  1. Good first half although we faded a little after the Motherwell goal. Hate var despite us benefitting, just ruins games, and another long delay. Amazing, when we pass the ball we’re not a bad side. Need the same start to the second where we clearly want it more.

Aye, I'd probably stick with the same lineup and hope that Barron of the Killie game turns up. It's essential that the triangle of three in that midfield perform together. The biggest problem we've got, which isn't unusual when in a rut and late in the season, is that we've got absolutely nothing on the bench to change it up when we're struggling. Duk is a lost cause until summer anyway, and Sokler hasn't really shown anything beyond one good game against the Hun. We've got no exciting young winger, or a big lad to change tactics.

What you said at the end I mentioned yesterday too. We don’t have a plan B, big unit up top, like a cosgrove, even Curtis main to mix it up, make defenders nervous and back off etc. Long ball doesn’t really suit us unless it’s into space as we lose the physical battle. I thought gueye was going to be that guy, turns out he may just be the Uber driver for that guy.

  3. I’ll also add this technical director has to be a football guy, ideally ex player ex manager ex technical somewhere else etc, some sort of combo there. Our leadership reaks of inexperience based on what we’ve seen on team matters in the last 4 years. From the inexperience of our managers, poor recruitment and signings, inexcusable squad construction, unacceptable transfer windows (the last being the worst when we knew we’d problems), all the way to Dave and him never from what I underserved having any sort of management role in soccer, we need experience at the top.

Maybe zidane as technical director, deschamps as manager?

  4. Pretty shell shocked with how things have gone this season. For the most part we’ve been shit all year and have been an awful team to watch, long ball piss all season more or less. Now we’ve totally fallen apart and I fear this terribly structured squad and team are totally inadequate.

i really want to like Dave, and do. As a Scot in America as well I feel I somewhat relate to Dave. He wants his beloved dons to succeed, has the funds and connections to finance our club, and has the yank influence of what sport/entertainment ownership should look like.

couldn’t understand why glass was hired, but he tried to implement a possession style of football. Thought we were becoming the Scottish arsenal but Robson certainly totally killed that. The warnock fiasco is exactly that, what the fuck. I was willing to give the old head a chance, we were in somewhat ‘safe’ hands with his experience, but wholly fuck what a farce. He was clearly clueless of the team, players, club, and pretty much the league. His month did major damage, potentially the first couple of nails in our coffin. I fear these players don’t have the stones for this.

All of this leads back to Dave. Surely he has to hire a technical director before a head coach/manager? That makes sense to me. I supported this review and accept the results, but if structural change is the solution, the major players have to be installed first, have the whole structure implemented, then finally hire the manager so that the structure is fully aligned. I just don’t trust we’ll do that. Dave just doesn’t fill me with confidence that we’ll get it right. I hope we do!

  5. Not optimistic at all. I look at Wednesdays team and the bench, there isn’t a single change I’d make that I think makes us better apart from maybe clarkson for Barron, but it’s really just like for like. We only have two going on three battlers in our team, shinnie and devlin, and maybe Phillips, although as much as I appreciate Phillips effort, haven’t seen much else.

saying all of this, if the team that beat killie shows up we’re totally capable of a win.

    2-0 to Motherwell.

  6. Shocking to watch. But even more shocking is the squad depth and squad construction. What options do we have? We really cannot change formation/style unless we play mcgarry wide left and morris wide right. We don’t even have a big lump we can stick long balls up to.
zero heart in the 70 mins I saw which is a huge concern.

  7. That’s the worst performance I’ve seen from us. Zero passing, heart, or desire, although I gave up so didn’t see the last 20 mins. Fuck knows what leven can do but based on that he didn’t inspire the group to perform, even try!

  8. Switching off. We have been horrible. No passion or urgency and back to the long ball shit to nobody. Same only shit same old result. Amazing how far we’ve fallen, cannot argue with our league position.

  9. We’d be underdog against any of the three semifinalists, nothing to lose. If anything Celtic are underachieving this season and not performing to their fullest. We’re also due a result against them in a cup. 2-1 us with scales og the difference between the teams. Cup semi win and the full Bayern coaching staff coming in, things are looking up. Morris start this weekend?

No rumours here. No idea who it is.

Steve Tosh claiming on Twitter it's someone British who was "a decent player" and "has managed at a decent level".

Few others said they believe it's a foreign boss who is currently in a job.

I might turn up for work on time tomorrow to harass some people who hopefully know more than me.

British, hm, decent player who managed at a decent level. Doesn’t mean decent manager though. Stevie G? Lampard? Steve Bruce? Billy Davies? Obviously Lennon, Strachan, McLeish. Just trying to think of people I’d not want!

Foreign boss currently in a job. Obviously Klopp and part of his Liverpool exit plan.

going to be a really interesting hire given the time and process since Robson left.

  11. Good after match interview with warnock, 100% agree a new man needs to be in asap to assess the squad and build for next year with input on who we keep, get rid of, and sign. Can’t remember who posted the opposite how we’ll be late and it fucks up next year, agreed that would be a disaster. What he says is correct, let’s hope it happens asap.

