Hopefully. The fewer players that plot a successful path after leaving our youth setup without playing a first team game, the better. Of course, there are plenty of personal reasons why he might want, or need, to move on, that we're not party to so it's not a criticism of his decision. From an Aberdeen perspective, it's best that he tails off into significance in the same way as someone like Grimmer (whilst still having a great career).

Really thought grimmer would push on from his Fulham days. But I agree, better that the pathway is a weak one whereas one sticking at the club proves to be successful. Do need to start pulling more academy boys through for that to happen though…

  2. I think it’s sort of a win win situation for the club. Turns out to be false, we’ve still got him (my preference for another season), or he leaves for a decent fee and it’s further proof that the clubs strategy is paying dividends. Having to sign a replacement isn’t ideal, but maybe that player is teklic?

  3. Money is tight at the moment so I'm going to probably have to ditch it. The hike last season was pretty horrendous but justifiable as the content was vastly better, but this is even worse. Shame, but will have to use other means.

Has anyone else been pondering how Robson is thinking on Stewart and besuijens return from loan?  I'm fascinated to see what happens with both 2bh.

With Vinny the talent is there but I have a question mark over attitude right now. He clearly spat the dummy about being benched by Goodwin but who knows what else was going on behind the scenes 🤷‍♂️.  He's on the record as saying he wouldn't have left if knew Goodwin was on borrowed time.

There's defo no attitude problem with Stewart though 2bf and at the time putting him out on loan made a lot of sense.  He had become a major target for the fan base and it made it easy to install Shinnie as captain which needed to happen.

It has crossed my mind though that he may still have his uses.  I can't help but feel that not being asked to play it out from the back constantly would suit him, as would not having the pressure of the armband. His best work in red was when he was just trying to get in the way of the ball and that's essentially what Pollock was doing when he was here.

Don't get me wrong here though folks, I'm not advocating for keeping Stewart and I get that after his first spell it would be a fairly long road back for him with the fan base.  I just wonder if Robson may have another look at him now all the dust has settled on the failings of the previous campaign.

Definitely leaning towards this as he wasn’t the donkey some folk made him out to be. Still think it would be best for both parties if we parted ways, but we need more CBs at the moment and as you said, he did the basics well. In the semi, he played well until that moment of utter madness tbf.

re Vinny, I’m happy he’s back. Goodwin clearly didn’t know how to manage the club so I’m hoping we see a reinvigorated Vinny. Less sticky toffee though please.

He said player singular. Getting us all excited over nothing Manc!

Smart money suggests it's Graeme Shinnie, which is terrific cos without Declan Rice I can't see West Ham being able to handle our midfield next season.

Ffs, so it was. Could have sworn it said players but you’re right. Singular and smart money on shinnie.

  6. On Twitter but not someone I’ve seen lie before, so will give them the benefit of the doubt for now. They drove past cormack park and saw a number of players with scarves above their head.  Wasn’t sure who 🤷‍♂️ Guess we’ll find out tomorrow if there is any truth in it as I doubt they’d announce anyone this evening given todays events.

  7. Londongrad, all about the Russian take over of London and the uk being a safe haven for dirty Russian money. Decent from what I’ve listened to so far.

still love the rest is politics, can’t big that up enough.

    Aye saw that Panda

Could turn out to be their greatest contribution to the club.

If we get Williams, let's hope he turns out to be more Danny Ward/Leighton Clarkson than Ryan McLaughlin 😉

How McLaughlin managed to convince people he was a footballer was beyond me. Let alone a club like Liverpool. Kudos to him.

  9. Been watching Barry (about a depressed “vet” now assassin) and fubar (very light hearted and quite 80s but amusing nonetheless). Have finally got round to catching up on the black mirror seasons I’ve missed. Wife isn’t a fan so it’s slow progress.

Pretty sure we have every season since 2004/05.

Definitely feels like we’ve done that for a long time. Was that since we dropped that god awful 3rd party “deal” we used to have?

  11. This team has something special about them. Great to see. Mental how much they’ve come along from thon wizard days. Due to the rain delay I got to watch a bit at work, but typically meetings meant I missed the second 🤣 Looking forward to catching the proper highlights.
