  1. Do you have to tie it down in strong winds? We are trying to buy just now and a warning on probs like that would be good!!
  2. Dear god, not jeffries, his brand of fitba is appalling. i do think its too early to be thinking about giving the tango man his jotters. It is obvious that the players he has brought in in the January transfer window (peep hole in our case, so small were the possibilities out there) are there as stop gaps. I reckon Caldo will do a bit of wheeling and dealing in the close season and (hopefully) shift out some dead wood. In other words a rebuilding job, based around Diamond as a key player.
  3. No hiding behind mini skirts or whatever...
  4. I've heard these ideas being mentioned before. On loan would be the way forward as its win win for us. He plays. we get his influence in our defence, whilst screwing an EPL team for his wages.
  5. Careful your notmisunderstood., you wouldnt want him drying his balls and growing a pair of eyes.
  6. can we not just give him an office in Todders, somewhere out of the way, let him keep his comfy seat in the stand and give him some small paper based insignificant tasks like sorting out parking spaces around the ground for something to do then??!!
  7. Yes fair point, was just using him as an example of a player that showed "potential" from the youth system, was chucked into the deep end by a string of shit managers, thus not allowing him to develop all that promising potential into proper skill.
  8. I fear for these boys who need to develop. Jimmy's history of developing players is poor due to his desire for players to play in a multitude of positions and buying in olderplayers who are not quite on top of thier game . There is a danger of them become tainted nearly men (Like Mackie) who will only progress so far.
  9. Willie Miller for Wiggy's position?? Reading an article in Scotland on Sunday today (Cant find the article on line) that puts Bayern Munich's continuing success down to so many ex players making up the areas where big decisions are made, ie Ruminigge and Breitner. Surely a combo of people who actually give a toss is whats needed to progress the club???
  10. Me wasting rope? Not likely. Too stingy to be wasteful.
  11. Oh goody!!! More injury concerns before next week.
  12. No a simple removing from the corridors of power will suffice. Wouldnt waste the rope.
  13. And to send out a message (to the likes of nicholson et al.) that reliabilty and loyalty to the club will be rewarded and respected.
  14. A bit harsh. Im hardly advocating stringing the man up from the nearest tree!!
  15. My thoughts exactly. But a sure fire way of making a player start looking for another club. Especially after signing his new contract. Im a firm believer that a captain should be in defence anyway. (Not as a make do player, but a proper one).
  16. Jesus, a good performance AND a result? Some folk just want the earth!!! ;D
  17. Fair enough he;s not actually working on these things himself on a daily basis, but if these things are not been done properly, then its his ultimate responsibilty to sort it out?
  18. But, if he's been a player who has been messed around and not been able to lead the team in the way that he wants, surely his confidence is gonna get a knock?
  19. Ok, fair enough, very few people expect him to "do a david murray" and chuck personal millions at a manager, but what about other areas of leadership such as bringing in decent sponors, the marketing of the club and the dealing of contracts. IMO I reckon he has failed in at least 2/3 of these?
  20. I thought his way of dealing with the gaping hole in the middle of defence once Anderson left was to make Severin captain and force him to play out of position in defence.
  21. I have said it before and been ripped apart for it. I believe this his only interest. Otherwise a real fan would put at least a little bit of cash into the club. I did hear rumours about Paul Lawrie being a possibility, but that was a few years ago.
  22. Double edged sword that tho min! Everybody around KNOWS thats what we will end up doing, think Right, lets have em and motivate themselves even more. Te only thing that is mising Swaddon is for said player, instead of giving a groveling apology for not performing is to say "the players would like to say to the fans fuk you and go and fuk youselves if you think we can be BOTHERED to play any better. "
  23. I am beginning to notice a worrying trend in that even player who we could rely on last season to play well in amongst others who were playing gash are not performing (Severin, foster, nicholson for example). Is it that claderwood just cant motivate these players anymore and they have just given up? I agree that we need to stick with the same backline, but to try and get them to gel, by the arse end of Febuary??? Thats a nightmare, of which Calderwood MUST take some responsibilty for? (After all ha has blamed everybody but himself)
  24. I take it cynicism is an accepted coping mechanism for the belegeured dons fan???
  25. There sems to be a fair mix of opinion on Milnes leadership and management of Aberdeen's affairs. i thought it would be interesting after, not just a poor result today, but after what seems a poor spell in the transfer market and a run of questionable results. This is not a knee jerk "Milne must go" rant, just an exercise in general opinion.
