I would agree with the Brian Irvine comment BB. He is remembered with affection due to his honest commitment ot the team and to the game in general but I used to hate seeing him on the field, he was a scare more often than not. Possibly due to the era he followed. Another controversial one but I never liked Bobby Connor. Thought he was completely ineffective as a player but again possibly due to the company he kept....oh, and that god awful cock duster.

You're right there. Its always going to be a game of risk, as with any investment. It might turn out to be the best move or the worst, you just have to look at it and make a decision. Personally, I'd still see him worthy of investment unless, as you say its a limited set of offers in which case there are certainly more deserving cases.
