Feels like I could start this thread the same as the previous. The only positive being we’re at home, although we’re now also the managerial team down which should be a positive too.
Regardless, I’m not looking forward to this one. Hilariously they’ve complained about a terrible window, but not sure they can complain compared to ours. We’ve really shot ourselves in the foot and with injuries, we’re not even more stretched. Be intrigued to see if we still end up with duk today, it’s the sort of game we need him to turn up in but it’s not something he’s really done this season. will be interesting to see what we do line up wise, there’s not really that many options available to us.

That's because you're not a Hibs fan. My mate described it as a ridiculous obsession with a 4-4-2, that he refuses to change even when it's clear it's not working and doesn't suit many of the players. Which, sounds familiar.
It’s just funny because that’s not what he set up at CCM. Far from it, so I was surprised to read from a hibbie mate that he appears wedded to it.
I did actually have a thought the other day whether we should bring glass back but with the right back room staff this time. But maybe that’s because being a dons fan is fucking miserable at the moment.
-
I see there's chat from ABZ that the FMB were surprised the fans weren't happy with how the season had been thus far. What world are they living in? Failed in Europe, didn't show up for the LC, shite in the league and SC? remains to be seen.

Neil is hated by Sunderland fans for fucking off to Stoke when he had got them promotion and recruited the team for the Championship. His team actually played really good football and up until him leaving the way he did their fans loved him.
Wasn't he pish at PNE and Norwich (as well as Stoke)?

Positive thing is we’re playing at home, negative being Robson is still our manager. Fail to win this and I’d imagine it’s going to get very nasty. I’ve seen there’s talk of a protest before hand? Hopefully wh smiths has plenty of post-it’s available.
anyway, we genuinely need a result here, given the next two games are against the cheeks (home and away). They’re also above us in the table so if we have any desires of making the top 6 (yuck), then this is exactly the sort of game we should be getting results at.
Rubi is out for a while, but I’d hope we stick to the back 4 for this one. Doc has them generally playing pretty well, so I don’t think he’ll struggle to outthink Robson. A 4-1 demolition of livi will have given them a lot of confidence. Will be interesting to see what if anything changes for this. He needs to stop subbing Barron off, that’s for sure.

John Collins - I think it says a lot that he hasn't been hired by anyone. Granted, he may not even be like looking. His last job in football (unless I'm missing something) was eight years ago as Celtic assistant.
Alex Neil is similar. Fans only remember the good times (Hamilton and Norwich in his case). Sunderland and Stoke fans hate him and Charlton fans have scoffed at being linked to him - having seen more of his football than we have over the past few years.
I genuinely have no idea who we should go for. And I don't think the board do too.
My fear is Jack Ross. Has many admirers at the club, and was very close to getting it before Goodwin. They'll see his Newcastle academy role as a positive.
Likewise Norwich with Neil. Most fans I suspect are only remembering his time in Scotland. He’s pish. We made the wrong call when there were a decent number of managers available and here we are, with an even shiter pool to look at. It’s going to be really interesting (hopefully for the right reasons), who we go for. Surely to fuck he doesn’t last the season.
-
We’re winning fuck all. Not with this clown in charge. You say the sooner we get rid the better, but that won’t happen until the end of the season at best I reckon. Maybe Bonnyrigg will do us a favour…

Lining himself up for the national job?

Who is this Campbell some folk seem to be mentioning online? Have I missed something? Seriously concerning if we’re not looking to strengthen this window. Or maybe do the board not trust him?

Hearts have been terrible in their last five games. Twice they have had to fight back from 2-0 down against Ross County and Dundee, both at Tynecastle. They were minutes away from being taken to extra-time by Spartans.
Forget the record at Tynecastle, it's a winnable game against a vulnerable team.
I just don't see Aberdeen turning up.
Don’t disagree with any of that. I think your last sentence rings true with my point about shooting ourselves in the foot. We won’t perform because we’re hindered by a lunatic.

Not looking forward to this at all. The record for both teams in the away fixture is pretty grim reading, but given our incompetent manager and consistently shooting ourselves in the foot, it can only be damage limitation. The draw with st Johnstone did nothing for us. Yes we gained a place but in the grand scheme of things, no football was played, we don’t have a style of play, and we don’t have a managed that knows how to change things up positively.
can see him trying for a 5 at the back for this one, lord know 5 in the middle didn’t work as we’ve no wingers, so he’ll use that as an excuse to “shore” things up at the back. Roos seems to have completely lost the plot this season too.

Agreed and I would probably include McGarry in there unless we can convert him to a left winger as just don’t see a defender in there.
Absolutely where we should deploy him. He did well for the nix further forward. Failing that, no real point in him being with us.

Seems like Motherwell are about to sign ex nix RB, Callan Elliot. Good player, fell out with the club for one reason or another and ultimately neither party wanted to yield. Good young player, disappointed he left the club but think he’s still got a bit of learning to do. Good engine on him and a good crosser of the ball. Could be a good pick up.

Family trip out to Sumner beach today, which is a nice part of Christchurch. Spent the long weekend down here from Wellington. Averaging 30 degrees for us here with a high of 34 fortunately that day I was in the local office so airconditioned and my boys found a good shaded pool! Such a family friendly city, they really are making the most of having to reset after the earthquakes. Just wish it wasn’t such a car heavy city. Or full of cantabs

Playing a potter team at home, and given their embarrassment at the weekend, I fully expect a 4-6-0 formation from him. Barry will probably overthink this one and it’ll be a dire 0-0, which will help neither team. Embarrassingly, they’re also not far from us in the league so we absolutely need to be getting 3 points here. Anything less should be sackable.
concerned that we don’t seem to hear any news of incoming transfers when we clearly lack options off the bench to offer anything different. So again, I’m failing to see anything other than a draw here.

I watched stenny tear Clyde apart a few weeks ago. Should've scored five in the first half.
It's a win but it's not a convincing one.
Hardly fills you with confidence but we’re through to the next round which is the main thing.
-
The good thing is a couple of their new boys are out cup tied for this one, so should help to destabilise their improved form of late.
-
As is typical, Scotland has had more winter weather at the end of the "winter" break. Will be interesting to see how that develops over the next month
Clyde aren't in great form, so can see this being a pretty poor game but with goals. Especially since the man in the opposing dugout is the bin man, so i'd expect very little football to be played given their location in the league pyramid. They have had an uptick in form since McCall took over, so it’s going to make it interesting who actually gets a result here. Even though it should be us comfortably and they’re conceding goals every game.
Understand that there is a fan zone being set up?
We need to progress, or mentally, it'll be a thing that we can't navigate this round. I don’t care how, but progress we must.

This guy is being linked with us by some on twitter, but i've no idea about the validity of it:
Recent loan signings aren't overly inspiring.

Are the club on holiday? I know they were saying they predicted a quiet window, but thought we'd hear / see some movement by now?
