  1. I believe that there is issues with the quality of the playing surface, rugby plays on longer grass for one example whilst the increase in general use of the pitch will rip the arse out of it, and I reckon AFC will probably find that any revenue gained will be used in replacing the turf twice a year. Part of me says BLOODY HELL NO BLOODY WAY IS THE HALLOWED TURF OF PITTODRIE BEING DESECRATED WITH EGG CHASING, while the other part of me says, aye screw em fur every penny!!!!
  2. Not complaining He He! I just feel folk wouldnt be so hysterical if the club communicated with us better instead of letting the Evening depress and the like feed off and encouraging the madness.
  3. I see on the AFC site that talks are continuing with Atletico to try and secure more tickets. Who out there thinks that this is likely to happen? (Not that im expecting to get one, being only a mere supporter). Also, how do people percieve the handling of the whole ticket allocation debacle. For expample, would the oldfirm be happy with an allocation of 3000 in a staium that hold almost 55 000? Surely, AFC could have contacted the supporters clubs asking them for thier ticket demand BEFORE entering into discussions? I realise that this would mean aually COMMUNICATING with us. I dont want this to sound like sour grapes cos i dinna hae een,Im honestly interested. Oh and by the by, I reckon the suits at AFC can count thier luck stars that we arent as millitant as the Panathanaikos fans or all hell would be let loose!!
  4. Aluko looked imresive. quick, loads of skill, always looking to take defenders on, scored a quality goal. Maybe a bit light weight, but with being young, he will develop strength as well. I also thought Byrne played well, making some pacy runs. Can I say though that kenny clark was a bloody disgrace. He gave us nothing the whole game, still beating the arabs comfortably, they ended up getting frustrated, resulting in the shocking challenge in the second half and the hand ball by the dim witted wilkie (who ended up playng centre forward)!!! if clark had nipped things in the bud EARLIER in the game, things may have not gone as far as having two players being sent off. In short the man has no respect from any of the players he officiates over, and they take the piss. But I thought it was an excellent performance from our "fringe" players. Bing on the Russians!!!!!
  5. Does that mean we will only be beaten by the 3 clear goals then??!! ;D
  6. Aberdeen players have been TOO honest in the past. I DONT condone diving, but, I do believe that Aberdeen players havent made the most of some challenges that some (more experienced)? players may have won free kicks/pens from.
  7. Managed to get penny flights to Girona, ill scoot down on the train overnight, spending (part of) the night in backpackers, that apparently do breakfaxt for 18 euros. Nae bother!! Just have to tell the wife when she gets hame!!!
  8. just be grateful that the bbc recognise our existence at all. Their coverage of Scottish football is nonexistent. Which at least means they arent derisory towards us, I suppose. :wanker:Jesus, what a group tho. The one team i was dreading was Galatasary at home.
  9. Is that the sfa's finest linesmen ur talkin aboot CD? ;D
  10. Me was there, we played in first gear, took about half an hour to get into the game. Although St mirren had a lot of posession, never looked like scoring, solid defensively, mopping up high balls all day long. Officials were appalling. saints fans, feeling understandibly agrieved. A good scoreline, more importantly a clean sheet, Langfield looking in command and confident in his six yard box, points on the board. Not one to really judge the performance of the team on, so soon after such a big game. Whos next??!!!
  11. Aye, the draw is the morn. (the 9th) Me off so will be keeping a close eye!!
  12. Miller, did infact play well. His second was well controlled, and hopefully he can start to show why we signed him. Did feel a wee bit sorry for saints tho, cos they actually played better than the 4 0 scoreline showed, but thats NOT a complaint!!!!
  13. The last thing a quality player like Anderson needs is to become a journey man, flitting from one club to another. A move to championship club on loan will, to me be a step backwards, because as a defender, the backline need to understand and know how each other play in order to effective as a unit meaning loan spells for a player like this wont work, attacking midfielders and forwards are slightly different in this respect, as it is the unnoticed, bread and butter work in defence that is done so well and often goes unoticed that makes Anderson such a good player
  14. Milne needs to think very carefully. If Caldo goes with cap in hand to Milne after this only for no money to be given to boost the squad then Caldo could turn round and say that he has taken the team as far as he is able to, and i wouldnt blame him, Also it doesnt show any loyalty towards tjhe manager or the fans if he gives nowt. He IS a scrooge, we all know that, but somehow, despite the penny pinching, our club ends up in ever larger amount of debt. That smacks of mismanagement to me.
  15. Been on night shift this week, but managed to see the first half, and Mackies goal. Bloody hell, Ive given that boy stick, I taket it all back now, wonderfull 50th goal. A brillant display BY THE TEAM. Thought Caldo got everything spot on. The last twenty minutes were agonising listening to it on the radio, sweaty palms all round!!!! Canna wait to see who we draw next, Pittoders is gonna be a decidedly happier place this weekend!
  16. A bit of a shocking statement, I dont think it bodes well if your manager doesnt know what position half your team play in, what on earth was he doing in Holland then? But then again, our league position at the moment does suggest that he, in actual fact does not have a clue!!!!
  17. Best to ignore the poor excuse for journalism that is the red tops. Dont rise to it, its just what they want. Come the end of the season, we shall see who are the mug ones. In fact, thats the type of thing that Caldo should be using to fire up his players!
  18. Maybe this is a chance for the guys on the periphery of the team to put an effort in, to fight to be noticed and a regular place. Agree that Glangers should start, despite losing 3 to the hun, he has more presence in 6 yard box than Souter and none of those goals were his fault . The important thing is we start to score.
  19. Nae sure, but surely if Dundee Utd can pull a friendly of this size off, then as a "bigger" club, we can as well? Thier ovrall profile was lifted by the papers as a result.
  20. Dont rate him Nil composure in front of goal. A blind monkey would end up knocking in about the same given the amount of chances Mackie has had in the team. I agree with Reekie, give Lovell a decent run in the team and see what happens to those figures
  21. That will only be true Reekie if the Pittodrie marketing machine gets thier finger out and actuall lets folk know this event will be happening!!
  22. Aye BigAl, if its the same old Dandies versus huns pre match build up by the red tops. Blatant and pathetic attempt to undermine the confidence of the management team and the fans in one lazy "scoop". We are apparently tryng to hound Caldo out of Todders and big brave daddy smith is there ro give him his backing as he knows all about how to be "loyal". Same old pish, different season, but surprisingly not a word (yet) about our constant jubilant singing about the grey skull disaster or the simmie song. I think our confidence will be high tomorow. Seeing as Im not going we will win. Caldo nwill keep the team as close to thursday as he can
  23. Agree with Vanderark14, he needa a couple of games to settle into the team. Dont think Caldo did any wrong in not playing him against Dnipro. A chance to shine and prove a point against supposedly inferior opposition should get him at least in contention for a regular place.
  24. Question is where does he go, The infirm wont touch him, Scots players are out of favour with the jambos, Hibees? The right side of town for him, but cant see them paying his wage demand. He kens where hes better off and thats picking up an over the score wage with us, surely
  25. It is of the utmost importance that the dressing room get a good laugh before the game, asI think by half time there wont be much to laugh about. therefore jester Young is a must. To be fair, the random nature of the team is quite exiting sorta like the National lottery but with no prizes at the end. For example, we may get Seve starting up front. by himself with Langfield supporting him him in midfield!
