  1. Thats the one from Grand Designs, probably the nicest I've seen on that program. We'll probably build one house for ourselves but not until a few years time. I'd want to manage it myself, best way I can think of to stop the missus going spend crazy so I'd need a year off.
  2. What you looking to build? Are you going traditional or doing the whole grand designs thing? There was a cracker of a house built a few weeks ago on it. The guy did wood bending and clad the whole house in wood he bent himself. Amazing to look at, doubt that would last long with a sea view though!
  3. Not to my taste at all, neither is the rug but I'm sure you'd feel the same about my mininmalist style, moder living room with clean lines, white walls and high gloss white furnature. It does look very tactile though so I get the stroking and you dont get much in quality furnature for that sort of money these days.
  4. No one on this thread Buc. Just someone getting a bit too personal in my opinion for a message board and taking it too far.
  5. Any guess by a news agency or site about how much he was given to go is just that, a guess. My guess is this - he's been paid his full contract in installements with provisos in place for when he gets another club. If the contract he takes is worth less than his the Rangers one then the rangers make up the difference for the duration of his the rangers contract. He'll get his £2m over 2 years, how much the rangers pay of that would depend on who he plays for next and how much they pay him. The first lump sum will be enough to cover from now until the end of the year. Thats based on the rangers contractual obligations to him and how it has worked for other players that have left clubs before their contract is up.
  6. For an emergency loan a club that isnt in the top league has to make a request to the associaion to be allowed to loan a player for a short term gap thats been created through injury. From the SFA site
  7. Aye, there's banter and then there's being an arsehole.
  8. As she comes with a manual I'd have no problems finding the right buttons to push. Obviously I'd fumble about a bit before finally skimming the manual but once she's set things would definitely begin to heat up. For that reason I'm in.
  9. You call it a space, I call it a target. Get that on pornhub for a few thousand... I'd also use it as a way in with the sister. She's got a nice wee body, I'm failing to see any down sides to entering her.
  10. Of course. Would also give you the added bonus of being able to say to Boris, you've fucked the country but I fucked your sister and hard.
  11. Probably, I see the establishment as all those involved. Trump has been dealing in Washington all his business life, you cant build all those sky scrapers without knowing your way around the political system and working in it. I see Farage as part of the establishment because of his Conservative background and being the founder of a political party. That might be down to that little bit of punk in me that sees anarchy as being anti establishment and not suits and money.
  12. All I see with Brexit and Trump is right wing leanings, that isnt anti establishment in my view. We've been here before in our history, it didnt end well that time. Brexit was backed by the right wing press, press that are owned and controlled by billionaires that have their own agendas, agendas that have nothing to do with freedom for the people and everything to do with insuring their financial legacy for their super rich families. Thats anything but anti establishment. Farage is so anti EU rocket he took their money for years and claimed hundreds of thousands in expenses. He could've fought to change it from the inside, he could've highlighted its ills and given solutions, instead he's broken us away from it and fucked off to America to take another highly paid job with Trump leaving us to pick up the pieces of his mess. Anti establishment is the people standing up and taking control, its not handing control to xenophobes that are funded by the 1% or are part of the 1%. The Americans did have that choice, there were several independents that they could vote for and if the people really wanted to shake things up they could've put their weight behind one of those. A real statement of disgust towards the political system would be to push one of those forward. If Americans wanted their country back and they followed the example of their founding father (something they love to claim is important to them) then they would go with an independent. George Washington was an independent, he stood against party politics. The Americans seem to have forgotten that and a lot of the people in the UK think going right wing is some sort of protest. I think its deluded at best, extremely dangerous at worst.
  13. I agree with your establishment point but what puzzles me is how in the UK people saw voting for a banker and a career politician (Farage and BoJo) as an anti establishment vote. I also dont see how Americans can view voting for a paper billionaire that has been in the public eye for 3 decades as anti establishment either. They are all part of the 'establishment'. To me anti establishment would be someone from the street, an every man/woman rising to the top and not career politicians that are usually on the losing side or milti-millionaires/billionaires with axes to grind.
