  1. Oh that linesman was a joke and his opposite number wasnt much better.

From my vantage point yon killie boy was barging his way into the box with severin barging back. The killie boys gets a shot in which goes wide. The ref was looking right at it from about 15yards way and waved for a goal kick.

Then suddenly he changes his mind and goes to the linesman who had already missed several fouls that happened right infront of him and the ball going out for throw ins 50% of the time and had a worse view of the decision than him. Suddenly its a penalty?? :hammer:

  2. Fucking hell where do y ustart with this goalkeeper.

he reminds me of Richard Kiel in the bond films. Big and lumbering but you do wonder how the hell he every gets hold of anything.

The first goal I stood with utter amazement (much like he did) as I watched the Killie striker bearing down on him, closer, closer, closer and finally just slots it in. Bossu did get a touch though which ill give him credit for but he just stood and watched. If im fair i am a shit goalie (ask Inter ma lamb or anyone I went to school with) but I do have my moments and I just dont understand why it didnt occur to him to close down the killie player and smother the ball. When it went in he didnt even look pissed off.

The second goal he made the decision to come for the cross then changed his mind. the ball takes a couple of deflections but ends up just inside the 6yard box and almost out for a corner. Does he come out and blast it away? does he come out and smother the ball? After all hes just stood there and has a head start? NO  he stands there and with our defence posted missing the killie player comes in and blasts it under him. Again he just didnt look bothered.

The penalty? well im bemused why that was given so ill let him off with that

The 4th? As with the 1st he didnt come out to narrow the angle and worse he didnt deck the dons defender (diamond?) who let the ball once again bounce over his head and straight to the killie striker.

  3. Only times ive been in modern packed terracing was at Telford Uniteds ground for a local derby with Shrewbury Town

There was a strict capacity regulation and there were actually spaces marked on the terracing that coincided with your ticket.

Luckily I got there early as the stand only had a capacity of 1150. Soon as it sold out they closed the turnstiles with a few hundred people locked out (at the time they were rebuilding and only the two end terraces were complete (hows that for a bizarre way to construct a new stadium?)

As the report said Hillsborough happened when Leppings lane became overcrowded and if what ive heard is true was this not down to them deciding to open up one of the exit gates whcih let people without tickets pile in?

Only time ive seen a stand over its capacity was the shed at tannadice a few seasons back when United in their wisdom didnt keep count and just kept taking the money. People ended up sitting on the stairs whilst there were lots of empty seats in the Main/ Jerry kerr.

My only rule for standing is that all short arse whiny bastards must get there early and go down the front of the stand. Fed up of people at concerts asking if i could maybe crouch down so they can see despite me being stood in the same spot for about 1hr before the gig started.

Perhaps bring in those min. height signs you get at fairgrounds

  4. The cunt that wrote the BBC match report, I think. Tom_Widdows got some match report that mentioned a "dope on a rope" more or less saying we had smashed and grabbed the three points.

That was the BBC 'SPL as it happens' text coverage. Cant find it on the BBC website now

said we had used the classic 'dope a rope'

I will go out on a limb and say yesterday was the first premier match I can recall seeing in which I didnt think the opposition would score.

there were some 'hearts in mouths' moments after the goal when it appeared motherwell were one on one but out of nowhere one of our defenders woudl appear and stick the boot in.

Can anyone recall the 4th official sticking up the injury time board? He seemed to be dossing around with it for ages only to then use it for a well substitute. Back to the old days of playing 'guess how long the ref will allow for us to be shafted''

  5. lets put this another way

tomorrow its announced that a bunch of parents have gone to government and demanded a 5% cut in their taxes so that they will actuallty take responsibility for the way their kids behave. Otherwise they will simply take no responsibility for their kids assaulting members of the public, stealing cars, vandalism etc etc and it will be up to the police and the government to deal with them.

The whole country would be up in arms!

