The short story why I would like to see play more is that I think I he's got a bit of guile about him. Some chat on pie and bovril about Irvine and O'Halloran. It's probably bollocks but 150k for Irvine (which would be about the remainder of his contract) and a similar fee plus goodwillie for O'Halloran after the semis is what's being said.

I see Irvine was supposed to be on the bench again today but had to start due to Martin Wood picking up an injury in the warm up. If Quinn is going to county I would not be surprised to see Irvine sign for us.

Points of note for me were as follows. Brown looks far more relaxed in goals than he did at any punt last season, marshall's influence perhaps. The myth that MacLean is wasted as a cm has surely been dispelled. It's just not working with goodwillie, Smith looked far more dangerous in ten minutes of play. Celtic will not like playing on that pitch

Decent source but he's not infallible. He also tweeted similar about Jamie Ness if memory serves. Boyce would certainly add a new dimension to the attack and would likely be far more effective than DG when played up top with Rooney. First time I saw him was the 4-0 against county at the end of last season. He looked pretty poor that day but he also didnt look very fit. In more recent meetings he's looked better and was a menace when we played them last. The way I see it to varying degree's we need a striker, CM, RB, CB and GK but I really can't see us signing 5 players in the window. 3 tops which is going to leave us short.

I would say it leaves us short, particularly at RB. Boyce would also be quite an interesting proposition though I would be very surprised at county letting him go so easily. I would rather Jackson Irvine.
