Can see a few changes being rung. Will Happe be banned? It used to be LC suspensions carried into the league but I'm not sure that's still the case. I can't see us moving away from the back 3 so either Milne or Molloy will be starting if Happe is out. Cadden and OB2 will likely be burst after Kilmarnock so may see changes at fb but the change I really want to see is Marshall in for Ronan.

Not overly optimistic, Motherwell are well rested coming into this to boot, but I'm not as fearful of a Well doing as I was 24 hours ago.

We've been a bit all over the place with systems, formations and line-ups, and then making multiple subs at half-time in games, which is clearly playing a big part in why we don't look anything like a settled side.

Would make sense with two away games and then an international break afterwards to just stick with the 5-3-2 / 3-5-2 that has given us some success in recent games. (Didn't realise it's actually a three-week break and we're not back until 11 October, but that would be the time to work on any new systems etc).

I'd play a slightly more defensive midfield though. Not because I particularly fear Motherwell, but just because I don't think we've quite cracked who should play in the middle yet and can see Aremu or Briedl if playing DM alone getting dragged about quite a lot. I'd play two deeper midfielders together.

It could be that the cup win is just the tonic to lift the team and provide some much needed confidence, and we push on from there.

Running counter to that is that our starting XI is largely made up of a bunch of useless cunts, so there’s every chance we’ll get turned over by Motherwell.

Not just the starting XI. From the chairman down to the first team coaching staff.

Motherwell are going to be a far harder test than Killie. Would expect us to keep to 5 at the back in this one and keep 3 in midfield although suspect Armstrong maybe rested. Ntelo was pretty poor at weekend and would be inclined to try Mouloua up with Nisbet. Keep Olusanya for impact sub role. Becoming a right part timer as missing this one again due to work. Having a feeling might be a good thing.

Not puzzled by any of those decisions 2bh. Molloy, Marshall and Toy all had really good games when they came on on sat. Indeed I would argue they all actually had their best performances in red so really no shock to see them in. The only surprise I have is aremu starting over Briedl who, also, had his best performance in red.

You see, even when you're happy, he throws something in to make you unhappy.

I suspect this will be a never ending “debate” but we do seem to be a more effective team when olusanya is in it than when he isn’t. Whatever his own limitations, he does seem to have some benefit to the team.

The game is 10 minutes old and six times Motherwell have targeted Aberdeen's left hand side. They clearly see GW/Molloy as a weakness.
