  1. Of course we need the three points on Saturday, that's a given. What a win would also bring, is the possibility of helping McCann and Dodds out of a job too. Maybe not on Saturday, but they're not exactly getting a new manager bounce. To use a phrase I heard McCann use on Sportscene, when talking about the zombie clubs players. Their players can't cope with the weight of the jersey.
  2. Come to that conclusion a few years ago now. Take each day as it comes and enjoy it as much as you can It's the young I feel sorry for most. What a midden we are leaving behind for them and it's not going to get any better.
  3. I never saw him during the game, but who was the dodgy looking character, in the Main Stand, who Martindale went to sit beside, after his red card. Haven't seen a sheepskin coat and shades at a football match since the 1980s.
  4. Over seven minutes first half injury time, which you don't want on a very cold day. VAR should just be binned, it just sucks the joy from the goal celebrations, which is what all fans are their for. Doesn't help either when you see such poor refereeing on display. Hardie always seems to lose his grip on games early and never recovers. We won 6 (six)- 2 yesterday, but Var, the referee performance and these racist accusations, has fair took a bit of the shine off our result/ performance.
  5. Well I knew we would win, but six goals. Happy days. I went for a pie and come back and the feckers equalised, I hadn't even finished my pie when they had the temerity to go in front, bastards! There was a lot of noise around me in the south stand, an issue when you let folk in on the cheap, but what a way to respond. Bar the period when we let in two, it was everything you want from a team. I could wax lyrical about it, but it only really matters if we do the same next game, although I'd settle for five. I said on Sunday that Mitchell Frame needed to go on Loan, well thank fuck I'm not manager. Hopefully that has raised the confidence going into the business part of the season. We really needed that. Was a cold one though. .
  6. What a team Now in a pub thawing out. Ross Hardie shouldn't be anywhere near top flight refereeing. Yaaaaaassssss!!!
  7. Just not long heard this. Rumours either back to states, Hibs or Hun. Hopefully not the latter.
  8. Game day and actually looking forward to it. I'm not particularly enamoured with our new signings, although I wish them the best. I'm not in the RDS, so it's not the drinking at the fitba. It's the novelty of a 3pm Saturday kick off that I'm looking forward too most. Fitba played when it should be played, for us non DNA, legacy fans Head first into them. COYR
  9. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but apparently, the Japanese club that wanted Yengi, were actually wanting his Brother. The brother has apparently accepted the offer. We could give Livi our Yengi to soften the blow of losing theirs.
  10. Finished 1-1 Thought Arbroath were the slightly better team overall, but probably a fair result. Nae great conditions for fitba though. Morton have a young goalie on loan from Wolves. I bet however his career pans out, he will never forget Arbroath after tonight. Every Scottish footballer should be made to serve a season in the lower leagues up here. Call it a national service.
  11. Sounds like the end for Suman if 18 months. Hopefully some real competition for Mitov now.
  12. I'm also sure Findlay Marshall was sitting close to us at Pittodrie on Sunday, in the South Stand. Thought the loon looked vaguely familiar.
  13. Are Morton a 'Rangers' club? I think I Heard their fans singing a Rangers song.
  14. Arbroath v Morton on the BBC tonight Never great at Arbroath, weather wise but looks vert grim tonight. I'm feeling that wind coming through the telly.
  15. A Norwegian keeper, supposedly on the way to Pittodrie.
  16. Club with a new cooperation agreement with Cove, which has saw the three young lads, who were at Kelty, now at Cove for the second half of the season. Apparently this allows the club to better monitor their progress. Seems a bit strange to change it this late in the season, but as long as the laddies are getting good game time.
  17. The Who - Won't get Fooled Again
  18. Himmin, you Ken fine well nae tae trigger Mason, with talk from that night. Some things are just best forgotten.
  19. Chubby Checker - Lets Twist Again
  20. 44 years ago today, since a young Hilton loon called John Hewitt, scored after 9 seconds, against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup. We wouldn't lose again in the SC, until 17th April 1985. Also on this day in 1988. Charlie Nicholas, scored his first goal for the Dons, in a 2-1 defeat, down at Motherwell. Maybe their revenge from 1982! There is also a press story listed from 1950, with talk about a 70,000 capacity stadium for Aberdeen. https://www.afcheritage.org/history/on-this-day/70000-seat-stadium-for-pittodrie?id=810
  21. Aye, but the change isn't really for the better. We are quite possibly just legacy fans with no place in the modern game. I mean, I don't even do AberDNA and yet here I am, on here complaining about our latest signing. The cheek of it.
  22. We may as well go all out and get Curtis Main back. Works hard, not prolific and ticks a further box by knowing the club. Apologies for not feeling the love on this one. If he scores the winner against Livi tomorrow, I change this post to say I never doubted him.
  23. The truth is, we are closer to St Mirren as a club, than we are any of the big boys. I've said it before, I don't think we are big enough to be trying to emulate the big boys of football. I'd rather we concentrate on being a competitive team and a place where youth gets a chance.
  24. That would have been the alcohol. The boy was knocking back a serious amount of booze. He was pals with a boy I worked with at the time, who would knock back anything put in front of him and I know first hand McKinnon was his equal on that front. Fair play for remembering him though, I had banished him from my memory. We've had some shyte over the years.
  25. Take That - Could it be Magic.
