A good win even allowing for the circumstances throughout the match. We are a team devoid of confidence.  The swagger we exhibited until we lost Geiger was enjoyable but fleeting. Momentum is a massive element in Scottish fitba, we can only hope its our turn to string some performances together. Shinnie, Cameron, nisbet, olusanya all were important at right time. Unfortunately the likes of palaversa and Keskinen continue to massively underwhelm.

the red cards were huge. First one unlucky but a red, and a lovely nisbet goal. No way is the second red, just too far from goal and while level, there are defenders back.

Don't know why you hate to say it.  They are a good side and if they didn't pass around so much even when a man down could have given us much more trouble.  Agree with you that the 2nd red is poor (although I remember we had a CB a few years back (Devlin? partnered McKenna) who was given a red when he fouled a guy who was actually moving towards the touchline near the centre circle),  anyone who has seen Olusanya running with the ball (unless he's up against Ruby!), would know he's not going to be able to control it for 40-50 metres.

Sorry but I won't have any talk of "luck" that's almost as bad as the idiot who claimed the cup final win was a "fluke". Aberdeen were good last night and I find it hard to understand why so many Aberdeen fans find it so hard to accept ehen we do well. It's as if a lot of our supporters actually find solace in negativity and being critical.

I like Geiger a lot. He's going to be a great signing. Wind played a part in the rash challenge that got him send off but I'm not doing to turn against him because of a red card in a game we went on to win as some Dons fans seen to be doing.

If he replicated that tackle on Miovski next time we play that lot he'd surely be a local folk hero. Wouldn't care if we went on to lose the match 5-0 due to being a man down. Stuff of Legend.

Few observations rather than repeating too much of what’s already been said. Agree we are a dose of confidence off being able to compete with most sides. Game was ruined (positively for us) by the cards. I actually think that the second was given largely because the player himself (Gordon) actively goes to take Olusanya out which is a clear cycnical move and an indication of the threat. Might have tipped VAR/Beaton to think it was red (I don’t think it was). Also, and most crucially, Motherwell created nothing tonight. One slight opportunity in the box for Just and they hit the post late on but think that was flagged. They need to learn to finish if they have any aspirations for success.  We didn’t look composed on the ball but as others have said that’s a confidence thing but we limited them to possession without much penetration (aided by losing players). Thought Cameron was superb and we should be doing everything to sign him.

Very happy to have got this one totally wrong, as I really never seen that coming. Not a great performance as such but a fantastic result and we are still in the cup in with a serious shout of retaining it (it has t be said).

Hopefully both our goal scorers overall performance and contribution will go some way to silencing their critics. But apparently Shinnie's legs have gone and Nisbet is shite 
Said it before and will say Shinnie and Nisbet are the very VERY least of our problems, and once again both of them putting in MOTM performances last night.

Great result and well done Leven and Doc and everyone involved.

We did have a bit of luck, but I agree that we played well and deserved the luck and the win.

I'm not sold on Geiger yet. He looked okay, but I thought he looked a poorer version of Aouchiche. Doesn't quite have the legs I'd say, but hopefully it's just him getting up to speed. Agree about the wind, that's how I saw it in real time, although it does look a lot worse on the highlights! I totally disagree about your point in miovski. Last night, he had his eyes on the ball and accidentally caught the player, who was back on his feet in thirty seconds. If he's going to get sent off against the Hun, then there needs to be at least a season ending injury, and preferably in a challenge where he can follow through and take out at least one other Hun. Followed by him screaming in their faces and throwing his top into the Ibrox stands.

From what little I’ve seen so far I think Geiger could be an upgrade on Aouchiche and a fit with the Scottish game. Simply because more combative, more straightforward .He must be way off it in terms of fitness so too soon to say I suspect.

One thing I noticed last night. Milanovic looking like he was begging John Beaton not to send off the Motherwell lad in the first few minutes.

Some would praise him for fair play, but fucking hell mate, we need every advantage we can get just now. Let the ref send him off.

Played together at Western Sydney Wanderers so probably trying to help his mate for some stupid reason.

I never said fluke but you may be referring to me, thanks for the shout out! Absolutely there was luck go our way last night. Doesn’t take away from two very good goals. We were unlucky not to get a foul/hand ball prior to motherwell’s first goal. And in the cup final, we definitely had luck on our side too. Doesn’t take away from many good things we did well, including the best penalties I’ve ever seen.

luck is a huge part of football. We were due some, last night helped.
