Saints v Dandies

Huge match for us coming up on Saturday as we'll get an indication if the team really are starting to gel and find their feet or was the Dundee game a flash in the pan. It is also lovely to have a Saturday 3pm kick off again 👍

Far too early in the week to think about how we'll line up and my only real thought on it so far is that it won't be the same starting eleven as started the last league game and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Jimmy reverted to a back four.

Feeling reasonably optimistic at present and going for a 2-1 victory for us with goals from Armstrong & Topi.

  • I'm pretty nervous about it 2bh Al. A win would be massive and really gives us impetus going into the Athens game but they have a great record against us.  A draw wouldn't be awful but a defeat would

  • It's too late, he read your post and has implemented your strategy in training all week.

  • Yes, Aberdeen did it in 2026.

Think the referee has expected a physical game and has decided to just try stamp down on everything when he doesn't need to. Actually, both teams are trying to play open attacking football.

Been a few times where we're just crying out for someone on the edge of the box to smash home an attempted clearance.

Draw probably fair at half-time.

An okay first half, they're a decent side. Struggling to get the ball to stick up front, because they're very good at closing down the player on the ball very quickly. Karlsson looks like he might be struggling a bit with a knock (dead leg perhaps)? We're advancing the ball quite well, although some of our play has been a little slack in midfield, Armstrong in particular. Molloy not been a great outlet, but he's playing out of position, wouldn't mind seeing Keskinen on in his place early in the second. Nisbet good when he gets the ball into his feet, but it happens so rarely, the game just passes him by. Although it has to be said that the front three are working hard, just not getting much of a sniff. I think the balance is off with Aouchiche there, but I have a feeling that Clarkson would be the likely replacement which just brings the same problems. It's a game that has 1-0 written all over it!

Been ok,without threatening too often.Definitely get Lazetic on for his buzyness and height.Often the only option on,has been a lob into the box

He's been okay. Neither booking was required, a simple telling off would have done. For their booking, Aouchiche played for the freekick rather than take the ball on, and I think those should never be rewarded with a booking for the opponent. For Jensen's, it was a case of maybe using his arm a bit, but there was still a fifty-fifty race for the ball, and not a booking. There's been a few little ones where it looks like he hasn't got a handle on things, but not too bad. I'd put him at the level of Molloy in our team!

Showaddywaddy on the Saints jukebox....🤭

Knoester's injury there, we were readying Dorrington. Given Molloy is on the park, surely we should have been looking to be more attacking and taking Keskinen on, and shifting Molloy back? Obviously a moot point, but quite telling.

Christ. Can't do anything these days....

Get the fucking subs on before we actually lose one

Poor second half so far. Shinnie has been poor too. Need more in midfield, not just a new 9.

We need subs. Brutal second half so far.

Yep, should have been at least a double sub

Ffs. How did we miss.

We are being completely over run in midfield. Need changes!

Even god agrees with me.

Just to clarify, St Mirren goal ruled out for offside, but it was subjective cos it was a challenge, hence the VAR check.

Anyway, Jensen man. Bury that.

Harsh, came back to him quickly on his wrong foot. Armstrong was the one that had to be finishing the chance.

Anyway, subs on, need to start pressing higher.

They are shaky at the back. Game could go either way.

Similar to the Motherwell game. We haven’t been bad but cannot lose this game.

Fucking hell, we're not giving red cards for that are we?

It’s a clear kick at palaversa. Now does the red inspire us or them??

Why are we still covering Baccus with the number 9? Push forward for fuck sake.
