Aberdeen FC’s Grassi linked with move to St Johnstone

Perth club ready to make move for star

Published: 21/05/2010

ABERDEEN FC’s hopes of re-signing Davide Grassi could be scuppered by St Johnstone.

The Perth club were today linked with a move for the left-sided player.

The Italian spent last season with Aberdeen FC but is now out of contract.

The Dons have offered Grassi a six-month deal, but the player wants to sign for the entire season.

In his defence...I thought he was coming on quite well nearer the end of the season

I thought 1st April was earlier in the year? I can't wait to see what this new team is going to look like....

Nope - still the same date it always it.

Think they may have moved April fools day to today, though.

As long as it's not at the expense of a proper left back, I'm not too disappointed, at least we know what his limitations are and what we can expect from him which saves us the hassle of bringing in another posse of journeyman trialists and settling on the least worst.

Miller has already confirmed that it is. He said in the daily retard at the start of the week that Mulgrew would not be replaced as we already had Foster and Grassi to cover left back.

Shite signing. Shit player. Nice guy.

Not good enough imo.

To be fair Miller also said that the 6 month contract offer was non negotiable so I wouldn't rule anything out!

Enormously underwhelming news. A poor player who stood out as poor in a poor season.

They dont ever learn do they? The reason why we were a ball hair frem a full on relegation battle was because of thier refusal to replace those who have left whith those of a decent standard for r YEARS now.

If Miller thinks that that continuing with this policy is acceptable then the squad is utterly fucked.

Miller will tell you that the club doesn't have a choice.

Until faced with relegation money will appear from thin air to pay Mark McGhee and the coaching staff off which would have been better of being invested in the quality of playing staff to begin with.
