I'm not sure I understand the argument here. On a very crude basis, 10 years = testimonial, yes ? Aside from that simple axiom. What is the damage in doing it ? You set up a game, those who want to come and pay respect..... well, I guess they come. Those who think he is a waste of skin......well, I guess they stay at home. Darren gets a pay out based on the numbers who deem him worthy. The cost to the club is real but surely not inhibitive. Job done. Pissing and moaning about whether he deserves it or not is utterly redundant and self-congratulatory bollocks.

If the question is why do we not want any of our players to leave then I would suggest that you have to consider the fear that most Aberdeen fans have that they will not be replaced by a better version or at all in some circumstances. I am not suggesting that the other elements to the discussion you have put out are invalid but this for me is a very real part of it. When someone posts up 'Seve leaving...' my immediate thoughts are 'we can cope wth that' for the reasons that have been discussed already. However, it is immediately followed by thoughts of 'as long as we use his wage to get someone else in and do the job as well if not better'. All too often I am left fearing we won't, despite sometimes being proved wrong.

The perception of great morale seems to be a recent thing, although I do not have a window into the dressing room so I couldn't be certain. This would suggest that it has been a change in personnel that has brought the improvement. While I don't dispute that the captain may have a role to play in this turnaround its hard to see why it would suddenly have changed due to his work. I'd suggest that the introduction of some new faces and the loss of others has helped galvanise the squad more than a sudden shift in the captains approach.

Possibly, I didn't look into detail. Just made an assumption based on the rest of the set up there. You will have detected my interest in English (strictly speaking Welsh!) football is limited

I'd go Cardiff, its an SPL haven. Was watching the Arsenal game at the weekend and I spotted Kennedy, McCormack, Rae, McNaughton and Burke all playing. I tend to agree with ST on this one. I can see that he has been a quality player for us in spells but not consistently. Despite some good performances this season I'd be wary of assuming this is the long term trend. Ultimately I think we have had the best of him and we have replaced him with a solid and consistent midfield player in Kerr, who is increasingly impressing me with every game. It all comes down to who we would replace him with, if we get that right I'm certain the name Seve would scarcely grace the threads of DT in the future.

They then play each other after we play them both, it will be a crucial month....as always Hearts are away to Hamilton next weekend, they are a team on great form at the moment. I wouldn't be certain of Hearts picking up points there.

What the fuck was Berra up to kicking that dude down and no free kick!!!! Fucking jambo animals

How big a fucking leap is that arseglove making. Problem with articles like this is that they can potentially legitimise the club and police stance on the ultras activities. I find the ultras group a little odious when I end up close to them at away games but the effort they put into creating some character in our support is a good thing for the club in my opinion.

The exact spot on correct answer. A few 'meaningful' fixtures in recent times are not a guiding principal for decision making, commercial acumen and massive debt however.........

Do you think you might be giving some concrete steps a personality and sense of glory that might be construed as mildly hysterical ? Just a thought like.....

Aside from the fact that Pittodrie is not blessed with much in the way of atmosphere at any time there was always something to be had when the away fans were in the beach end and the more 'active' fans all sat close to them in the SS. I'm talking late 80's, you might have been nothing but an ingredient in Jimmy's chicken

Takes a special kind of skill to type and bum someone at the same time, fair play to the lad for proving us blokes can multi-task after all

Tell that to Hull City after Millwall visited

If this means that the atmosphere in the south stands picks up then it will be a good thing, despite the annoyance of the Cemaphor Reds shoving their flags in your way. There seems to be a steady creep of fans wanting to relocate from the RDS to the SS. Would be good to go back to the good old days of a SS with noise and a decent bounce

ICT equaliser FFS LSC score again

I liked the look of Kerr today. Considering the huns had an extra man in the middle he did an excellent job of scrapping to win the ball and hold off the hun midfielders. It was a terrible game though. Both teams were poor in the final third.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm not too annoyed about the point from a woeful game. We have held our place around 3rd after 2 OF games, that can't be too bad.
-
He is destroying some Austrian dude just now. won second set 6-0 and is 3-0 up in the 3rd to win it.

Zip it you miserable bastard

There is always a delicate balance between keeping the support upbeat and believing that the club are serious about the challenge or blowing off about how we can catch the OF knowing we could get caught with our pants down as we have so many times in the past. I agree with Funster, JC is doing a significantly better job of handling his messages through the media and coupled with a more settled team, confidence is high. I prefer the Aberdeen that show humility and quiet confidence and just get on with the job. Best we don't get ahead of ourselves until 2:15 tomorrow, then we can start the bravado in earnest NB. Lest we forget, one of the main reasons we detest the LSC so much is the way they carried on when Romanov/Burley started to put a serious challenge in at the top of the table.

Last two sell outs against these scumfucks - 2-0 Dons

I doubt his presence will be pivotal. If we turn up and play to form they will not have enough to resist us. I personally cannot fucking wait for this game. I have booked Santa TV just for the occassion

I understand where you two are coming from and I would respect your desire for privacy if I was in the position of being able to access details. However, I have to agree a little with Jager. Anything you do on the internet has to come with a degree of responsibility for your own actions or words. You can bounce around forums/download sites etc with the belief that you are not able to be traced but it's a pretty naive viewpoint. You are pitching yourself into a public community with complex and blurred lines and legal boundaries with regards to privacy and there will always be those who will have an interest in finding out more about you. Its a natural function of your opinions -the stronger they are the more impact they have and this will lead to intrigue as to who you are. If you honestly believe that you can stop this force from bearing down on you then fair play, keep going for it. Otherwise, don't get involved.

Is this your relationship or a trip to the footie ?
