  1. Quality piece of journalism, highlighting the facts but also acknowledging the emotional ties. Didn't actually pick up upon the source until the end, but somehow ~i knew it wasn't from one of our tabloids
  2. AFC 3 QoTS 1 Fallon 12 mins
  3. DARREN MACKIE says he rejected a move to Dundee because he wants to end the season a Scottish Cup winner with Aberdeen. Dens Park manager Barry Smith has made two bids for the striker. Mackie's contract is up in the summer and he knows his 13-year Dons career is coming to an end — but he insists he has unfinished business to take care of before he leaves Pittodrie. That means rounding off his testimonial year in style with a Hampden Park date and open top bus ride down Union Street with the Scottish Cup. Mackie admitted: "I was flattered to get the offer from Dundee. "My contract is coming to an end but if I don't get a new one here then I want the chance to end my time here by winning a trophy. "It's so long since we won a cup, to do that as an Aberdeen player would mean everything to me. "I have been a supporter all my life and I know how much it means to all the fans to win a trophy again after all these years. "As long as I've been at Aberdeen I have wanted to bring silverware to the club and the chance is still there to do that. I was in the stands watching the last time we were in a final but I was just breaking through to the first team so I wasn't involved. "That's why it would be the perfect way to round off my testimonial year with the club with an appearance at Hampden and hopefully lift the Cup. "I have wanted to play more but I am as positive and determined as ever that I can force my way back into the side to finish the season on a high." The closest Mackie came to a final was four years ago when Aberdeen lost 4-3 to Queen of the South in the semis — now Queens stand between Dons and a last eight place tomorrow. He added: "That defeat was one of the biggest blows of my entire career as it was a massive chance to get to a final. "Jimmy Calderwood was manager, we let him down, we let ourselves down and we let everyone associated with the club down. "It wasn't the best of days as I was disappointed not to start as I had got our winner at Celtic Park in the previous round. "I did get on as a sub but it was one of those days where everything that could go wrong for us did go wrong and it was a huge blow. "What that proves is that anything can happen, it is a warning to make sure our levels don't slip." 4. +1 Excellent post, you obviously have a more eloquent way of putting things in writing than I do
  5. Exactly my point
  6. Have you read Barca - A People's Passion by Jimmy Burns ? If not strongly recommend it
  7. Is it really that laughable though Dave You surely can't deny that Salmond just loves the sound of his own voice. I honestly believe the 2014 is nothing but a scheme to work and work and work on the good people of Scotland until they reach a point where they think, right might as well if only to shut the fat cunt up
  8. Stevie Wonder - Early Years
  9. Probably could hazard a better guess from a position of current knowledge than taking a stab in the dark, and to be honest I don't trust the fat bag o' wind and his pig ugly side kick. Regarding your second point, I'm actually saying neither..... I firmly believe if fat boy thought he could win it tomorrow he would be at the polls. He knows he has no fucking chance and the longer he can drag this out he patently believes the better chance he has to bore folk into voting yes just to get the fucker to shut his mouth.
  10. Can anyone tell me what rate income tax I'd pay in an independent Scotland No, thought as much, then why the fuck should I behave like a turkey voting for Xmas There is just SO much unknown just now, making it impossible to fully weigh up the implications of full independence We're going to have a full two and half years of this
  11. Not so sure our board would accept £4 if offered
  12. No I mean to return for a second time. He was here, he left, he returned, he left, therefore if he returned again it would be his second time of returning
  13. Broom cupboard being tidied up as I type
  14. It rarely works out returning to a club, but to return for a second isn't a good idea. His best days are behind him, but good luck somewhere else Michael
  15. Also the cash we received for Grimmer
  16. Think the deal was signed and sealed this afternoon, hence the picture in daylight, but the Nigerian FA were holding up the registration and presumably we wouldn't confirm deal as being done until suchtime as this was concluded
  17. 3-1 us
  18. Oh dear David
  19. Jelly Belly away........ Sandaza - No Holt - No Some boy from Falkirk (not El Algui) No Looks like it is Healy, Laughing Boy and Aluko for the rest of the season Lets make sure we're in the top six and do these cunts
  20. According to reports elsewhere he played the full ninety minutes of a bounce game against ICT earlier today and looked impressive. Also apparently The Dazzler staked a claim for a new contract with a goal. That'll be it for another six months or so though
