The quality of games is partly down to teams playing for draws.

It's not as simple as that though. If two thirds of the league are in a relegation battle then crowds might be less than for matches in a larger league with the prospect of more open games. Less chance of teams parking the bus at Pittodrie in a larger league IMHO. At the end of the day, there are too many unknowns.
