The problem here is that the whole thing has been put in quotes. It is not unusual for Pressley to refer to himself in the third person, so it wouldn't surprise me if he said the first part about the travelling support. 

I thought it was Tom Jones who sang "It's Not Unusual", not Elvis Presley.
