I wouldn't be so sure about the earnings, but in any case, that's not the point. A few people have jumped on this guy's back before he's even set foot inside Pittodrie for having the nerve to say what we all know anyway: that the best AFC can hope for most seasons is a 3rd-place finish.
Being happy with that does not necessarily make you some sort of mercenary. The vast majority of players who sign for new clubs know that their club is unlikely to win silverware: there simply isn't enough to go round. Nothing in what he's said suggests that he's only interested in the money. As I pointed out above, being interested in consistent 3rd place finishes is far more likely to be linked to footballing reasons than financial ones: regular opportunities for European football; potential for a cup win as the domestic 3rd force etc.
Simply put, if this guy is decent and is happy to join us for footballing reasons, then I'd love to see him lining up alongside Zander; and I find it absolutely unbelievable that some people are already prepared to crucify him on the basis of a very one-sided interpretation of a dodgy translation from the internet.
Completely agree, was going to say the same thing. Well said

I see Craig Levein has been fined £5000 by the SFA over the behaviour of that cunt mcurry.

Nor dutch.
Actually there is a Dutch version of the name

Sven isnt really much of a Belgian name is it?
Stuart is not a very Japanese name though is it
-
That would be correct, here's another

According to this website, we're after him.

I reckon he was the mysterious belgian that failed to appear the other week. Fits the bill, CB, free agent, but I can't remember his time at ADO.

A knee specialist? A second more informed opinion on something that cropped up in a routine medical.
This comes as a genuine surprise, it smacks of erm, the medics doing their jobs!
Well, to be honest, its not like they don't get the practical experience at Pittodrie is it
-
If he scores more, good on him. If not, time to say bubye Darren! You've had ten years to show us what you can do. When are you gonna prove to us that you are the striker you say you are?
I think its safe to assume he will get 15 goals this season. Always happens when his contract is up.

This was posted on MAD, apparently from WM, but they were unsure and hadn't posted a sauce so take it with a pinch of salt but i'd hope this was true.
this newspaper printed an article related to Aberdeen Football Club that was factually incorrect. It has caused the club a lot of problems and extra workload today, fielding calls and emails from irate fans and having supporters threatening not to renew season tickets and to boycott matches or protest in other ways. It's not the first time this newspaper has printed inaccuracies, in fact plain lies about our club, so I think it is time we took action'
-
Was in the paper this morning that he is flying up tomorrow to have a medical and that it is expected he will go straight into the squad
folk on MAD were saying this is because AFC couldn't get the required medical staff in. I.e. he's going to have a very stringent medical to ensure his knee will hold, personally, should this not be done with any player anyway?
-
Excruciating, isn't it? In fact, it's fucking embarrassing. 30 goals between four strikers is dismal, you should be looking to get 30 goals a season from your midfielders!
roll on this season
-
30 Goals between FOUR strikers? If they can't reach that they should be sacked there and then. Not a high target at all.

The club emailed me back, albeit with the statement included within the email, but I have since replied and apologised whilst urging them to stick to their guns on the matter! HAPPY NOW
-
As much as it would be hugely annoying the club may have very little choice.
Probably so, I was more alluding to the fact from my p.o.v that i've always felt they were useless.
Edit: I now apologise and admit I jumped the gun! Keep it up AFC
-
? ? ?, I've always thought the club was run by clowns I wouldn't be surprised if they did "cave in" but as I said, I will apologise if the club does not do what I think it will. Furthermore, I have praised the club and emailed them to congratulate them on such matters, these are the only times they ever respond.
-
The silence is deafening.
Who'll be the first to bite the bullet and admit they got it wrong? Place your bets...
If and when that happens then I will send an email apology to the club. If they were so angered by the "press reports" surely they would have acted sooner?
-
How old is this cunt? Do we have to put up with his shite much longer?

This video is doing my fuckin head in. I click on play, wait for about a minute, then it plays the first four seconds nice ans smoothly. The rest of it, though, is just still-shots but with sound. Been trying for half an hour to get this to work. My connection speed ain't the issue. And the version of IE I'm using ain't a problem either.
Anyone downloaded the video yet? Anyone got an alternative download link so that I can actually watch it?
I had the same problem, bloody annoying!
-
What a farce. The club is run by a bunch of clowns. Have sent them an email informing them of the damage they are doing to the club and they are turning Aberdeen fans off from attending games etc... I don't expect a response. I've only ever received one reply, funnily enough when I was praising the club...
-
I am using FF. But didn't work when I tried in IE or when I opened the link in Media Player.
Might have to update your IE or your Media player. I think its minimum media player 10 these days. Don't quote me on that though!
-
Frankly, I'd tell him to get fucked.
Seriously, how would you feel if you asked your bird to marry you, only to be told that she was waiting for a better offer to come along, but if nothing better shows up, she just might be generous enough to say yes?
The only reason he should be coming up here again is to apologise to the fans for being an avaristic, money-grabbing whore, before flying back down to whatever shithole it is that he owns property in south of the border.
I completely agree with this. Tell him to feck off. I know some people say that we're not in a position to say this, but fuck it. What do we owe him? Nothing. He didn't like what we had to offer and fecked off elsewhere, it hasn't worked out for him, not our problem anymore.

Video doesn't work for me.
Are you using Firefox? Because it didn't work for me, then I switched to media player and it played, albeit it jumped a lot. Good from what I could see though!

Jimmy’s secret signing targets
Four goals not enough

NO DEAL: Dyon Camero won't be offered a contract.

ABERDEEN boss Jimmy Calderwood has stepped up his efforts to make at least two more signings ahead of the big SPL kick-off.
Calderwood missed the 10-0 thrashing of Dutch amateur side Rietvogels as he was believed to have been holding signing talks.
Darlington striker Tommy Wright is expected at Pittodrie on Monday to complete his £75,000 switch, but trialist Dyon Camero won’t be joining him, even after his four goal salvo in the rout.
Calderwood also hopes to add a central defender to his squad before their opening SPL clash with Inverness Caley Thistle at Pittodrie a week tomorrow.
Aberdeen have already confirmed they are on the trail of a mystery Belgian centre-back.
Calderwood was expected back at their base at Delden today after leaving assistant Jimmy Nicholl in charge.
Calderwood was then expected to tell Dutchman Camero his goal feast against Rietvogels won’t earn him a contract.
Nicholl said: “Big Dyon scored his goals, and we will soon find out if it’s good enough.
“The manager will make that decision when he gets back.â€
The likeable Camero seemed resigned to his fate after doing his best to impress the sizeable crowd, which included former Dons keeper Theo Snelders and his son, Ryan.
Camero said: “My performance could have been a lot better, but I got tired.
“I don’t know if it will be enough, it’s now up to the coach. I did my best.â€
The Dons could only list 14 players for the game because of a growing list of injuries.
Defenders Zander Diamond, Lee Mair, Andrew Considine, Richard Foster and Charlie Mulgrew were all unfit, which meant Jamie Smith had to fill in at left-back.
Derek Young, Mark Kerr and Darren Mackie also missed out, but all are expected to face Caley.
The usual no quotes from Jimmy or JN about these two signings but never mind.

I think that looks smart as hell. Even the Team recruitment doesn't seem as offensive

I am quote impressed with him through reading the article and especially that segment. Certainly seems more mature.
At least that'll keep the "we should be aiming to win the league" crowd