He's a dick that can't hack being a manager. He usually starts okay in fairness, but he then descends into blaming everything that moves. A fucking mess of a man. Clueless from the club if it's the plan.

I’d argue any manager splits the support. If whoever comes in has a good strong start all is good. Comes down to results. Much like Robson, didn’t want him but good start so accepted him. Shit start and the manager is too young, too old, doesn’t know our league, past it, lacks experience, etc etc. McGhee was an ex player and legend and look what happened to him, Roy Aiken took over, mcinnes was a hun we heard. Does it matter, if he wins games and cups he gets accepted.

been zero info from the club since Robson left, really curious if it’s a new manager, new structure, or what?

  13. OOft! Surprised that he’s gone but obviously sounds like we are close to moving forward. Better be more than just a new manager coming in or this leads to more what the fuck questions.

id argue it was probably more work and pressure than warnock expected.

  14. Good effort from the team, hard working battling performance. Saying that, from what I saw, we played through midfield a lot more and possession was better. Certainly less hopeful/hopeless long ball.

4 at the back. Let’s stick with it and build upon this formation. Macdonald solid at the back , won everything in the air, and while Mackenzie is prone to the odd mistake, rash tackle etc, he played well bombing down the left. Linked well with hoilett who was creative and had a good game. Not convinced by gartenmann and I think devlin is lacking confidence, doesn’t totally look like the excellent signing from the autumn.

people here have criticized Phillips for his lack of ability but the boy works his bollocks off. A Rama type who definitely helps our midfield. Shinnie was Shinnie, played well and a lovely goal.

McGrath is a good player, played well and needs to be given the #10 roaming free role. Played on the right but he’s more of a central player but since we don’t have a right mid it is what it is at present. At present the 5 in midfield, McGrath and hoilett outside and shinnie Barron and Phillips is our best midfield.

bojan worked his balls off but didn’t get much, but does a shift.

good performance but it’s ‘only’ the cup. We need league wins.

  15. No clue what to expect, formation, personnel, performance etc. but say we win 3-2, miovski 2 and clarkson.

On another more important note, given the minimal interest and comments these days, noticed today that shinnie and Charlie mulgrew are members of Snow Patrol. I never knew that.

More and more chat that Warnock might walk before the end of the season. It'll be fine though, because the club I'm sure have been working hard behind the scenes to draw up a shortlist for a permanent manager.

I do wonder if we lose to Kilmarnock and Warnock's dream of winning a cup goes, if he might just consider he's too old, away from his wife, doesn't need the pressure, and just floats back down the road.

We'll never know though because we're going to beat Killie.

More and more chat from who??? Validity or simply hope??

  17. Yup, captain Ferguson with a nice volley for the winner. Italy couldn’t have gone any better for him. 20-30 million the talk with most rumors saying juventus want him to replace pogba. What’s our sell on, 20%?

Cormack will have inserted a runaway clause into his contract, giving him three years EPL salary.

He didn't do a huge amount wrong today, given our current mess. He was unlucky. However, the overall collapse since he arrived leads to this sort of pish. It's similar to that Goodwin game where we collapsed.

We will be in the playoffs if Warnock stays. He needs to go.

Funny is certainly the wrong word, but it’s funny that I thought something similar too. The collapse we have seen in the last month is very like goodwin’s last month. We’ve gone from being in a decent place to complete shit. I know we weren’t 3rd or 4th, but we had games in hand, were in a cup final, and had a decent last game in Europe. The difference is that we weren’t shit prior to goodwin’s last month, but we’ve been arguably poor all year, plus have a very poorly designed squad, plus were an absolute disaster in the January window.

i still feel we are doing the right thing, a review of all things football, but we have to move forward soon. We’ve got a babysitter and nobody benefits right now. Team in limbo and results matter.

A clear and obvious error shouldn’t really take 3 minutes of slow motion replays to determine.

If we’re picking dubious scapegoats, Roos is 6’5” and let in a penalty at least half a foot inside the post when going the right way.

That’s the thing, it’s not a clear and obvious error. Haven’t seen it enough but in real time I thought devlin was fouled, then the replay they hit each other 50-50 and no foul. Stunned there was no monitor check.

over the full game though we were pretty shit again, horrible tactics, and only one team deserved to win.

  20. Got what we deserved, panic kick ball from the first minute. Wonder strike gave us the lead but over the game can’t deny st mirren didn’t deserve the win.

didnt think it was a foul never mind a penalty, red tv didn’t show it again so can’t really reflect, stunned they didn’t go to the monitor.

  21. St mirren by far the better team but we’re hanging on for the most part. Shocking that this is what we have become. We are not a long ball team, don’t have a Curtis main or Sam cosgrove type up top to battle, and every long ball for the most part is lost and st mirren attack again. We won’t win continuing to play like this, it’s wave upon wave and only a matter of time. Few dodgy calls too that I’m waiting for var to give them a penalty, wouldn’t be surprised to see st mirren get a penalty in the second half. Hate this var era where it’s heart in mouth waiting and staring at the ref while there’s a delay.