No one would say 'ah theres no point doing anything as they have us over a barrel'

Rangers and celtic fans have continuously vandalised away sections and the clubs receive no compensation for this (Rugby park when celtic won the title there 2 seasons back springs to mind). However if we actually give them 'protection' money they might actually do something about it (Ill believe that when i see it). These are clubs who in some cases dont even provide seats for away fans?

And yet people are saying 'ah what can we do?'

  6. Not saying everyone has to do it but I shall be

I get the impression everytime the club comes out with suggestions like giving the entire south stand to the old firm that they value the old firm fans more than the home fans.

I will quite happily attend all other games against the 9 'real' spl clubs for I dont object to them recieving a percentage of my cash since they are in the same boat as us.

Until the fans start reacting then it will continue. I already object to rangers and celtic fans smashing up away sections thoughout the SPL and then having the gall to charge £27 for a seat that doesnt exist behind a pillar at their own stadiums.

This whole 'if wont bother them if we boycott the away games as they get their fans in no matter what' attitude isnt the point. 1,000,000 marching on London in protest against the Iraq war didnt stop it but it didnt half put the message out there that the UK Government didnt have the backing of the entire country.

A few matches down the line with no away fans will get the press wheels going and show that the fans actually have the bottle to say 'fuck you'

In fact I implore all fans to hold on to their cash and use it pack out pittodrie and away sections of tannadice, tynecastle, Douglas Park etc for non old firm games.

We all know that in the current financial climate only the old firm will win the SPL so boycott matches against them.

I know this will never happen but frankly i think it would be the best thing that ever happened to scottish football.

the fans of the real 10 all turning their backs on the old firm  and just supporting each other.

Away fans are essential to a games atmosphere. Sooner or later the old firm fans would start to complain that no one wants to play with them.

  7. if its what is online hes just having a go at fergie for daring to say the 1983 gothenburg team was the second best scottish team of all time.

WAS Sir Alex Ferguson having a laugh when he named his 1983 Cup Winners’ Cup heroes as the second best Scottish side of all time behind the Lisbon Lions?

Sir Furious, below, is known to like a glass of good red and he surely had a few before he came out with that line.

At least he had the savvy not to compare his Gothenburg team with Jock Stein’s lot, but his dismissal of other Scottish club sides smacked of little more than arrogance.

Winston Churchill told us history would be kind to him because he intended to write it himself. Fergie is attempting to re-write it.

The great teams don’t just win, they win with a flourish and when it came to entertainment that Dons team couldn’t hold a candle to some of their Scottish predecessors. The only players who would get you up off your seat in that team were Gordon Strachan, Peter Weir and Mark McGhee, if he was in the mood

A young Eric Black had a lot going for him but the other three were the ones who made things happen. For the most part the rest of that side was all about organisation, fitness and aggression.

Neil Simpson, Tattie Cooper and Dougie Rougvie would be banged up in Barlinnie if they were playing nowadays.

Fergie rates his boys ahead of the Rangers team who won the same tournament under Willie Waddell 11 years previously. On what evidence?

Waddell’s team could entertain as much as they could mix it. With Sandy Jardine and Dave Smith at the back, Alfie Conn and Alex MacDonald in midfield and Willie Johnston and Tommy McLean wide, they were much easier on the eye.

They also beat a much stronger Bayern Munich outfit on their way to Barcelona than the one Aberdeen faced in 1983.

If the European Cup is the real acid test, Fergie’s lot came up well short in their three attempts. iverpool saw them off on a 5-0 aggregate in the second round in 1980 while Dynamo Berlin dumped them in the first round four years later.

A quarter-final defeat to Gothenburg the following season was as good as it got for the Reds in Europe’s top competition.

Two decades earlier Dundee had given a much better account of themselves in the European Cup. They beat Cologne, Sporting Lisbon and Anderlecht on their way to semi-final defeat against champions-elect AC Milan.

From the same city Jim McLean produced a gem of a team that reached the final of the UEFA Cup and, in their one crack at the European Cup, they got to within 90 minutes of the final before losing out to Roma.

