Nah, it was a complete rebuild of pretty much every single part of the site.

Wasn't Shearer in charge of Buckie Thistle recently? Nae sure if he still is and cannae be arsed googling that fact.

Thanks. The rest such as the arcade, topic previews, and Youtube-embedding will be returning in good time.

I can imagine the events right now in the January window. We go for Paterson. Luggy says "who is this lad Paterson? Who does he play for? Ah who cares. Sign him up now before that bastard at Aberdeen does!" Luggy's assistant says "err, he's already on our books, Mr Sturrock" "He is?" remarks a surprised Luggy.

New font? Hmmm, pretty sure it's the same as before. You using firefox? If so, go to the following menus: View > Zoom > Reset Your text might've been slightly larger or smaller than normal

I've just done another upgrade on the site as there were just too many glitches to even contemplate on the old one. There's a few features of the site that are, as such, currently unavailable. Things like youtube embedding and the arcade are not currently active. I will be activating these again over the next few days. Can you all have a good play around with the site and let me know if you spot anything that's not right (or indeed anything that you think is better)? Note, the links at the bottom of each page are back again !

Barthez was amazing when he was up for it. Admittedly some of his performances were shocking, including his attempt at out-witting Di Canio in the FA Cup. But there's countless times Barthez has simply been unbelievable. He's one of these keepers with the ability to catch the ball in situations where the vast majority would be forced to punch the ball away or turn it round for a corner. Barthez just had a knack for making the ball cling to his hands like velcro.

Anyone see the Man Utd vs CSKA Moscow game a couple of days ago? Unbelievable goalkeeping from CSKA's keeper, Igor Akinfeev. Based on that display, if Fergie does eventually move to sign him (as the commentators were saying would happen throughout the match), I reckon ManU would finally have found the quality keeper they've been craving since Peter Schmeichel (although I would say Barthez was equal to Schmeichel, but in different ways in that his strengths were in different areas to Schmeichel's strengths)

How quickly will the the SPL and SFA brush that one under the carpet?

If I were McDonalds and they were Burger King, I'd take note of their warning. However, DT is a non-profit-making fans forum. AFC-Chat is apparently a non-profit-making fans forum. DT has no intention of attempting to sell the domains to AFC-Chat for profit. We're merely taking the piss and have been for about 7 or 8 months now. The fact that they've just noticed it is what's even funnier. But no laws will back their threats up. If there were laws in place to protect random forums, I would've layed a claim against Dons-Mad years ago for taking stand-free.co.uk because, until about two years ago, I was the legal owner of the domain stand-free.com. But I didn't cos I've got too much respect for those guys on Mad, and I also don't really care about fellow Dons fans having a bit of fun.

No. The old chat facility on the afc website was not officially called "AFC Chat". There was a button that said "Chat" on the old site. People referred to the official forum as AFC Chat, but there was never any trademark or copyright around the name "AFC Chat". The guys who set up the unofficial forum "AFC Chat" (ie The Hat) were predominantly ex-chatters from the official site who didn't want to engage with conversations with people from Mad or DT (or Dandydons as we were back then). They can bleat all they want, but nobody holds the rights to "AFC Chat". We are just having a bit of fun by redirecting anyone who misspells the web address for AFC Chat to come across here. Hey, if they decide to find a variation of Donstalk's web address and play with that, who are we to stop them? Neither site is a profit-making site (allegedly) or official organisation, so there are no laws that can tell us what and what not to do with each other's web addresses.

afc accounts 2008/09 - Operating target met

Not to mention the fact we'll have no asset for security on our loans. This new stadium is gonna be the death of Aberdeen FC, imho. -

We should sell sell sell. Play Aluko, Fyvie, Pawlett and Paton as much as we can and get them noticed. Sell them either in January or next summer for AS MUCH as we can, and take things from there. Do what Hibs and Hearts do. Place astronomical transfer fees on their heads. Say "Fyvie is not for sale. It would take a bid in the region of £7million before we'd consider letting him go". Based on that analogy and the behaviour of some ridiculously rich and stupid clubs in England and on the continent, someone would buy him for at least £4m. I know he's worth nowhere near that. Not yet, anyway. But, for once, why can't we just pretend we're better than we really are! -
Sick dons fans steal scarf from grannies shocker!

It's a scarf. It was knitted to be hung from a bridge in one of the wettest parts of the country. Should anyone really care that it's wet? -

See, I don't know who to believe. Fraser says the club is missing out on £3 million over the next three seasons because of the collapsed TV deal. Craig Levein said in today's Scotland on Sunday that most clubs would see a loss of around £700k per year because of the collapse. £2.1million over three years is, in the context of Aberdeen Football Club, a thousand miles away from £3million! Is Levein talking shite? Or are AFC trying to get the excuses in early for the forthcoming year? -
Andy Goram on "Bad Guy" Jim Leighton
Reekie_Red replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
WTF is it with every single contribution I make to the DT conversations being met with "wtf?", "you don't have a clue", or "you're an idiot". Goram WAS a world-class goalkeeper. But he was still nowhere near as good as Leighton. Like Bobby says, Leighton's only fault was his kicking. But the amount of boots he took to his face in the name of laying claim to the ball was astounding, and again like Bobby says, there's very few saves that Leighton didn't hold onto where other keepers would palm it away. -

Andy Goram File Transfer Protocol ? He was a bloody good goalkeeper, but not a patch on Leighton. Hey, we scored five past the ex-Motherwell, ex-Hibs and ex-Elgin twat -

Stewart, yer beginning to sound like a broken record. We've heard this line a thousand times from you now. I've got a photo on my DT archive of you from 2003 infront of Bellfield Farm west of Aberdeen, and you said exactly the same thing back then too! -

Duff, Mackie, Young and Wright to leave?
Reekie_Red replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Nah min. That was me that said that. Paulinho was simply taking what I said into context for his argument's sake - hence the italics in Paulinho's post. I was of the belief (like most of my arguments, I'm sure I read somewhere) that Hibs and St Mirren were the only debt-free clubs in the SPL.
