A home tie didn't help the huns against Queen's Park in 2025. Just saying, like.

Just imagine the scoreline had it been away though!

As good a place to put this as any. Very tidy goal from Bavidge it has to be said after a very tidy through ball from Stewart.

I read that barring the semis and the final, its been five years since they last got an away tie in the cup.

No idea if true, but mental if so.

Need all the money they can to help keep them going I'm guessing. Not the the GFA, I mean, SFA, favour them or anything like that.

It's true.

Monday morning, can't get going at my desk until coffee kicks in, so had a trawl through Wikipedia (I did it, then asked Chat GPT - and it gave me the same answer in seconds!)

Removing semis and finals, I make it:

20/21 – 2 x away (LC), 3 x home (SC)

21/22 – 2 x home (LC), 1 home, 2 away (SC)

22/23 – 2 x home (LC), 2 x home,1 x away (SC)

23/24 – 2 x home (LC), 1 x home, 2 x away (SC)

24/25 – 2 x home (LC), 2 x home (SC)

25/26 – 2 x home (LC), 3 x home (SC)

LC – 10 home, 2 away

SC – 12 home, 5 away

Total – 22 home (76%), 7 away

I asked Chat GPT abut our record

From 2020/21 to 2025/26, Aberdeen played:

  • 23 home games

  • 18 away games

  • 41 total games

So Aberdeen's split was 56.1% home / 43.9% away.

and Hearts:

Across the six seasons, Hearts played:

  • 12 home games

  • 22 away games

  • 34 total games

So their cup schedule was 35.3% home / 64.7% away.

But check out Celtic

  • 22 home games

  • 5 away games

  • 27 total games

That gives Celtic a 81.5% home / 18.5% away split.

This is Chat GPT so who knows the accuracy - but the Hun stats matched

I must go and do some work!!!!

And of course the semis and finals are on their doorstep with biased allocations..

Our game is one of 3pm matches on Saturday.

I fucked up with booking a golf away day then. It was a gamble.

Tickets on sale for the next round against Dundee. £20 for an adult ticket seems pretty reasonable.

Draw after Rangers v St Mirren. Stenhousemuir the surprise name in the bowl after beating Motherwell.

Six-time winners Aberdeen

Celtic

Hearts

Hibs

Kilmarnock

Ross County

Rangers or St Mirren

Stenhousemuir

A home draw with any of them would be nice, preferably Stenhousemuir.

I oddly fancy Hearts at Tynecastle, an extra chance to put the away win hoodoo to bed there. But, think the ticket allocations for the LC are the same as the league so not sure we'd get an increased allocation.

I don't fancy Stenhousemuir, unless it's at home. It looks like the huns will be in the draw, even McWinless can't fuck up a 4-1 lead at home.

Oh I dunno, I wouldn't turn down the opportunity to exorcise the ghost of 95 at Ochilview

But it might happen again.

I have a horrible feeling we will get one of the gruesome twosome.

Killie away. Huns get another home draw!

The Old Firm drawn together in a quarter final?

To quote Mark McGhee, "Is that allowed"?

I'd be pretty confident of beating Killie at theirs.......maybe, I think

At least they have binned that horrible pitch. Their new one sounds really good actually

Double header with Killie, we play them at home in the league a week before.

The "statistical anomaly" of the Huns being drawn at home in every cup tie for the past number of years continues.

Perfect, home draw for some of us.

Back from Greece on the 10th and straight into this

Life is good 👍

We've only ever beaten Stenny once in a competitive match, and that was our most recent meeting in the Scottish Cup (2019, 4-1 at Ochilview in a replay).

Oh and I get the opportunity to post in Kowalski's sub forum for part timers whilst away in Greece, whilst getting rat arsed on Mythos, Fixx and seven star Metaxa
