Jute Posted Wednesday at 21:59 Author Report Posted Wednesday at 21:59 Cameroon beat Gabon 1-0 in final game of the day. Entertaining game and meant avoided most of the Christmas tv.  No games until Boxing Day now. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 06:44 Author Report Posted Friday at 06:44 Today’s games are Angola v Zimbabwe 12:30 Egypt v South Africa 15:00 Zambia v Comoros 17:30 Morocco v Mali 20:00 Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 15:14 Author Report Posted Friday at 15:14 Missed first game which finished 1-1 between Angola and Zimbabwe. Egypt v South Africa on now. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 16:19 Author Report Posted Friday at 16:19 Egypt awarded a very soft penalty by VAR just before half time to take lead 1-0 but then reduced to 10 on stroke of half time when Hany was sent off for 2nd booking. 2nd half been all South Africa so far. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 17:40 Author Report Posted Friday at 17:40 Finished 1-0 to Egypt. South Africa had loads of the ball but never really like scoring despite the man advantage. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 19:36 Author Report Posted Friday at 19:36 Zambia v Comoros finished 0-0 and was as poor as scoreline suggests. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 20:56 Author Report Posted Friday at 20:56 Morocco 1-0 up at half time courtesy yet another non penalty awarded by VAR. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 21:30 Author Report Posted Friday at 21:30 VAR needed to award a stonewall penalty for Mali to make it 1-1. Keeper will be a bit disappointed he didn’t save it. Quote
Jute Posted Friday at 22:08 Author Report Posted Friday at 22:08 Finished 1-1. Decent game with chances for both sides. First time in 18 months that Morocco have not won  an international. Quote

Good technically on the ball but nobody upfront that is going to trouble Grant Hanley.  4 more games today. Benin v Botswana 12:30 Senegal v DR Congo 15:00 Uganda v Tanzania 17:30 Nigeria v Tunisia 20:00 Quote

Jute Posted Saturday at 22:42 Author Report Posted Saturday at 22:42 Missed Benin 1-0 Botswana and Uganda 1-1 Tanzania so no idea how they went.  Saw Senegal 1-1 DR Congo in pub before Dons game and Senegal were maybe a bit lucky to get draw. Last game between Nigeria and Tunisia finished 3-2 and was a cracking game and restored my faith in football after 90 minutes of Goodwin ball. Quote
Jute Posted yesterday at 08:18 Author Report Posted yesterday at 08:18 4 games again today Gabon v Mozambique 12:30 Equatorial Guinea v Sudan 15:00 Algeria v Burkina Faso 17:30 Ivory Coast v Cameroon 20:00 Quote
Jute Posted yesterday at 14:37 Author Report Posted yesterday at 14:37 Gabon 2-3 Mozambique. Really entertaining end to end game with Mozambique getting their first ever AFCON win. Passed a couple of hours on train this afternoon. Gabon looking like they are probably going home after losing first two matches. Quote
Jute Posted 22 hours ago Author Report Posted 22 hours ago Equatorial Guinea 0-1 Sudan. Only saw first 20 minutes of this and looked pretty even then. Loss means Equatorial Guinea are only team in the group not to have won game. Quote
Jute Posted 20 hours ago Author Report Posted 20 hours ago Algeria beat Burkina Faso 1-0 in third game. Missed most of this as well as watching Palace v Spurs 6 points enough to see Algeria through. Quote
Jute Posted 19 hours ago Author Report Posted 19 hours ago Ivory Coast 1-0 up on Cameroon following great goal from Diallo. Quote
Jute Posted 19 hours ago Author Report Posted 19 hours ago Lead only lasted 4 minutes as Cameroon equalise with aid of massive deflection. Quote

On my 5th fight of the day with my kids, inbetween Florida gardening which is like trying to maintain the Amazon during rainy season. Maybe I’ve won one fight so far, exhausted. Quote

It’s a hard life but I battle through it. My daughter genuinely thought TV only showed football for a long time.  Joking aside AFCON has worked for me as been travelling over Christmas and had a bit of time sitting about on trains and in hotels so managed to see number of games. Quote
Jute Posted 7 hours ago Author Report Posted 7 hours ago 4 games today. At 4pm the final games in group B.  Egypt v Angola Zimbabwe v South Africa.  Egypt have won the group South Africa just need to avoid defeat to secure progression to next phase as they have head to head on Angola. Zimbabwe and Angola need a win to be one of best 3rd place teams.  Second group of games at 7pm sees the final games in group A Comoros v Mali Morocco v Zambia All to play for in this group with every team still having a chance to qualify. Morocco are through but will want to win the group. Wins for any of the others should see them progress. Quote