At that time Celtic preferred a trip to Pittodrie than a visit to Tannadice. There are others I’d put in front of Fergie’s boys. The best Scottish team I ever played against was Eddie Turnbull’s Hibs of the early Seventies. The team of Brownlie, Stanton, Blackley, Harper, Cropley and Edwards played the type of football that’s become Arsenal’s hallmark today.

Their solitary League Cup win of 1973 was scant reward for a team who were unlucky enough to be competing against Celtic in their pomp. As for Fergie’s assessment that his 1983 group are the second best of all time? That doesn’t stack up and if you doubt it take a look at the league table for that year.

They weren’t even second best in Scotland!

  8. So why do it?  ???

I see it as if me and a few thousand more fans of all clubs start boycotting games then the clubs might actually start to see how much money they make from us and actually start taking our opinions seriously

At the moment they dont care because TV money is the most important cash cow for them which is why we ended up with monday night football and in the past, 605pm sunday kick offs.

But TV money without the fan revenue suddeny isnt as much.

Im only one person but frankly I can use the £100-150 a year i spend going to matches against the old firm on better things.

  9. Well I was bored so i sent one

I dont know about anyone else but I am going to boycott all home and away matches with the old firm from now on.

I know financially this will probably hurt the club and on the field it might even hurt the team (Ill let the GUASC decide that) but If I do it then maybe a few more will and so on.

Personally I think that this press release yer talking about should not just include Aberdeen fans.

Id personally would like a link up with fans of the other 9 clubs and see if a mass boycott can be organised.

  10. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Seriously, Aberdeen can do no right in the eyes of some fans.  If they HAD called the game off, you would've been straight on moaning about "all the fans that have paid good money and travelled over to see them play, yet they call off the game without a thought for them."

fuck those who decided to have a jolly to holland.

The fans invest a great deal of money in the club to produce results on the pitch WHEN IT MATTERS ie league, cup, europe etc. Playing the dutch equivalent of 'banks of dee' with players who are borderline injured is asking for trouble.

I seriously doubt that there are any fans who having missed out the zwolle and arnhem games  decided to jump on easy jet yesterday of this morning so they could watch us play a dutch amateur side.

Play your devils advocat game somewhere else

  11. surely if there was any sanity in the club it would be a case of

Dear dutch amateur team. We have unfortunately suffered a large amount of injuries and as such cannot field a team for tonights friendly. We apologise for your inconvienience etc etc

    BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

we have to try and get the rest of the first team squad on the treatment table

What possible sanctions could we be slapped with if we didnt bother turning up?

  12. Im defining one on one as a situation in which you are clear and have the option of going round the keeper, chipping him, stiking it under him etc.

Having thought about it the last time I remember a dons player doing this was May 2006 when John stewart scored against celtic on the last day of the season.

In every other 'one on one' situation ive seen since then our striker has always hit it straight at the keepers legs  :hammer:

  13.

Mackie should have done better when released through the middle, but was crowded out forcing him to slip in Maguire, who shot high and wide of the target.

Mackie was the man getting in the best positions for the Dons, but when he was presented with a one-on-one with Paul Jarvie, his tame effort was saved by the feet of the goalkeeper.

Mackie's attempt at a bicycle kick went in completely the wrong direction.

    Oh surprise fucking surprise

    :hammer:

When was the last time you can recall an aberdeen player scoring from a one on one with the keeper?

  14. Page doesnt open im afraid!

Will definately sign though, as it seems like a genuine case of where common sense needs to prevail.   He has shown himself to be a model citizen here in the UK, has built a firm home for himself and if he signs for us will certainly fill a skills gap.

im sure if he was set to sign for an english club, it wouldnt be a problem.

    Not so sure about that

Last December Al Bangura, 19 year old watford player had his appeal against deportation rejected. Took serious backing from the FIFPro, David Blunkett, the local MP, Elton John and a protest from 18000 Watford and Plymouth Argyle fans before the home office decided he could stay till he got a work permit which he was eventually awarded in mid january.
