  • I'm very glad that I can watch the Dons most weeks and then switch off to all other football (Scotland aside). I do watch the occasional game on the telly (rarely a whole game), mainly the BBC Friday

Am I right in thinking that every single Premiership team has taken something from Pittodrie this season - except Hearts? Had they won at Pittodrie earlier in the season, they'd already be champi

The Livingston chairman has said that the SFA has admitted there was a mistake in their game with the hun, that saw them denied a penalty.

That's cleared that up then and surely it won't happen again....

Heads will surely roll over this.

Livi chairman will be hunted down by the local masonic lodge for having the audacity to draw attention to this matter

Aye, I expect some bad press to come the way of their chairman.

We're not allowed to call it out, but when they feel hard done by, the story runs in the press for weeks.

I don't think it was that bad a call. It merely highlights the stupidity of VAR, and the arsehole of a handball rule it has created. It's fairly easy to explain what the ref did or didn't see, and fairly easy to think of a reason not to give the pen, and also fairly easy to think of a reason to give it. Had the rule still been the existing deliberate rule, I'd have no problem with playing on. The player doesn't try and block the ball. In real time, instead of shitey slow motion, you can see the player has no time at all to properly react. He realises the ball is going to hit his arm and does the involuntary movement that goes towards the ball rather than away from it. Anyone who has played football has likely experienced it, regardless of the level your playing at. It's an entirely different movement to going in with your arm raised (making yourself bigger), or making a deliberate save. If he'd had time to move his hand out of the way, he would have, but there wasn't because it was close to him, and the unexpected shiteness of the shot would have taken him by surprise. If the ref had given it in real time, that's an entirely acceptable call too. It's hit the player's hand, and he's moved his arm slightly towards it.

It's a subjective game, filled with subjective decisions. There's no such thing as clear and obvious, and never can be. A decision can almost always be explained either way. I tend to look at things through an honesty lens. The player didn't try to gain an advantage by handling it, it just happened, so you play on. Sportsmanship, basically.

Anyway, Livi will get a dodgy pen against the next unlucky fools who have to play them to even things up.

The point I am getting at, is that when the hun are on the recieving end of a bad call, or a perceived bad call, it gets very, very stupid in our press, as though it is a conspiracy against them.

Every team suffers through poor ref/var decisions, but I would say on the whole, the hun get more favourable decisions than bad ones over a season.

Oh, undoubtedly, they're Huns after all. Their decision the other week was another that was absolutely fine as the ref called it. I wouldn't be surprised if their reaction to it had a subconscious effect on the decision made against Livingston. Which they know, hence the bullying statements.

The problem that we have is that all our clubs are firmly embedded in the decision to implement the single worst thing to happen to football. They're still right behind VAR, despite it ruining the experience of the paying customer. The dishonesty of all our clubs, and managers, has led to the "technology" being implemented, and is seeing that it remains. If the Huns were genuinely concerned, as they said in their last statement, about the decisions made by VAR, they'd have released another statement after the Livi game. As would all our clubs. Unfortunately, they're only interested in how it doesn't work, when it doesn't, for themselves. It's why we get compliant shite with Collum explaining his staff's workings every month, but we didn't previously.

Palmeiras v Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores Final on BBC3 at 9pm tonight.

Watched the Motherwell v Hearts game.

Although not as exciting as the six goal thriller they shared earlier in the season but a decent enough watch nonetheless

One win in five for the all conquering champions elect

Also a big win for Dundee today St Mirren spiralling down the table.

Anyone still fancy Robinson as our next manager 😉

Motherwell draw with champions elect, Hearts.

From my listening to it, very much should have been a Motherwell win.

I might be wrong, but weren't we on more points by this time last season, than the champions elect.

Megginson, Emslie with the goals, and an assist from Machoir too. We're great at producing for the lower leagues.

Watkins wins the penalty, converted by Anderson. There's nothing we don't touch.

Another goal for Killie (and none for the Arabs) sees us move ahead of utd without having to move.

Spurs being Spurs and losing 2-0 at home to Fulham.

Libertadores final was a bit sedate but starting to revert to type with a couple of nasty challenges one of which would have been a red card in Europe.

Finished 1-0 to Flamengo. Unusually for a Libertadores final there was actually some football played. Stadium in Lima looked amazing in a stunning setting.

It’s a cracking stadium. NZ played Peru in the WC qualifiers when we were travelling through but we missed the game by a few days. Their media is bonkers over there.

It’s on the list of stadiums to visit if I ever win the lottery.

The fuck 😲

I was nowhere near Amsterdam. I came straight hame fae Livi 😉

Wild game at Craven Cottage between Fulham and Man City. Man City were 1-5 up but now been pegged back to 4-5.

Finished 4-5 to Man City.

On to Newcastle v Spurs game now.

That finished 2-2. Newcastle’s 2nd was another farce of a VAR decision. Spurs getting a draw with 2 shots 2 goals.

Hun get awarded a soft penalty in the 98th minute and salvage a 2-2 draw.

Somethings will just never change in our game.
