This non-story aside I was pretty impressed with the loon on Saturday. He was clearly looking to make Samaras aware from early on that he wasn't going to get time on the ball. Shaughnessy was hard but fair in the tackles and Samaras look terrified. Had Shaughnessy been at centre back for the goal things might have been different. A player that I really rate. I wish we had a left back of the same mould.

I had a discussion with 2 hun mates the other day about Rangers' punishment and they were of the opinion that they'd been "punished enough" and that "releagting them to the bottom teir was overly harsh". I did try to explain that they weren't relegated. Their club no longer existed. It was the new club that joined the bottom tier because that's where new clubs join the league structure. Not convinced they grasped what I was saying.

Saturday. 12:30 ko. Sorry guys but this has got let down written all over it for me. Time and time again we've had big games and if we won we could have gone top. I believe there was one at Pittodrie last season and it was a massive let down. This is a real measure of the team this season and the management of DM McInnes. If we can grind out a result I'd be ecstatic and this is one of the poorer Celtic teams of recent times but I've been an Aberdeen fan for too long to get really confident about this one. Glad I went along in the end! It was such a non-Aberdeen-esque performance. We went a goal down straight away (which maybe isn't unlike us) but despite going in at half time still a goal down we were by far the better team. In the second half that continued and when we switched to 4-4-2 they couldn't cope. We looked like we could score every time we went forward. I was annoyed at McCall using the European game as an excuse. 2 games into the season and he's moaning about being tired? Ok a 6 hour flight is maybe not ideal but they had days to recover and at the end of the day it's still just a 6 hour flight? Strange. I thought we were deserved winners and would have won if they'd had a game in Europe or not. I was in the upper deck (so not with the cool folk) so didn't see any vandalism happening. I saw some smoke, aye. I thought the Ultras had let off flares?

I'm with Al. I'm still confident. He's clearly very rusty but is still a handful that defences up here will struggle to cope with. Just needs game time. Having said that I can't remember seeing a slower player. Makes Vern look like Ricky Foster.
