Elgindon Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Didnt think there was that much between the sides.Should've learned a few things about ourselves, and 'Well. Few tweaks and a hopefully better performance on Wednesday 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Not totally judging, games cancelled, training effected, and a bunch of new players. Away to the leagues form team for the most part in shit conditions. Thought the keeper did nothing wrong, spilled a couple but possibly the conditions didn’t help. Morrison, not impressed, although didn’t stand out as a negative today. Milne def gets his place back. McIntyre did ok and better than molloy, plus won headers. Afeez did nothing. Disappointing debut. Geiger was prob the best of the new players, nothing fancy but a solid experienced pro in there, couple of nice passes. olusayna, out of position, can’t play right mid. Did little defensively which hurt us. I’d be tempted to play a combo of lobban Jensen and devlin at right back right mid for the rest of the season. Cameron was disappointing, no better than Armstrong today. special mention for lazetic, worst I’ve seen him. Shocking. Quote
Bukta Bertie Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago I'm reasonably happy with that second half. Obviously the new boys are not match fit and it'll take time for everyone to gel but yes there are definitely green shoots of improvement there. 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago I will add a positive spin though, as mentioned before, def like a preseason game and we were not totally outplayed by one of the better teams in the league. Need games to gel, one down. Certainly a better performance than killie, and on a good day we get breaks in front of goal. Could have been a little fortunate and taken something today. we didn’t look as ropey/vulnerable from corners or free kicks. Thought we were better in the air. Their first goal could have been better defended, space between Jensen and Morrison exploited, plus no help defensively on the right from olusaygna. Second goal, we’re three at the back, stretched, and chasing the game. As mentioned, good learning experience in prep for the cup game. Geiger looked decent, hoping he just tired. Afeez gave little, certainly hope it’s not a sign of things to come. He did get better as the half went on I suppose. id say we’d benefit from shinnie in there, leadership and care. Maybe those three moving forward? How long is he suspended? We clearly don’t have a right mid, and we played one of the best left backs in the league. Today showed what’s not an option, and neither milanovic or bilalovic are the solution. I’d go with lobban there as a short term solution. If that’s what lazetic now offers, hope we don’t see him again. Quote

The.Moog Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Well we’ve been worse, about all I can say about that. No surprise there though. New guys did ok, but all looked like folk who had hardly played this season. Never play Olusanya at right mid again, worse tracking back than Shady Mo. 2nd goal was another complete joke. Motherwell just have better players all over the park though - Motherwell ffs. They sign Longelo as a full back, we have the likes of Jensen & Gyamfi and how much more did they cost than him? If that doesn’t highlight how abject our recruitment has been nothing will. Bottom 6 now all but guaranteed. Cup likely gone Wednesday too, so season probably done mid Feb. There is no universe in which that is anything but completely unacceptable… Edited 19 hours ago by The.Moog 1 Quote
2stars Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago One thing I will say about Aremu was he seemed disciplined to stay in front of centre half’s and didn’t go wandering- whether he actually managed to block the space and through balls, not so sure, but though the middle they generally didn’t play through the lines as much as the last time we played them biggest problem was down our right would not be averse to Lobban being on the right of 4-4-1-1 midfeld as a stopgap as he can put a cross in and normally wants to be positive- Jensen just looks for the safe ball, but he wasn’t helped at all with Olusanya defensively Geiger looked decent enough- but any better than Auchiche? Hopefully with games he will do well Going forward from the wings Topi tries but frustrates and Olusanya makes us narrow- felt sorry again for Nisbet who is feeding off of scraps Cameron tried hard but thought he was poor- add Frame and Morrison to that. McIntyre looked better if the 2 chs Lazetic is a waste of a shirt the goalie looks more comfortable with ball at his feet than Mitov Will take the positives into Wednesday where that will be season saving game 1 Quote
Bukta Bertie Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago I should add I saw enough to suggest we do have a chance in the cup tie. Definitely. 4 Quote

Said afeez was struggling w fitness/cramp. Got better as the game went on and agree, played his position, but we didn’t see the physical player we’ve heard about. geiger looks a more composed passer who will dictate play, aouchiche was more a 10 to me. I liked what I saw, he crawled up too but w games he may come good. agree, thought the keeper was good, calmer an less eratic than mitov perhaps. another game with very little width/wingers, which hurts us big time. If not lobban, I’d rather see bilalovic again, worked against livi. Frame didn’t push on much but that’s a tough ask for a new player in a new defense in a team w no confidence. Quote

OrlandoDon Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Pretty quiet on here today for a game day, spent a fair bit of time readying my own posts and responding! could have been better but certainly could have been worse. Anyone at the game got anything to add? Few things from me after thinking more - I didn’t think McIntyre was too bad. Thought he was aggressive in the air, and I didn’t think he was overly slow. Quicker than consi! And certainly better than molloy. Think he’ll do ok for us. Morrison doesn’t look anything special, two games now and I see him dropping out as soon as Milne is available. Crazy to think there was Scotland squad talk and him trying to get to the World Cup, first look and it’s still early, but my impressions are he shouldn’t be playing for us. Liked the look of Geiger, willing to be the man in midfield and dictate tempo. just not fit/ match sharp. Afeez should compliment him, willing to do more of the heavy lifting but we didn’t see a lot today. Keen to see how fitness improves him. yet again width is a major concern. Not a lot from topi and nothing on the right. And little/no bench options. Said it already and will keep doing so until the coaching staff hear! Lobban right mid for the short term may be worth trying, devlin behind. Quote
Ajja Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Suspect everyone is just a bit scunnered with losing despite the new players and potential positives to take out of today. It’s a tough gig supporting us right now. Hopefully we can get a much needed lift from cup game and start building some confidence in the team. I genuinely think if we can get some results, we’ll improve. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I don't comment much on games I don't see in person. It is all just rather messy at the moment. Having to play so many unknown players at this stage in the season, can never be a good thing. I'm Clinging onto the fact that we are still in the cup. We've had far worse seasons, but that's not much consolation. 2 Quote
Blow.Up.Sheep Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago (edited) we got what we deserved and that was sweet fk all. Personally thought our best player was Kevin Nisbet but he got hooked for Lazetic, fuk me take off your best player and replace him with a useless piece of shit that was without doubt the worst player on the park For their goals why oh why was Nisbet the furthest back Aberdeen player, very poor defending again. OK we should have had a free kick for a Motherwell handball abut 20 seconds before the goal, but we didn't get. Personally I thought it was a certain handball, but hey ho Their second goal was just comedy gold. We were not as poor yesterday as we were at Rugby park but still a million miles away form been a good team. Good a bad feeling that our season will be all but over on Wednesday night. All but over in the sense all we will have left to play for is to avoid the relegation play off spot. Edited 8 hours ago by Blow.Up.Sheep Quote

I'm guessing in the school play of Snow white and the Seven Dwarves you got rave reviews for your performance in the role of Grumpy. Jesus. Happy Monday Quote
