Burnley v Aberdeen - 2nd leg

Started this because as much as yesterday was positive, we didn’t win and have a big task ahead. Much like last year against Siroki, I expect us to be fitter, stronger, and better next Thursday. While we played well I still think we were somewhat timid against the reputation of a premier league team. Yes they were good but they’re not that good and while we put in a good performance I truly believe we can be considerably better. We were praised for effort, defensive shape and organization, but we’ll be a week fitter and can certainly move the ball better.

If everyone is fit I’d like to see Hoban retain his place at left back. Lennon gave him a tough time but he’s an upgrade on Considine, certainly in terms of pace, plus a week of training and familiarity I’d expect improvement.  Initially wanted Shinnie there but I think we fell off the pace a little when Shinnie moved to the left yesterday. The only changes I’d make are Forrester replacing Ferguson, and Gleeson replacing Ball. From what I’ve seen I’ve been impressed with Forrester’s flair and we were too much long ball and lacked central creativity yesterday. I also feel that while Ball was solid yesterday, Gleeson gives us more.

Head says 2-0 Burnley, but heart says 2-1 us, Shinnie and Cosgrove.

BT coverage. Fucking Hartson and Sutton, that the best they can do? ?

gane over shite defending

10m for mckenna aye ok

gane over shite defending

Nothing to do with defending. Its the midfield that shafted the defence with that one. Giving away cheap possession on the half way line from a dons throw in.

watch mckenna and devlin

Looked like piss poor defending to me.

Nothing’s changed, we still need 1 goal.  :-\

deffo midfield to blame but Mckenna looks shaky

a midfield of a 19 yr old a lb and a cb

What a goal!!!

Fair play to you guys. Really showing us what hard graft and endeavour is all about

Hey Bob. Why is that section of seating in the centre of the away section never occupied?

Are those seats knackered?

Hey Bob. Why is that section of seating in the centre of the away section never occupied?

They probably are knackered but that's not the reason. Historically, before the all seater days, that was an entirely home stand.

Then, up to a couple of years ago it was deemed an entirely away stand. However, home fans complained about this as due to the construction of the stand the accoustics are awesome and generate the best atmosphere.  The home fans were concerned about giving this "advantage" to away fans so after some campaigning a small section of it was designated for the "noisy" home fans.

The empty seats in the middle act purely as a no man's land to prevent over exuberant handshakes

burnley now attacking wide and we are getting over run mcinnes needs to adapt/change

Burnley are historically dangerous after 80+ minutes. Something to do with fitness levels and other such nonsense

cosgrove honest trier but no quality whatsoever still done ok

I like Aberdeen. Playing football the proper way, and none of that chucking yourself on the floor and cheating nonsense that the EPL is riddled with

fair play feel if he had a proper striker we could have won it

stevie may ffs

Scoreline doesn't reflect the game. Your supporters should be proud

We won't win it we're a million miles away from good enough. Your guys were superb, was a privilege to be on the same pitch as you.

Hope a few people adjust their opinions about Scottish football after tonights performance from the Dons.

Damn good contest, reminds me of when football used to be enjoyable before the EPL became a thing

All the best

Anybody else sick of the hard luck story line with Aberdeen this last three or four years???

You know losing to Celtic in last minute of Scottish Cup Final and only going out to Kairat Almaty, Maribor and Apollon Limassol by the one goal each time and now Burnley in extra-time.

no bad thing squad isnt strong enough to cope with extra games
