interesting lad!

Hard to say for sure without actually seeing him play a few games but probably the early 90's 2bh. That was the last time we could afford to sign genuinely technical players.
Hard to tell but perhaps since Maddison and Christie? We’ve been crying out for a 10 since them, thought McGrath may be the answer but we stuck him out left for various reasons. Interesting type of signing, a bit like palaversa, a young hot prospect who lost his way. Unlike the one year deal that can be extended that we gave to palaversa, a loan with option to buy isn’t that different. Hope he’s a winner!!

Welcome! And thank you for your assessment, I've just spent the last ten minutes trying to find that kind of detail from a Mackem and then you just drop it here. FWIW I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Sunderland, one of the best bosses I ever had was a diehard Sunderland fan so I'm always pleased for him when you do well.
The club statement has him down as a no 10 so i doubt he will ever be out wide unless it's an emergency. I can guarantee we will have plenty of runners for him though and my excitement at this signing is growing almost exponentially just that you say that. In Morris, Keskinen and Milanovic we have three of the quickest wingers in the league and with the kind of service you're implying they will have a field day. It’s worries me when people get this enthusiastic. I was excited when I saw highlights of Ambrose! At the same time, I’m liking the attributes and info on our signings, including a tank of a forward. We seem to have signed decent flare and pace, and players who have a positive reputation. This guy is intriguing, and an option to buy is a good thing. Still think we are missing our best 9, maybe he’s the missing link?

Interesting that we sign three aussies, then we sign this guy who played with Portsmouth so has played with yengi. And we are linked with another Frenchman. Seems a common theme to help players settle that they have some sort of link??

Here's where we currently are. I haven't included Vinnie as he'll be moving on, and if we're targeting Soumano then we're definitely after another left winger.
Haven't included Ambrose either, but who knows what our plans are for him.
An attacking midfielder would be great.
Will be interesting to see which youth players make the European squad and which ones go out on loan.
Striker - I can't see us buying another "project". So I think it'll either be Nesbit*, a loan signing, or we'll spend the money on someone who has been banging them in elsewhere. All three of those options are not July signings - usually you have to wait until late August.
If by the end of August we have Nesbit, Soumano and Pedri in the door, then it's time to begin thinking of a good catchphrase for our next cup winning t-shirt.*As much as I'd love Nesbit back as I thought he was an intelligent footballer, I don't see it unless Millwall drastically drop the price or Cormack just pays the money to match what Hearts & Hibs are paying Shankland & Boyle respectively.
I don’t expect to see shinnie and sivert playing together a lot. Think Clarkson and palaversa did well enough last year that between those two, polvara and the new guy, plus a potential new #10, the two oldies may be rotated.

Pray for @OrlandoDon.
Mikey Johnston is off to Flamenco in Brazil for £5m allegedly
So, that’s quite a move! Although maybe it’s one of those signings where they immediately send him out on loan, to us.

Still nothing suggesting £10m for Ambrose to replace lukaku at Napoli?

Transfer market site suggests Kjartansson is defensive midfielder who has also played at right back. Likes a yellow card by look of stats.
Guessing Findlay Marshall will be another of young players looking to move on soon.
According to his interview he was a forward and a winger until a coach moved him into the no 6 holding mid role.

Like the sound of the lad. However, we do need to be looking at someone who can run up and down all day, and it's very unlikely to be an 18 year old.
Why not? We have two old guys, Clarkson, palaversa, and polvara. Youth in midfield was desperately needed, especially since Milne is a defender.

Just watched his RTV interview, poor lad looked really uncomfortable but, as was mentioned at the end, it was his first ever on screen interview and in a language that is not his own. He does look very serious for an 18 yo though, he basically says he's a no 6 that likes to drive forward with the ball. Speaking of which this does make me wonder if Polvara will be playing behind the striker next season (assuming he doesn't leave). We already had Shinnie, Palaversa, Clarkson and Nilsen vying for those roles and he's always been a bit of an awkward fit in the def mid role.
Doesn’t help that our interviewer (mal??) is awful. We need a proper reporter/interviewer as we develop and improve our online/social media presence. He’s very amateur. Reminds me of the commentators before we had Rob McLean. His questions are very poor and he doesn’t help the guy at all.

apologies for the source, certainly sounds a first team player.

I thought they were waiting for the huge stand free tattoo to dry on his forehead before announcing shankland at cormack park?
-
I know I’m in the vast minority but I’d take shankland in a heartbeat, the fact he’s a dick doesn’t concern me, much like brown was a dick. Bonus that he’s homegrown/scottish. As much as shankland and Anderson are an upgrade on sokler and Ambrose, plus shankland is better than nisbet, would still be underwhelming despite the pick up of Scot’s.

Got the home top today, I really like it!!!

