  1. Funny, I nearly linked to a Sarah Jarosz song on the other thread. Went to see her live a year or so back in a small venue near Kings Cross. Not my definition of drivel!
  2. Heart - Alone The power ballad to end all power ballads.
  3. Totally agree re Armstrong. The frequency with which he gets the ball in tight spaces and not only retains it, but finds a way to play a progressive pass is something to see. Not to say that he’s been perfect in every match, but he’s a Rolls Royce of a player.
  4. Wasn’t it always the same? I got into music playing my mum’s 45s and 78s from the 50s and 60s. I remember at secondary school we were all swapping Hendrix, Clapton, The Clash, whatever, while also listening to our own era. My kids have mined my vinyl. I think every generation does that. Music is timeless (or the good stuff anyway) and any young kid with a love for it will look beyond the current hits.
  5. Trashcan Sinatras - The neighbours’ place
  6. I think there’s plenty out there if you’re willing to do the digital equivalent of crate digging. My loon keeps turning up some fascinating and eclectic stuff. The quine too. Having worked overtime to give them a love of music it’s been rewarding.
  7. Primal Scream - Don’t fight it, feel it
  8. Nice to see Aouchiche hit the target twice, given he’s seemed to lack composure in front of goal. Seems to be finding his feet. Good half of football.
  9. Donna Summer - Love to love you baby
  10. Bin VAR. it’s a no brainer. Who actually wants it?
  11. The Commodores - Machine Gun
  12. I toughed it out, Lord knows why. Excruciating stuff. A abomination of an event.
  13. The Trashcan Sinatras - Oranges And Apples (Tidy wee song about Syd Barrett for those into their Pink Floyd)
  14. I'd bother. It's a good watch.
  15. The The - Lover is stronger than death
  16. Crazy stuff. Feels like the Hibs game from this time last year all over again.
  17. That’s just nonsense. Complete nonsense.
  18. I have us ahead on XG.
  19. Got away with one there, as Fraser Fyvie says!
  20. Not on the waiting list, so far as I know, as didn't qualify for the terms of the original allocation. As I recall the bar was pretty high and I live down south, so not a season ticket holder.
  21. I'd absolutely be looking for actual tickets! FanZone thing has been organised by Neil Gordon, of the 1903 Express Aberdeen Supporters’ Club. Was a piece in the P&J about it. Contacted him when I spotted it, but it had sold out.
  22. Which is what we were doing well at the start of last season, driven largely by Shady Mo hitting the byline.
  23. I tend to find something new and then listen to it obsessively over a period of time, which drives my wife nuts. Anyway, the last few weeks it's been Tyler Childers, thanks to a road trip on the west coast with my son. We listened to Childers on a day spent on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and I liked it a lot. Generally I'm not a country person, though I do like some of the alt country/bluegrass/americana stuff. I feel like a lot of his output is more in that style, although he fiercely defends it as being country. Anyway, have a listen to this.
  24. Possibly the greatest remix of all time:
  25. This is a dangerous flippin' thread for me. Not going to be able to resist. Expect to be flooded with endless Trashcan Sinatras songs... But first, my undoubted favourite song of 2025, which is ironic given I generally have an aversion to concept albums, is this: Once it gets under your skin, very hard to get it out again. Haunting.
