I'd always remembered it as Robbie Winters who scored
Just checked, you're right Winters scored. Fck knows where I got Craig from.
I was fortunate enough to witness the congo round the United team bus with a sulking followed by an outraged Jim McLean.

Yeah, and after previous publications (including Stand Free) i told the club it was 2-1 and was actually ridiculed for saying so. But there you go...
Aye some donkey scored for United. Craig I think. What a weekend that was. The build up to the game was charged and the atmosphere in town the night before the game was pretty mad with Aberdeen songs being sung all over the place. I somehow doubt the build up to the Falkirk game will get even close to matching that...too much water under the bridge since those days.

No sign that he is fearing his job from his reading his Twitter page.

In 3 seasons in the SPL he's finished top 6 once. He claimed he had the best team outside the SPL and then went on to finish 7th, he's now taken a team that finished 4th and taken them to a relegation fight. He's not a good manager and he shouldn't be at Aberdeen. If he stays then I hope to god he turns it around but as it is I still rate him as highly as I did when he was at Motherwell, which is not very highly at all.
If you can tell me what you see in this guy that makes you think he's got it in him to change this then I might be swayed but at the moment I don't imagine anyone can put up an argument in his favour. If he has plans to change things next season why wasn't anyone signed on pre-contracts in January? He's done nothing to address the problems in the team. All he's done so far is compound them.
Agreed.

Just think of it as this: the split works in our favour because all teams in the relegation scrap have to face each other. So even if one of Falkirk, Killie or Smurn goes on a 'run' of results, by definition (because of the split) they will do so by taking points off other teams who are already below us! Basically if we beat Falkirk on Saturday we are already virtually safe and only require one point thereafter to make it mathematically so.
This of course is what the split is intended to achieve - having all the teams in the same situation (title, Europe, relegation) playing against each other.
But would you take Willie?
-
I heard a rumour, and it's purely that obviously, that Willie McStay is lurking in the background ready to take over and steady the ship. I heard this about a week ago. I'm 99 percent certain it's absolute bollocks though.
Would you take Willie?

I concur. Saw them at Sziget in Budapest, very good.

If he puts in a shift like he did against Rangers more often then he would be worth a deal.

Watched the second half of the United-Scouse game today. Not the best contest to watch, but United got the job done and played some good football at times. Liverpool looked lost Fletcher, Park, Nani and Rooney all played out of their skin. I was in Manc this morning and was gutted I couldn't stay for the game. There was a real buzz about the place.
It was pretty mad here as well. You would have thought you were in Manchester. Man U and Liverpool shirts everywhere and 3 big screens up in a square. Seemed like a great atmosphere but was too hungover to stay out to enjoy it. What a racket I heard from my apartment when the goals went in.

Buddy Guy, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club and Gypsy Kings this Friday.

Suits me, I'll be able to watch it doon here.

Same first 11 I chose.

I actually feel bad for their fans. They have probably the best fans in the uk and its not their fault that the club has been run by arabic vultures.
Better than Burnley?

Shearer and Gillhaus

Paton, Paton, Paton. Sounds like a certain Orbital tune.

Tzvetenov probably wasn't that bad compared to some of the left backs that have played since. We've never replaced Robertson though...
-
Tzvetenov only ever played left back. He was marginally better than Colin Woodthorpe (remember him?)
Kiriakov was a combative (hah!) central midfielder signed from Anorthosis Famagusta who occasionaly filled in at right back. Kiriakov occasionally played well but unfortunately Aberdeen casino was more of a love than playing football.
Both Bulgarian internationalists until the bright lights of Aberdeen got to them...

Fuck sake Jimmy.