  14. One US commentator said around 70% of presidential candidates pre-election pledges are usually put in place. Trump has the power to do it because the Republicans hold all the power now. It might have been an anti establishment vote but it was also a xenophobic and hate fulled vote. If a European politician, especially one that was in charge of a party or running for a presidency, had 12+ accusations of sexual assault hanging over them there's no way they'd still be in the running, never mind get the vote. If his presidency goes even half the way of his persona the US will go backwards when it comes to human rights, female equality, racial equality and workers rights. I cant see how this will be good for Scotland, all the party leaders have spoken against him, some actively campaigning against him. I also dont see how this is bad for the Conservatives in Westminster, some being inches away from being UKIP lunatics which looks to be the preferred stance doon sooth. As you say though, sit back and enjoy the show. If he's a monumental fuck up he'll be gone in 4 years. If he is it'll also have a massive effect on our economy which could then see the fall of the Conservatives which aint bad unless that means the further rise of UKIP. One massive positive, the yanks will now be the ones having to deal with Farage. He's no longer our problem.
  15. We've had the recession. We've now got the hate filled bigots taking over. Wonder what's next...
  16. I know that house well, its on my street. There's reasons he wants £500 a month less than comparable houses in the area. What any of this pedantic shite has to do with my points though is beyond me. Beginning to think I joined afc-chat.
  17. There may be a downturn at the moment but that wont last forever. Even if it doesnt return to the craziness of before where 30 square metres cost £100k to buy that doesnt mean there isnt a housing shortage in the city and surrounding areas, ask one of the 22000 on the housing lists for Aberdeen and the shire. Ask those paying £1800-2000 a month in rent for a 3 bed house because they cant get on the housing ladder due to the over inflated prices some were willing to pay and the shortage keeping those prices up. Thats 3 times the amount someone in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, almost everywhere else in the country pays. Because it has planning permission at worst one of the big 4 will pick it up and sit on it until its worth building because demand is back or its worth 30% more than what they paid for it or both. The main issue last time was the deferred date the new owner would be able to get the land and the uncertainty due to the new stadium not being passed.
  18. Here's what I know... The stadium and facilities will cost approx £50m to build. Pittodrie with planning permission is valued at £20m (and even in todays climate that is more than achievable due to the housing shortage. Its flats and houses thats planned, they'll still sell) £30m to find. From that there will be naming rights - £1m contingency +£5m £34m to secure Worst comes to worst they are looking at a mortgage. As we're running in profit for the moment (thats why they've been pushing to run in profit and not just break even) £500K a year isnt enough to fund a £30m mortgage. About 30-40% of the £30m will have to be found (imo) to make the build happen. The rest can be borrowed. I'd guess there's a £10-13m hole in the finances which sounds a lot but its not a huge amount to find privately when looking at a £50m project with a community theme attached to it. How they get it for free is probably where the challenges will come. When the oil was bouncing I'm sure some inside Pittodrie would've been thinking they could call on their service company owner friends to privately invest in long term advertising, corporate deals, boxes, stand sponsorship etc but thats wont be as easy to get today as it would've been 3 years ago. We may end up with the Wood Stadium instead of the Shell Training Camp and the Nexon Academy.
  19. Part of it is down to injuries. Jack out pushes Shinnie into midfield meaning Considine has to cover LB. Considine was a central defender long before he was being pushed out to the left back role. He's OK at LB, a lot better than he used to be but he's always been a central defender playing left back rather than the other way around. Maddison not starting against Rangers was baffling. Its the rangers 2016 not Gazza and co we were facing. We are good enough to beat them on our own patch without inviting them onto us. They may get most of the play when playing livi but that doesnt mean we should allow them the same at our patch.
  20. Reading some of the posts from last night, was someone on the sauce? Bit aggro to say the least. Lewis Logan, O'Connor, Consi, Shinnie McGinn, Jack, Maddison, McLean, Hayes Rooney Is how I think we'll line up.
  21. Planet Earth II last night. The whole reason ultra HD TV's were made, in my humble opinion.
  22. I fucked her in back stage in the Forum a few years ago.
