Only problem is that sort of sensible, medium to long term thinking simply does not exist in the minds of any agents and very few footballers. As a career, football is all about now and agents have to be some of the most myopic fuckers in any business context.
Low ebb at Tannadice.
Can't afford £200K comp. Did they not get that at least for CL ? Pretty poor show.
Fancy the jags to steam them out the cup tomorrow.
EE is in the business of selling copy, not negotiating in todays incredibly volatile and challenging market place.
The hat is......well its the hat for fuck sake.
Cool your boots before you have our new team sheet written for tomorrows game.
We know that sort of posturing will always follow specualtion, managers, agents etc do their negotiations in the media as much as behind closed doors. However, like I said, it is unlikely to come off for sure.
You read me wrongly ally. I have been complimentary of them myself and believe it to be a loss to the atmosphere at Pittodrie. When I say minutes applause, it is a tongue-in-cheek remark relating to their demise and it being marked with respect along with closing the Y section (I would have typed minutes silence but that doesn't seem to be convention these days!)
No intention to insult whatsoever!
If ZD is still a sellable asset then it makes sense to punt him and take cash now. If we could also get Barr then he is likely to be another sellable asset (albeit, a chunk going to Falkirk) as well as a reasonable repacement. It makes good business sense although a little disruptive on the football side. Find it hard ot see Barr coming to Pittodire unless Falkirk are in control (unlikely) and the prospect of getting McDonald rather than nothing swings it.
I won the grand about 6 months ago and they sent the cheque to my old address. They called me when the cheque came back so I would say they are pretty honourable about winners.
Its a shame because after his recent run of results surely the job is his for the taking
On a more positive note for them they are lining up some pretty heavy hitters. The old ex-player can do no wrong despite only being on the staff at Fulham or an Eircom League manager which worked so well for Dunfermline. The UTD re-birth looks set to continue with pace
Just goes to show his 'invisible man' tag has well and truly taken root, was it Chris Clark or Barry Nic who was also tagged this way for a while ? Hide-and-seek champion ?
With Kerr and Fyvie playing centrally and then Aluko, Pawlett and Marshall attacking from midfield its hard to see a way back in for MacDonald.
Its all about the strikers. With any sort of decent strike force we would be comfortable in this league, regardless of what people say about our defence.
They always hit the skids about now. Second half season slump and a 6th place finish. Good time to play them, if we play to our abilities then we should compound their misery.
