Jute Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 Format of Scottish Cup confirmed. Our Defence starts on 17th January. Quote
RicoS321 Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 Surely it can't be long until they ruin this tournament? How about an East of Scotland league format, where each of the 16 teams plays one another four times. West of Scotland just plays three times because their side is rainier. With the scum playing each other twice in a separate "Champions" division. Winners from East division play each of the West division top four a further seven times (and vice versa), with the top three from both sections merging with the top two in the champions division to setup the quarter finals. Those quarter finals will take place on a Tuesday at midnight to suit Yemeni television - with whom the SFA have signed a lucrative deal said to be worth in the region of 1M Yemeni Rials. The winners will proceed to the semi finals, but not before the losers go through the Plate path, where there's a second chance for those clubs to play for the Scottish Plate. After last year's debacle, ticket allocation for the final will go through a fairer route, with allocation calculated based on proximity to Hampden. The closer you're home ground is to Hampden, the larger the allocation - last season's Scottish cup would have seen a far fairer 97% allocation for Celtic for example. This method will also be used to decide a winner in case of a draw, rather than the ridiculous lottery of a penalty shootout. 1 Quote
tom_widdows Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 Tic and SEVCO have had their hampden allocations cut by 500 seats each due to fans using pyros. Id like to think the next time they play each other there 1000 seats will be unscrewed and put into storage Quote

Reckon we'll still win it. 1 hour ago, tom_widdows said: Tic and SEVCO have had their hampden allocations cut by 500 seats each due to fans using pyros. Motherwell were also punished although their 800 reduction is suspended. You're allowed to do what you like in the Scottish Cup. Quote

Jute Posted Sunday at 06:02 Author Report Posted Sunday at 06:02 Results from yesterday’s games. In usual SFA style one of the results above is wrong Dunbar United lost 4-2 to Cumnock after being 2-0 up. Wigtown v Camelon was postponed after a Camelon player collapsed with a suspected heart attack before the game. He had to be given CPR on the pitch and is now recovering in hodpital. Surprise of the round for me was Invergordon of North Caledonian league beating Dunipace of East of Scotland Premier league. Dunipace have started league well winning 5 out of first 6 and would have expected them to easily beat even best team in North Caledonian league. 1 Quote
Jute Posted Sunday at 06:23 Author Report Posted Sunday at 06:23 Meant to say draw for first round is tonight at 6pm and SFA’s YouTube channel. Quote
