Aberdeen boss Craig Brown hoping for reunion with Blackburn striker Nick Blackman in fresh loan deal
Jan 5 2011 By David McCarthy
CRAIG BROWN will learn today if he has succeeded in luring striker Nick Blackman from his former club Motherwell to Aberdeen.
Blackburn's on-loan striker was a smash hit under Brown at Fir Park but that deal expired at the New Year and is unlikely to be reactivated.
The 21-year-old scored 10 goals in 15 games for Motherwell but has failed to hit the net in the four matches since Brown left for Pittodrie.
Brown has launched a bid to take Blackman to Aberdeen for the rest of the season and new Blackburn boss Steve Kean has sanctioned the move but left the final decision to the player.
Blackman is now weighing up a reunion with Brown but may decide to take the option of going on loan to an English Championship side.
Meanwhile, Serbian defender Nikola Vujadinovic's Dons loan spell at Aberdeen is set to be extended after Brown told chief executive Duncan Fraser he wanted the 24-year Udinese player to stay until the end of the season.
Fraser is now negotiating with the Serie A club.
Brown also hopes to add trialist Tony Capaldi before this weekend's Scottish Cup clash with East Fife.
The Northern Ireland international was due to train with the Dons squad for the first time yesterday but won't play in tonight's closed-doors friendly against Peterhead at Balmoor.
