Happy with that, thought Iâd heard the name before and probably due to him playing in NL earlier in his career. Captained sides so obviously a leader, good signing on paper. Sounds like habib gueye on his way too? Not overly enamoured by his stats, but hopefully the guys know what theyâre doing.

Richard Jenssen, Finnish international central defender from Gornik Zabrze. Medical apparently done, now just waiting for work permits. He plays on the left, so sounds like our interest in Scales has finnished (sorry, couldn't resist)
Here's me thinking we're just getting started

Huns currently 2-2 with PSV. how the fuck do they manage to raise their game so much?

So, Jamie McGrath then
Can't say it excites me and strikes me a a lazy signing, but I'll give him a chance as I do for anyone joining the famous.
Apologies about the source:
Underwhelmed would be an understatementÂ

It's 3 or 4 players away from being decent. A centre midfielder could transform into a good side. We know how it is with transfers. Personally, I'd have met the asking price for Scales a few weeks ago given the money we're taking in. Maybe McGarry might be amazing. Or Or Dadia.
It's the way it goes though, transfers are difficult to complete in a timely manner. Who knows how many we've missed out on and how close they were. We could already be down to the dregs.
What the hell is going on with Or Dadia btw? I donât recall an interview with him when he arrived and hasnât been seen on the pitch since the Charlton friendly? Did they say he was seriously unfit?

Interesting comment from Alan Burrows on Twitter, saying the capacity of Pittodrie these days is 18,800, and that it'll be lower than that for European games.
I think itâs all down to the council not approving areas of the merkland? I know the UA have complained about it. Then at uefa I think you have to have a set distance from the pitch?Â

I would love and hate that. I have such a huge soft spot for la viola.Â
Snap, and also a cracking city. Iâd hate to miss out on that one Â

Watched Hacken 3-2 IK Sirius. Hacken won it through an own goal in the 96th minute.
Wasn't impressed with Hacken at all. Sirius (who are 12th in the Swedish league) played a back five which Hacken struggled with, just knocking it aimlessly before launching balls into the box. That the Sirius' defence was pretty gash is how Hacken eventually got through.
But at the other end Sirius would play long balls down the side to their two front men, drill it across the box, and the home defence really struggled. They scored two and could have had more. At 2-1 up they hit the post and had a goal ruled out for offside, but replay appeared to show he was on (no VAR).
Aberdeen can definitely get goals on Thursday. Hacken do have a few players with good movement and we're not defending too solidly just now, but if Hacken play like that against us we've got a chance.Â
Yasss, the optimism I was looking for!

Have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed that the man city fans didnât end the game yesterday by singing âSaudi Arabia is oursâ. Weird, given it was the terrorists derby.

Japan have been technically excellent for some time but have lacked a spark of creativity required to get wins regularly. They found this spark in Miyazawa who is just an exceptional talent.Â
A joy to watch and wouldnât be out of place in many menâs teams imo.Â
Âaussie looked spent last night and were lucky to lose by only the two in all fairness. Tonightâs match should be a cracker I reckon.

That's a great deal - let me know if you enjoyÂ
Have to say, I fucking loved that film. We hired out the screen so was like watching with a bunch of mates. Think the blokes possibly laughed harder than the women, although most of the women had seen it at least once. Very well cast and great references to other films.

First of our European games this season and not sure the team are quite ready for it. We've played Hacken before under Glass and won, but I think it's widely agreed that we caught them cold that time around. Current Swedish champions and beat Vilnius 8-1 on aggregate, so they'll be no pushovers. Regardless, i'm jealous of all those going, miss those euro games being this side of the world now.
Will still be too early for McGarry, but it was quite clear our left side is our weakest side so somehow, we'll probably have to keep it tight to try and make a proper go of it at Pittodrie. Not sure how we do that just yet, but try we must. We've got a few players that are not playing in their ideal position and we're clearly also lacking a few others. Will we see Scales? I'd hope we see the same intensity we saw against the tims, and then we might have a chance.

2-1 Hacken, Clarkson -
Only caught the second half, but up until we scored the second, we looked comfortable. We make a couple of subs and then weâre all at sea and they pull one back. Our left is shite, so hopefully McGarry helps resolve a bit of that. Sokler really should have scored what was essentially an open goal, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt that the ball was at an awkward height. Duk didnât do much, but our midfield was powder puff. Excellent strike by Clarkson though, some power behind it.Â
ÂWeâre through to the next round which is the most important thing, but christ, Häcken will not be fearing us in the slightest. weâve so much still to do transfer wise, but I suspect itâll be too much to do.

Gutted, thatâs a huge shame.

Shame, probably would have been the perfect time to test him, but that does make sense. Last thing we'd need is for him to pick up a knock by being thrown in too quickly.

He does only have a year left on his deal. Same with polvara. We could defo do with extending these two prontoÂ
I think we'd all be surprised if he was still with us next season, but definitely don't want to lose him this. If we're giving Polvara minutes this season, we really need to tie him down.

Would have been worse for me if aus had made the final. So thank you for your sacrifice

Good to see Rhys Williams lining up for the development team tonight.

Polvara defo starting to look like a shrewd bit of business by glassÂ
I really want it to work out for him. Seems to have his head screwed on. Donât think we can rely on him completely as heâs still young, but happy to see him get a decent chunk of minutes over the season. Started well so far.

In sadder news, I see shankland is being linked with the Saudi league. Hearts will be quids in.

Are we doing a separate match thread for Stirling or just extending this one?
It's a good fixture to have because we'll likely have McGarry making his debut and McDonald, and possibly Williams, getting minutes after injury. Â So good to have them doing it here rather than away to (likely) Hacken.
That said, be harsh to drop Duncan after a promising showing v Celtic. But I guess with two games a week coming up there'll be plenty of game time for everyone. Would like McGarry and McDonald to get 45 minutes at least in what is essentially a second pre-season for them.
Was going to start a new thread in all honesty, but actually quite like the simplicity of it, so quite happy to keep this one unless there's a desire for it's own separate thread?

Been quite amusing seeing the number of mentions poor Burrows gets on Twitter. Fair fucks to the guy for responding to as many as he does! Am I a bit concerned with whatâs left, yes, but sure as hell donât think the club arenât aware of it
