need to cover Logan at RB if he pushes forward and gets caught in possession etc... As much as I like Gleeson, he might not be ready for that kind of exertion.

And I am certain there will be eyebrows raised at Forrester's inclusion, however, he is a CAM by trade & everyone down south was saying that's where we'd get the most of him, we need that creative spark in a game like this, Lennon won't anticipate we play him I don't imagine, therefore they may need to accommodate him which would maybe throw his plans a little, he may be reluctant to push too many bodies forward, which in turn helps us.

Wilson won't last 90 minutes, I think it's going to mightily important that we don't try and sneak a goal at the end, we're going to need to take the game to them, try get 2-0 up and then manage the game. 1-0 won't be enough. Create opportunities for Wilson/McGinn/GMS/Forrester & be clinical.

My head is saying this will be one of those nights where we just don't turn up, would absolutely love to be proved wrong. If we do manage a result, there's no excuse not to push on in the League afterwards.

Expecting a stunning 6-3 victory today

6-3 GMS (3) Logan, Ball, Gleeson

Can’t see anything other than a morale-sapping humping.

Lewis Ferguson (knee) and Scott Wright (ankle) remain out along with long-term absentees Tommie Hoban (shoulder), Mark Reynolds (knee) and Greg Tansey (groin).

the draw away to Burnley,

^^^ Got pished in the cricket club and passed out after 90 minutes.

am an average joe can someone explain the line up 7 defenders start ?

Looks like either GMS will play centrally behind 2 strikers or Cosgrove will be up top on his own and GMS/Wilson will be playing on the wings. That would leave zero creativity in the middle though.

Aberdeen: Lewis, Logan, Devlin, McKenna, Considine, Lowe, Ball, Shinnie, Mackay-Steven, Cosgrove, Wilson.

Substitutes: Cerny, Forrester, Gleeson, McGinn, May, Campbell, Anderson.

Interesting starting 11.

I have a good feeling about the game tonight.

Has to be a 3-5-2

It says something about Forrester and Gleeson to a lesser extent that DM would rather fill 2 midfield slots with full backs (3 if you include Shinnie).

Honestly have no idea how this one is going to play out. If it comes off DM is a genius but if we get a doing the knives will be out

Dom Ball off the bar

Sounds pretty even so far,Hibs looking a bit more dangerous

didnt know ball had that in the locker as a sitter in front of back 4 fine, but not alongside shinnie

Hibs definitely shading it. Had the better of the chances, not sure why Boyle used his arm. Excellent free kick from ba though, extremely unlucky

shinnie isnt playing well trying hero shots wont work stuffy performance, feel we are vulnerable at back due to the master tactician

Red tv video anyone???? What's going on, just logged in?

No idea, cut out pretty much a few mins into the second half  :hammer:

Edit: Use the backup player

Shinnie's demise has been incredible this season just hasn't got going at all. Even more worryingly Devlin has been terrible tonight.

Donsdaft will be gutted that Ball has been by far our best player

i guess mcginn isnt on a weight training regime

Red tv video anyone???? What's going on, just logged in?

if you cant get it working theres a decent stream over on the Hat page 10

ball has been great shinnie is being shinnie loads of effort but actually not effective

Cosgrove coming off, May on....

horrendous second half so far

Just cannot seem to get the ball for any length of time. Hibs showing us how the game should be played

gms pass marks
