It should be the Sunday, so it would be at 3pm to help our ticket sales.

However, likely Premier will take the Celtic game, BBC's slot is Saturday usually, so lunchtime or 5:15pm would be my guess.

But either way I'm buzzing for this game. 

Hopefully half 12 on the Saturday cause I also have a gig to go to that  night 🤩

Surely to fuck the national cup semis should both be on at 15:00? Fucking 12:30 on a Saturday is a pain in the fucking ringpiece.

I'm old enough to remember the semis both being at 3pm on a Saturday. Certainly Aberdeen v Hibs at Tynecastle was being played at the same time as Hearts v Rangers at Celtic Park in 1993.

That may have been the last year they did it. After that was moved back to Hampden so had to play different days, then TV took over.

Why not? If football is truly about football, and religion isn't a part of the equation,  then it shouldn't matter what day each team plays.

Regardless, I'm sure the catholic churches of Glasgow would love to welcome 60,000 patrons through their doors, but alas I'm pretty sure many Celtic fans have never stepped foot in a church

Premier Sports said on Sunday they had both semi finals. 

The Sunday game attracts the biggest audience which is why it is usually Celtic 

I bet most of their fans don't even know it is Easter Sunday haha 

It was much more fun when both were played at the same time but those days are gone 

At least its not BBC1 on a Monday evening!! 

Any idea when they're announcing which day is which?

Daughter's playing football on the Sunday so hoping for the Saturday.

Yes but one of the semis is also shown on the BBC, just like the final will be on both premier & BBC.

The BBC slot is usually Saturday lunchtime.

How does it work, given premier have both semi final games? Do premier get to choose one game that is exclusively theirs,  then the BBC have to take the other? Or do premier just take both and the BBC picks one too? In other words, is there a chance they both show the Tims? I take it there isn't any upside for premier to choose our game, because they'll get a portion of viewers from other parts of the country/world that aren't accessible to the BBC because of the 8 billion Tims? In that case, they get all our viewers, plus the Tims not using Scottish cooncil telly.

Yes, both could show the Celtic game.

Premier's contract is they show both semis but get one of them exclusively to them, the other also goes on the BBC. Normally, by default they pick any game involving Celtic or Rangers. It's why it makes me laugh when Celtic & Rangers are kept apart in the semi draw and everyone cries conspiracy (like last season). Premier would have been gutted because an old firm final is free on the BBC so they can't "sell" that game as much, they want them to meet in the semi when it's exclusively to them.

Anyway, back to this year. Celtic likely is the default, but I think many can see Hearts/Aberdeen is the bigger game that is generating more interest, so this time it's a bit of guess work. 

If it's on the BBC it won't be Saturday night as scheduling reasons mean they can't, so it could only be that time if that's premier's game and they push for an evening game. 

However, I don't think an evening kick-off will be on the table, think it's more likely to be Sat lunchtime or Sun afternoon. Dunno which one suits us best to be honest - the Sunday being Easter Sunday will be a pain travel wise, and lunchtime is always a pain.

Well since you work for the BBC can you ask them for Saturday lunchtime for us please since that is what suits me best 😊
