McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form

I have been trying to write this post for days, but still struggle to put down what i want to say in words. Of course i still care for the club. I look back at some of the recent memories with great fondness. But then there are also so many of the lowest points of my life as a football fan it gets quite depressing. This is probably the first season i had little expectation for us to do anything of note. I was very pleased with the signings that have been made, minus velicka, but ultimately, the way the club is run and the apparent ineptitude of our manager to utilise the team to it's few strengths would cause us to have a beige season. If we're lucky. I have become increasingly disillusioned with everything about the club and like baggy am quite grateful i live outside of scotland for the reason being, i don't have to face the fact that our club is dying a very slow and painful death. I still live in hope that the current board come to their senses and try to inject some money in the summer. Their short sightedness after the european season has cost us an incalculable amount of money. This was the moment to build on the team and potentially bigger fan base. That season ended in failure and we have been decline ever since. Your post bloo toon is spot on but as fans, our hands are ultimately tied. I don't know what the answer is but i wish afc would wake the Fuck up. I still love the club but the management on all levels is pushing the fans away. Sort it out!

I hadn't thought about that point maverick and it is a good one at that. What's more worrying is that is so early in the season. I will miss him when he decides to leave, but thats purely because of the potential i knew he had, however as has already been discussed, it has something he has failed to live up to. My summary of zander would be, shame.

You are assuming that this is an organised and competent committee that we are relying on.

If Our Manager Wasn't Mark McGhee...

Right enough. But why sanction the transfer of foster for velicka? What the Fuck. I do agree tho. This board has a huge amount to answer for. -
If Our Manager Wasn't Mark McGhee...

You cannot compare us to copenhagen as they are a team that compete in the champions league. We had a one off successful season in europe and there are other reasons that are not Mcghee's as to why we're not doing that anymore. That said, this is Mcghee's team and he cannot use the excuse of injuries as he's tied the noose himself. i think its a combination of both bobby's post and jager's post. There is no way another manager would have survived last season. It was a disaster and it is painful to see Mcghee now forever linked with it in his career with us. But, we as jager rightly says, have far too many apathetic supporters that just can't give a genuine shit anymore so his job will be safe until the seasons end. I don't blame them, because these have been some incredibly hard times for the fans and the club. -
I kinda want to watch this game on alba now. I couldn't listen to the game for some reason but i can't say i saw this result coming. This is a pish league and we are not performing in it. Its embarrassing. Sort it out Mcghee!

Add to that, that those around him haven't been exactly stable centre halves themselves, well since Anderson left at least. It's not an excuse, because if you want to succeed you find ways to learn no matter what the circumstances. But I do agree, he has regressed and I'm not sure why. Maybe he thinks he's better than AFC. Well he'll find out next season.

I'm sure you're correct. Either way, my mate who was a Bantam loved Jess

Liverpool about to kick off against Utrecht. Can see them struggling. Utrecht are a rugged side and seem to be playing some decent football this season. First game against an English side.
-
Exactly, we cannot afford to rush these two back. We need them back fully fit, no point in putting them back into the team if its just going to flare up their injuries again.
-
Barcelona struggle against kazan. They could easily and should have knicked it in the last min as well! Huns one up with naismith scoring. Spit. Cunt.

In/Oot: Oot Prematch: flat Match: Hopefully flat, listening to the game. Post Match: Mates birthday Prediction: 1-0 Vernon

Really? That does make me lol. Good win for Arsenal last night. I'd imagine going to belgrade is pretty daunting as an away team.
-
Tough choice between the obvious trio, but I think I will give it to Maguire. Played far better than I expected him too and showed promise and improvement. I just hope he uses that performance as a springboard to get himself into the position as being one of the most valuable assets in the team, especially one that currently is lacking creativity. Good start Maguire, now keep it up!

Indeed, from what I've seen of Folly, he goes about his business very quietly and does a lot of tidying up. Think he could turn out to be a very shrewd signing by McGhee. Whisper it, but Vernon certainly looks to be like the striker we could have been looking for for years. He seems very aware and certainly knows where the goal is. I doesn't bother me that he doesn't do much else. There were positives from yesterday, obviously it was very disappointing to lose and certain players, who have been mentioned, really need to buck up their ideas. I know I mentioned it in another thread, but plaudits to Maguire. I thought he held up the ball pretty well yesterday and put in a great ball for Vernon to score. More of that every week please Maguire!

I hate the huns.

McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form
manc_don replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Maguire actually played well and Diamond was honking today. Fair enough your stat exists stoney but i would argue that had Maguire not played, we would have no where near been as positive as we'd have been today. I genuinely felt we were unlucky today. Just outdone by shocking defending. Again. -
We were shite in defence today. Shame, but i thought we played ok. Just conceded at the wrong times. Maguire played alright today.
-
All fair points but he didn't need to kick the ball. Sky were reporting this morning that the premier league released a statement saying that the referee had given the signal for the kick to be taken and therefore the goal should stand. It doesn't have to be signalled the whistle. Its one of those goals that had it happened to us i'd be raging but as a neutral, i can see why it was given.
-
Aye Ptayles, don't know What turner was doing there! The referee was right to give the goal i think. Player touched the ball where the free kick was given. Sloppy!
