  1. I've re-enabled the Youtube Embedding facility, but am still working on the automatic embedding. As such, if you want to embed a YouTube video, you'll need to surround the link with [ youtube] and [ /youtube ] (without spaces). This is just whilst I figure out how to re-enable the automatic embedding.

    Arcade

Try the games again. I've managed to increase the play-screen size of all the games (might actually be too big for some screens now!!). K9, quirie, can you both let me know if you can see the games? Anyone else got any problems, let me know
  3. New chat system in place. http://www.donstalk.co.uk/messageboard/chat/ Can I get any budding testers to try this link and see if you can successfully use the realtime chat system?
  4. Yup. I've not added the youtube embedding yet. And I'm still utilising the standard quick-reply, rather than the advanced one that includes smileys etc. These will be gradually added back on over the next day or two. Something that is a priority is the realtime chat. The software I've been using so far (X7 Chat) hasn't been updated by the developers in over a year and is now no longer compatible with the new forum software I've just installed. Currently looking at alternatives, and I hope to have a new chatroom in place for the Motherwell match kickoff
  5. Works fine for me on Firefox. What browser you chaps using?
  6. The site has undergone a major upgrade today. As such, you'll notice some things in different places, and some things don't exist whatsoever (such as the arcade scores, sorry!). I'll gradually be bringing the different features of the site back online over the next 2 days, bit by bit. But if you notice any niggling problems, report them on this thread, or email me on reekie_red at hotmail.com
  7. Good een. "Having a bucket of water tipped over my head as I walk through the door was as funny the 57th time as it was the 1st"
  8. Stick a 1 infront of that figure and I might consider it. Aluko's got two years to run on his contract, is proven at all England youth levels and is now on the verge of becoming a regular with the Nigerian international team. £450k is laughable!
  9. I know many Dons fans who genuinely think that Mackie is a quality striker!

  11. Aye, there's a couple of issues with the hosts of the server at the moment. They're triallling a new traffic-shaping device but have their old traffic-shaping device switched on at the same time as their tests. Think of running a cup of flour through TWO sieves at the same time instead of just one. That's the reason why things are a little bit slow at the moment. Should be resolved within the next week or so when they switch off the old shaping device.
  12. I'd have him in goals for us ANY DAY!
  13. McGhee: I need goals-a-plenty from you, lads Mackie, Miller, Wright, Maguire (in unison): How come? McGhee: Cos that's what we're fuckin paying you for you fuckwits!
  14. Let's face it. It takes a hell of a lot of skill to be able to balloon it from two yards out. Not many can do this with the efficiency and consistency of Darren Mackie
  15. but there's sprint tracks, resistance gym equipment, gymnastics equipment, etc. There's a hell of a lot more in that place that we could use than just a synthetic football pitch.
  16. Au contraire, mon frère. I had a party when Dumbfermline took both boat-boys off our hands. What a highlight that party was!!
  17. And Preece should read up on the reasons for Jim's departure before making comment. He didn't get the boot because of his goalkeeping coaching skills. He got the boot because he doesn't offer anything else to the rest of the team. Bit pointless paying a wage to someone who is coaching Bossu, Langfield and Nelson and nobody else. Ultimately, I think McGhee is right in ditching a goalkeeping coach in favour of someone who can coach goalkeepers and ALSO get involved with the other squad members' training. It's just unfortunate that the person being ditched is the mighty Jim Leighton.
  18. Agreed. Looks like someone's out to grind an axe in the face of McGhee. If Leighton was only good for coaching the goalies and nobody else, that's a lot of money for the club to spend on the development of only two or three players in the squad. As superb a player and a coach as he is (responsible for making decent goalies out of Langfield and Preece) he is a luxury
  19. Because all of our training and coaching is done on grass.

  22. Some photos of the new facility .. Aerial view Athletics hall, complete with 100m sprint lanes FIFA approved full-sized indoor football hall Games hall (big enough to fit nine badminton courts) A curtain to hide Bossu.
  23. Nah you're not making that up min. I'm sure I read that somewhere too. Was a fair few months ago, like. But that's nae the first time I've read about RGU getting some sort of training facility that we were going to have the use of.
  24. Sad to see him go. An absolute Legend. THE best keeper I've ever seen with my own eyes (and the best Dons keeper ever, marginally edging past Snelders and Kjaer). I thought he'd done a good job with his goalie coaching. He succeeded in turning both Langfield and Preece from bungling nervous wrecks into pretty solid, reliable keepers. But then, he did prefer Soutar, Esson and Bossu so clearly all that vasoline from his playing days must have done something to his sense of judgment. Thanks for all the playing and coaching memories Jim. You're a true legend!
