Personally I am mystified that he has had so many clean sheets this season and while everyone may have forgivin him for his antics of two summers ago I have not. I admit that he occasionaly pulls off some good saves and as a shot stopper is one of the better in the spl (not in the top 3 or 4 though). His decision making and his distribution are amongst the worst in the league however and his performances under pressure with the notable exception of Dnipro away have been very poor. Dundee Utd in the semis was about as bad as a keeper can play....

I'm not saying smith is as good as or better than jess, just that he is the best player since jess. Smith seems like a good guy, very proffessional and always shows respect for the fans and the club. Show him some loyalty. I will never understand why so many people rate langfield, for me he is the biggest liability ever seen, and he is a cunt.

Looks like I am in the minority but I would give him a new contract. He is the only player at the club that when fit can actually win matches on his own. His injuries are frustrating, but if we can happily pay wages for some of the pricks at the club like Langfield whose attitude stinks then I think the cash should be found, I'm sure it wouldn't cost that much. The performance against Copo was the best performance of any dons player since Jess at hampden against der hun in 95 and in this game alone he gave us more joy and made the club more money than most of the rest of the squad have done in the last 5 years put together. Sign him up.

Crazy idea, but what I have come to expect from those gimps. AFC-Cringe is a joke and is getting worse, the fly poster banter is so fucking gay. I'm all for a change of manager, but the end of the season is the earliest it could possibly happen (even though it almost certainly wont).

With the 4th highest budget in the league it stands to reason that we should be in the top 6 every season, personally I don't think that this should be considered as achieving something. Clearly the european run last season exceeded expectations, but only because aberdeen as a club have under-achieved for so long...again I'm not convinced that we should'nt expect this sort of run on a fairly regular basis. We have improved considerably since he took over, there can be no arguement about that but as for taking the club as far as is possible....this is a ridiculous statement as we have won nothing. I think, by his comments that he wants to go and I cant say I really blame him, but if he really wants to leave with a feeling of achievment he has to at least win the cup. The 3 year contract he recently signed now looks like good business as we would have to get compensation that would allow us to head hunt the next boss with less restriction. I hope he stays though, as we are starting to look like we could at least pull away from the non OF teams.

Agreed, he is not the best player but by no means the worst, if severin, smith and the rest showed as much effort and desire as mack-attack then we would be playing in europe this season
