AEK Athens vs Dandies

Walk in the park this one…

AEK are second in the league and playing PAOK tomorrow, so hopefully they’ll be fairly battle weary after that and focussed on their next game against  Olimpiacos.

Confidence appears to be returning to us both in the players and the fan base, but it would still be a massive shock to get anything here. Not saying it’s not doable, but Greece is hostile at the best of times so a lot would need to go right for anything positive this week.

Is there any news on knoesters or was that just a precaution? Hoping we don’t have to change too much.

many DTers heading along?

out

work

work

work (there’s a song in that)

2-0, no dons scorer

Do we not have a gym at Cormack park?

Aye, but it's new, so we don't like to get sweat on it.

That was a sore one. We were rank, but they were very good. We were just that little bit slow all over the park, and each time we were a half second too late to the ball, they capitalised. The first goal, Shinnie gets beaten, but he'd be expecting Devlin to be a bit closer in order to easily block the angle of the shot, but it was an absolute belter of a finish. The subsequent goals were all a variation on that theme. Shinnie and Armstrong weren't a great pairing, but Palaversa, Polvara and Clarkson all came on and struggled (Palaversa got walked around twice in the lead up to their fifth, making Shinnie look like a spritely twenty year old). Keskinen struggled defensively, but I think Jensen was probably worse on that side unfortunately. Dorrington didn't look great, and Milne struggled too. Thought Lazetic was probably one of our top performers, and I'd have given him our MOTM if it hadn't been for the work of Yengi when he came on.

Anyway, the worst part is that we have to play again on Sunday, and Hibs are probably decent. We ran ourselves into the ground chasing shadows tonight, and that will take its toll. I expect Lazetic might be rested, which is not what we need (a good argument to say that we should have given Nisbet a run out instead, but I suspect we'd drained the subs by that point). There's nothing great about this conference league shite it has to be said!

Aye, travelling to get pumped. Not great. There was very little to be positive about that game. I had to switch off at 4-0 and wasn't overly sad to do so either.

A shit first 20 mins just got worse and worse.Lucky to keep it single digits by the end.

2 game unbeaten bubble had to burst some time though...🙄

Will bars still be open by time you get back into town?

That's brutal

On the way home, awaiting flight to Edinburgh and then driving.

I have nothing to say about the game other than if it had been ten it wouldn't have flattered them.

Plenty to say about their brand new build of a stadium

Without doubt the access arrangements are amongst the worst I have encountered anywhere, coupled to shite facilities. An away section that houses close to 1600 fans had six urinals. By the end of the game you had to wade through pish on the floor. Food kiosk service amongst the slowest ever.

Busses in underground to the stadium and back out after, left in a confined space, with no air and fifteen bus engines running for fucking ages.

Couldn't even begin to tell you how many riot police on duty and not one of them capable or interested in doing anything about the little bastards shining lasers into our support.

Atmosphere was just so flat in the city after the game.

Athens itself from the little I saw of it is a great city and would certainly go back.

Dicks obviously spent all their money on players.
