  1. Incorrectomundo Jaeger, the snowba game IS in the RedTV archive. At the bottom of the initial archive list theres a clicky for more archive matches and its in there along with a pile of other stuff. A word of warning tho, theres no commentry, only a dubbed over crowd noise which ruins it a bit. Edited to add - its actually under the 'Video Highlights/Memorable Matches' tab rather than the Video Archive.
  2. The Scotsman says he was at the Alloa game yesterday.
  3. My brother had a meeting with a Hibs fan at the time Miller became our manager. After business was concluded they talked football. The Hibee leaned forwad and commented 'you'se are FUCKED'. Dodds for Winters and 750K... CUNT.
  4. Been out of the country for eight years and occasionally have had the missfortune to encounter these kind of people on my travels. It is highly embarrassing being in a restaurant or bar with an mixed nationality crowd and having one of these types latching on to the fact you are from Scotland and then the 'patter' starts. Just hearing a weegie accent overseas makes me want to puke into a long, thin pointy ended bag, freeze it and then stab the cunt to death with it.
  5. Thank you SS, thats what I thought. So when are AFC going to step up to the plate and hit the cunts in the national press with a big get to fuck about being dragged in to that dirty debate by the huns? I still to this day remember the 1990 SCF when 'Oh No Pope' got started and was boooed down after one line by our crowd and the tics responded with an applause and its never been sung since. Not making out to be a tic appologist but it did happen and it was a great moment.
  6. Huns are cunts obviously, but can one of you who is still there confirm one thing to me - do Aberdeen fans still sing the ID song? Is that song completely dead or does it still get an airing occasionally? And is this mythical 'Stairwell song' truly a myth?

    Andy Murray

I'm watching this on US TV and to be fair they have been quite specific in saying that he is a Scot.
  8. My post wasn't a cri.. FFS! I can't post anything right. This is a good thread.
  9. Cheers Bobby, I think thats the first time I've ever had a positive reply to a post! I thought about Jimbo, but as you say, we almost got relegated that sason so, great as he was (and is) he wasn't a prominent signing under the guise of the topic. Its a pity we're limited to three choices, cos Charlie Nick was important in telling the fans 'we do want to progress' at an important junction. Stavrum, Windass, Dodds etc, you could argue the same but in terms of actual pace changes in direction for the club, I dunno, might as well say Zero was prominent in that context. Like I say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not to mention the beholder's lifetime experience. Maybe King Joey was one of the most prominent. Forgot about him. We almost got relegated in '75, but we won the league cup in ,76 and became great within five years. I stand corrected - Joe harper was one of the fundamental signings that changed Aberdens fortunes. I will punt Jim Bett from my original selection.
  10. I would view this as signing prominent players rather than say, Willie or Alex, who became great at Aberdeen. I would also frame the question within 'living TV history' cos who knows how prominent some signings were that no-one has seen in archive footage. So, in terms of players who defined a change in fortunes I would say, in no particular order: 1. Jess re-signing - I agree, that was a major reason we didn't get relegated in the year of the great escape. Between Jess leaving and now, no player has signed that saved our skins like he did and we haven't reached any level since then in terms of genuine greatness. 2. Peter Weir. Took us to a new level just as we'd reached a new level. 3. Jim Bett. Strachan, McGhee and Rougvie all left and Bett showed up to solidify the team for years to come. Nod of the hat to Billy Stark too, but he signed when Stachan was still here. What a signing Bett was. All subjective to age and opinion of course.
  11. Are we allowed to play 3 loan signings? I thought there was a limit.
  12. My point was that we all live in the real world and footballers shouldn't be saying to the people who are paying their wages 'nah fuck it I'm not looking to progress, playing for Scotland? nah, not in my scope'. I actually think he's quite a good player but it does show a lack of ambition. AFC might not be a magnet for world talent but surely anyone getting a job playing for us should at least harbour some dreams of making it to a better level and want to progress??? That kind of comment from a player does my head in. In context though it was a non story with a bland comment so fuck it, come on the new season. Fingers and toes crossed.
  13. “It was nice of him to say I had a chance but I’m not going to put pressure on myself by setting my sights on getting involved with Scotland next season. ....Which is why Aberdeen continue down the middle of the road. Not setting his sights that high? Why the fuck not? He fucking SHOULD be setting his sights that high. So should the rest of them. Bet Mackie doesn't stay behind practicing free kicks and ball control, but he fucking should be looking to improve at his fucking job 'cos he ain't that good either. Annual job appraisal - Well boss, I'm not really looking to improve at my job, not really looking to progress. If any of us in the real world came out with that the annual Christmas layoffs would catch up with us. For fucks sake.
  14. What do you call a Thalidomide in a wedding dress? A shuttlecock.
  15. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gALuV1KCmI4&NR=1 I liked this one, Crime Count and King Joey. In front of OUR Beach End.
  16. Might as well add myself. I'm Woolenrouge, formerly many names, sawadeekrahp, placid, winston and a few others probably. Got kicked off the old AFC chat in 2002 for insulting TMW's hunlove when he was still a puritan, my only claim to fame. Like ElGordo I'm also in the US in SW Houston, the Sugar is good here.
  17. Have they? Under 5000? Thats bad news. Can anyone confirm?
  18. 1. I always show up for the Christmas game to herald in our annual New Year slump. Firp Ark, 26 Dec 2007, 1 fucking 1 v fekkin Gretna. Good pies though. Previous last one was 0-0 v ITC at Todders when they were ground sharing. We'd been going great guns then turned to shit on that day and sustained it for about six weeks before storming back to miss Europe to Hibs on goal difference on the last day. I believe they got pumped out of Europe by Dnipro. I'm a fucking jinx.
  19. Good point cos in 1986 the money was shite. I would be more interested to know what extra above our norm we did earn this past season. Must be a fair bit. How many more fans through the door compared to previous seasons must be significant, that must be 60K more paying customers - and the tv money from europe and all that. Should have made a bit, semis in both cups and an almost sell out v the monkey boys on Thursday and more live league games than I can remember for a while. I might be speaking shite though. i seem to remember we kept getting drawn away in the cups in recent seasons, but lots at home this season.
  20. Woo hoo. Just in... from work but got to see the game live on the RedTV. Miller's goal was great and wasn't it his nod on for Mackie's too? One question - Was there any evidence of hun infiltration in the Aberdeen sections?
  21. JC has said himself that 4th place is worth about 150K to the club so they should put a 4-5K win bonus on the team to win Thursday and go for it. I'd rather have the ground smashed up by losing huns than winning huns anyhow.
  22. Nothing to play for? We have everything to play for. Our ground is going to be smashed up whatever happens so we might as well have it desroyed by rioting huns who have lost the league.
  23. I had the joy of explaining the term 'Soapy Souter' to a Houston Dynamo season ticket holder today! I say joy, only because I can't spell 'privalidge' obviously.
  24. For anyone who hasn't noticed Redweb now has a fine download available and introduced as - ...Saturday 11 April 1970 Two historic events take place... The launch of Apollo 13... and........ RIP Cup-Tie!
