Finally getting round to this after all the World Cup stuff and life. Loved episode 1.

Also started watching Sugar. A drama mystery series with Colin Farrell. My wife hated it as it had subtitles to start with, and was a bit artsy for her liking (typical me apparently). Slow but I’ve enjoyed it so far.

In amongst sugar, have now also started the boroughs which seems to have decent reviews. Another sci-fi drama but a decent first episode.

The Dark on ITV/STV Player was surprisingly good. Like a Scottish version of those Scandi Noir murder mysteries.

Fans of Dept Q should like it!

Series 1 captured the zeitgeist. Series two was dog shit. Series 3 I quite enjoyed.

Any one watch Disclosure "Drugs, Violence & Racism, A Week In Glasgow City Centre"

Going to keep the politics out of it BUT my god what a total hatchet job by BBC this was. Of course there are issues in Glasgow, but did the city really merit being singled out in quite the way they did. I very much suspect that it is no different to cities the length and breadth of the UK, but lets chose Glasgow. I have had many a drunken night in Glasgow City Centre, literally doing the drunk man walk to catch the last train from Central Station on a Friday or Saturday night and never felt threatened in the way that programme made me feel.

Shame on the BBC, finding the time and budget to put the boot in in the way they did but couldn't find the time or budget to promote the City in a positive light during the recent Commonwealth Games. Amazing also how they managed to get their timings so right as to start filming the day after the "racist" murder in Belfast that was referenced as starting the protests.

I've been to the likes of Madrid, Barcelona & Frankfurt in recent years and felt less safe than I do in Glasgow City Centre.

Would imagine this programme will be available to catch up upon on the I-Player if you missed it

Just watched it now. Had to laugh at the 24hr shopkeeper moaning about the amount of drug dealers in the area while being interviewed beneath his big neon window signs saying "vapes, pipe and bongs".

Apart from that it was just your standard guys clad in black shouting internet inspired hatred.

You can’t keep the politics out it. The Media in Scotland sole purpose is to sink the boot in. Everything is shite, nothing can be done about it, you’re all lucky it’s not even worse.

That dribbling idiot McKenna in the Herald the other day, was saying how unfair it was that people were criticising Joani Reid for the actions of her husband. This from the paper that still shites out 5 articles a day on Nicola Sturgeon. If an SNP MSP was pumping her way round faslane while her husband was chatting up Chinese spies, I suspect the Scottish press might’ve had more to say on it.

Back on topic though, I’ve never seen any bother in Glasgow that wasn’t football related. It’s as safe a safe a city as you’ll find in the UK. You could probably find some though if you went looking for it, which it sounds like the BBC did. Well done auntie, have a biscuit.

Genuinely I saw more violence in Edinburgh city centre than I ever did in Glasgow. Excluding football violence, which ironically involved both Edinburgh clubs, in Glasgow 😂

I watched the first three or four episodes, but couldn't really get into it and gave up, maybe prematurely but just felt I had better ways to spend my time than watching something that wasn't really floating my boat

Our far right protectors didn't exactly come out of it well. Some of it seemed like a parody.

One 'patriot' was shouting how proud he was to be a facist and another giving Nazi salutes, but not quite brave enough to do so without a mask.

I bet the females of Glasgow have never felt so safe knowing they have so much white men trying to protect them at nights.

I go to Glasgow, fairly regular for gigs and sometimes fitba, usually Fridays and Saturdays and actually feel safer their than I do when out in for the evening in Aberdeen.

Would I feel the same in Glasgow on a school night , when there is less Police presence?

I've fairly recently started doing some analysis work for Police Scotland and can confirm it is grim as fuck on our streets at the moment.

The one positive from the programme, for me, was seeing more lefties, them of the 'woke left mindset', shouting down the far right goons.
