Read the odds in the papers this morning for the first managerial change in the SPL this season.
Gus McPherson favourite @ 7/2 ahead of the new " permanent" Hearts manager
Our own JC rank outsider @ 25/1 apparently.

Currently 1-0 down

Half time
Aberdeen are playing Arab Contractors this evening in their first group match of the inaugural Al Ettehad Football tournament. RedWeb will try and bring you score updates from the match, but much depends on the communications from Egypt. A match report on the game will appear later. The match kicked off at 19:30 UK time. The starting line up for tonight is:
Soutar, Hart, McNamara, Mair, Nicholson, Severin, J. Smith, Foster, Clark, Lovell, Mackie.
Subs: Kelly, Miller, Diamond, de Visscher, Maguire.

0-0 H/T.

It was reported yesterday in the EE, which means that most of today's papers will have picked it up from that blivet.
Okey dokey mate. didn't know it was in the EE last night.

Nae matter what you think about Dick as footballer, he certainly hasn't had his problems to seek on the fitness front over the past couple of years.

Nae defending the fat postie, but in fairness to him he is just regurgitating the piss reported in most of todays rags

Quote Willie Miller
"The proceeds of the sale will be reinvested in the football department, from youth development right up to first-team level.
"We have a number of existing players whose contracts are up next summer and contract discussions will be beginning soon. We also have European football to look forward to and we will look at helping Jimmy Calderwood with his squad as he prepares for that."
Where is this quote taken from............ just curious becvause if it was possible to be taken out of context to put a positive spin upon it, I'm sure AFC would be doing so

Hey, what about Jussi Jaaskelainen? He's just rejected a new contract at Bolton Wanderers. Surely he'd be better than ANY of the keepers we have now!
I can think of £6m reasons why this won't happen.
Apparently this is the Bolton are looking for.

Agree with what Bobby said above.
This would be extremely disappointing if indeed true, and certainly takes the edge of the good end to last season.
If the club are desperate to sell Cadger, then for fuck sake surely they should be trying ot sitr up a bidding war, instead of just taking the first offer that actually comes their way.

Those old-timers amongst us will remember another signing from Dutchland - pretty sure he was playing amateur when signed. A scouser by the name of Paul Mason. If we have stumbled onto someone with Masons ability and heart then I don't care what status Flik is.
Pretty sure we signed Mason from Gronigen [ sp ? ] and paid £200k for him.
Then again maybe the heat down here is playing havoc wie the grey cells.
Christ what I'd give for a Paul Mason in mid field these days though.

Lads it is a long off season. Trust me Langfield will be in the cage in July. Appologies will be made and lines will be toed...
Having had time to reflect on all that has been said in the papers, I've got a sneaking suspicion that you may well be right.
Would certainly of made for an interesting evening on Sat if JC had been invited and attended
See I bet JC was invited, but I'm thinking he maybe just stayed in Majorca.
Incidentally I saw in the P&J announcements that Dazza was married last Saturday (2nd). He obviously had a much quieter and well behaved stag night!
Typical woman, reading the hatchs, matchs and dispatchs

shame if he's not being punted. he is rubbish, after all.
for a brief moment there, i thought we were in real danger of having a successful season next year without this clown in goals.
Ach hud on a minute there Bobby..... dinnae sit on the fence min.
Say what you mean loon

Smells like shite to me... Jimmy's done nothing but praise the guy for years, so he would have to have done something seriously bad to merit this.
It seems telling that the Daily Record is the only news source reporting this as well.
Aye was wondering this myself loon.
Is it reported on Northsound this morning ?

Doesn't look too good for Langfield.
Seems to have fecked aff Calderwood big time...... if of course you believe what is printed in the Record
DONS AXE BAD BOY LANGFIELD
By Ian Orr
JAMIE LANGFIELD has been slapped on the transfer list by Aberdeen after a series of off-field incidents.
The 26-year-old keeper, who was in Scotland's squad in the Faroes, has had the offer of a new contract withdrawn and been warned there is no future for him at Pittodrie.
Just last month the Dons rejected a £70,000 bid from Rangers for Langfield, who manager Jimmy Calderwood rated the best in the country after Hearts' Craig Gordon.
But the keeper's world turned on its head during his stag party this month in Majorca where Calderwood and assistant Jimmy Nicholl have holiday homes.
It is understood Langfield was seen drunk and abusive in Magaluf and his conduct was witnessed by his manager.
After two earlier breaches of discipline, Calderwood decided his behaviour was unacceptable and instructed director of football Willie Miller to sell him.
Langfield has apologised but this has not altered Aberdeen's decision. He will be held up to his team-mates as an example of what will befall them if they step out of line.
Langfield's fall from grace leaves mentor Calderwood searching for another keeper.
If he doesn't find a club, Langfield will see out the remaining year on his contract in the reserves with Derek Soutar certain to be first choice.
Calderwood, who signed Langfield on a free from Dunfermline, didn't comment.

Also no way you can leave out our most consistant player all season Michael Hart!
'Tis a fair point also.

Can't for the life of me see that we've signed Jackie Mac without planning on him being a automatic starter.

He's Dutch, he's small, he's got skills galore...Jeffrey, Jeffrey
I soooooooooo hope we're not all going to be disappointed here

Thankfully what seem like QUALUTY signings are in early - no scrambling about days before the start of the season after the usual empty promises. Hope this guy lives up to the hype .First post this , so hi y`all.
Welcome to the board Andy
and welcome to the good ship AFC Jeffrey

Well what a fecking day that was
Know that as someone that was there in the eighties I shouldn't really get overly excited just about finishing third and Eurpoean qualification but cannae help it guys.
What a fantastic that was, and everyone in red was a hero yesterday, including the support who were magnificent.
Was the result really in any doubt once Seve's thunderbolt hit the rigging..... course it wasn't.
Haven't managed to see a re run of it yet, but might even have to watch Scotsport to savour it again. Not even going to let the bitter and twisted Andy Wanker put a dampner on things.
Delighted we stayed to savour the after match events, which allowed the Huns to get a head start down the A90, which just added to the enjoyment by winding the fuckers up with Dons flags out the windows of the car, and hitting the horn prior to going past them.
Anyway, all summer to survey the map of Europe and decide where we fancy going.

Has rejected last contract offer at Killie. Seen him a few times against ourselves and also ]been dragged by my mate to watch a couple of killie games and have been impressed. Worth a shout?
Agree he is a decent player and rated down Rugby Park way.
Do you stay in Killie Innesciver ?

Strange that JC didn't want this signing to be announced till after the weekend's game, then they've just gone and done it.
Certain that Hart is on his way now, unfortunelty. seemingly a radio station announced it today, £450k to Celtic.
I'd take £450k for Hart right now
and another £450k once he gets his first international cap prior to the end of this calender year
I guess we're stuck with clanger for another year

See Gretna are desperately seeking a new keeper.