Not surprised. I didn't think Emslie looked anywhere near to getting in our first team. Neither Bavidge or Marshall. Lobban stood out, but in a position we're well covered in. Boyd will likely go on loan this season too.
It's difficult to see a good development pathway for our youngsters, and it doesn't seem like the club has figured it out yet. That's not a criticism either, we're in that middle ground as a club, where there's huge pressure to finish third, and we're not good enough as a team to carry young players. Any player who might be good enough to get straight in at a young age (17-19), will have probably moved down south already. Players that need the bit of extra development either go on loan or spend a year on our bench. That gap between u19s and first team is big, and so is the gap between the lower leagues and the SPFL. We basically need to hope that all our youngsters grew up in the area and are massive dandies, like Milne and Barron, in order for us to get them to sign deals and do the time required to develop.
Maybe once the automatic euro league pish goes away, we'll have less pressure and we can begin to try something. It needs to be done in visible quotas, with the fans brought onside if we're to do it properly (just like everyone was primed in advance of Thelin's "project"). Targets of X minutes of youth player involvement per season, with players ineligible for inclusion in that total beyond their first full season. That'd force the hand of the manager, and also temper the recruitment in certain areas where we thought a youngster showed promise (for example, if we'd felt that Lobban was going to be good, we might not have signed Jensen, or whatever).
Too long to read your whole post but I think I may agree with you. There is a missing link as many need a step up but not good enough for regular first team minutes. Dare I suggest reserve league again?? Even add a cup competition for u23 / a player who has played less than x first team games? We need something for these guys as I do believe this contributes to a loss of Scottish/local players.

If the offer is good enough any of our players would be sold. Rama lasted one season, that’s the nature of the trading model.
if we get a £20 offer tomorrow Ambrose would be heading to the airport.

Probably don't disagree with you about Emslie but he is still an Aberdeen player and plays on the wing.
Regarding Duncan, what do you think as an alternative position, kit man
I don’t think Duncan had the explosive pace to play winger. I actually wondered if he’s a leftie, could he be left back? Ultimately I don’t think either are good enough or ready for extended minutes, hence the potential signing.

This.
We have three, topi, Morris who it hit/miss and a guy to come off the bench, and an Aussie who can also play centrally and up top, but we’ve no clue if he’s a stud or another mcgarry. I’d say we need one more.
Vinny is leaving. Gueye isn’t a wide player.
Am I missing anyone?? -
Ordered. We’ve had better and worse, it’s fine. Part of my ‘season ticket,’ red tv being the other!

So Bologna's reported valuation is £25M, and he's contracted til 2028. I wouldn't be surprised if Napoli bidded £30M for him. If that we're true and successful, we could be be up for £4.5M. Tasty!
Can we not just do £40m, £6m is a much cleaner number to receive? Easier on the accountant.

No chance of Nisbet joining the diets.
Absolutely hates them
Click bait journalism from the Retard IMHO
Not a single word regarding interest in Nisbet attributed to anyone at Tynecastle
Assume it’s just an agent trying to get interest, but I’d be pretty meh if it happened anyway. He was pretty decent with us but also pretty shit for many games. Think we can unearth better. If it was bojan to the Huns or tims I’d be crushed, this one doesn’t phase me.

With European football and squad depth/rotation an obvious factor, that makes dorrington okkels Mackenzie dabbagh McGrath doohan and mcgarry gone so far. 7 out and 4 in.
Jensen ruby vinnie Duncan and I’ll add ambrose are questionable. Sokler??? What we thinking, at least 4-5 more in?
would love to see a legit center mid. I doubt we’ll see shinnie and sivert together in center mid, we really could do with a Ferguson type, or a legit number 10.Agree re miovski, think we’d see borat at pittodrie before bojan again. A 9 and center mid for me have to be certain starters.
-
We definitely need another winger. The new left back can play left mid, but I’m assuming he’s left back, milanovic is a winger and a 10 for what I understand, but I haven’t seen enough to know if he’s a legit winger. topi is inconsistent and young (but I like him!), and Morris is in his last year of a contract, plus I wouldn’t be surprised if we got offers for Morris this summer. Factor in the demands of Europe too. I also don’t think vinnie is good enough or athletic enough for what JT needs and I expect him to be punted this summer.
I think we’re also seeing signings that are flexible and can play multiple positions, wouldn’t be surprised if we signed another left back/left winger. -

I doubt he will be back, if at at all, until he's early 30's but it's nice to know he considers us a future option. Not surprised though, the moment he started crying on the pitch when saying goodbye I turned to my pal and said he would be back someday.
No miovski, damnit. sad but I think that’s true. Plan B Joe Harper?

Another one here, as I said before, a bit palaversa-ish, highly regarded youth who has lost his way.
