Just reading Leven’s Wikipedia page there, didn’t realise how successful he’d been as an assistant manager in Belarus and Russia working under the manager who’s now in charge at Dinamo Moscow. Hope there’s a place for him in the future coaching team structure.

Why? We have won two in a row but today was a shit watch. I know winning is all that matters right now but we were very lucky to get three points, could easily have lost, what the fuck have we been doing the last two weeks to produce that??

saying this, who knows what Robson, warnock, or leven could have done with a balanced squad??

quite happy to see the back of gartenmann unless he’s a cheap signing. I think he’s very poor in the air and a bang average player. We really need a dominating ball winning central defender and that’s not gartenmann or Jensen, weak middle partnership.

  2. We’re awful in the air in central defense, look timid and unsure, having 3 midgets in center mid doesn’t help them either. We’ve been a little better since their goal, but not close to the Motherwell performance.

  3. I like that there’s no fucking around with squad rotation, cooper for porteous and dykes for shankland . Fair swap, jambos will be crying but dykes has done pretty well for Scotland.

Have they what? Pissed about? Absolutely.

As far as I'm aware, we're appointing a manager before a technical director.

Not all of it is speculation and the media may have more of a clue than you think. Maybe not about who will be manager, but why certain others won't be.

Do you think Jimmy Thelin is still in the running?

That would be autocorrect, ‘they can speculate…’

no clue if he’s still in the running. We’re all frustrated with the season and for the most part the last 3 years, and we’re impatiently wanting a resolution to the situation, but unless you are directly involved then it is pretty much speculation. I don’t know the inner workings of signing a manager or director of coaching, don’t know who we have spoken to, the process etc. I’ll judge when we appoint, harshly if it’s lambert, John Hughes, Billy Davies etc.

we’re all armchair fans who think we know more than we do. I think many of us are extremely naive when it comes to coaching, managing, and running a footballing business. It’s a very unique situation. it takes even more time given how our last couple of months have gone, we had an audit and that’s a process hence we haven’t hired someone. I dont think the length of time is a shit show (although in hindsight warnock was.) I’m also sure most potential targets are wanting to know if we are relegated or qualifying for Europe for example. Due to the public nature we all have an opinion but that’s just that, but it’s a slow process.

But that's not what has happened. The club aren't simply "taking their time".

They had five months last season to pinpoint targets. They've put an interim in place this year and made little move to get their new man while Warnock was setting the place on fire. They have began interviews two weeks after their interim fucked off because he was dismayed at what was going on behind the scenes.

It appears a shit show from the outside but do we really know? We can speculate but are we lining up a manager? Technical Director? Both at the same time? One or both under contract? Had to wait until they were out of a cup, Europe, safe from relegation etc…. All takes time.

again, it looks like a shit show but we can only speculate. Much like the media appear to have no fucking clue and haven’t identified who we have narrowed it down to. They can’t speculate jimmy thelin has ruled himself out but if they knew that then surely they’d tell us who was still in the running?

  6. Easy to say but if Christie and shankland score it’s a very different game. Thought we played very well in parts, as much as it’s a 4-0 gubbing, positives to take.

  7. A little unfortunate to be one down, not a bad first half at all. Were the better team for the first 30, holland improved since then but Christie should have scored.

  8. Mcinnes gave us some stability but he ultimately won one trophy when there was no rangers and we were in decline in his later years. Many think he underachieved with the squads he had and the turmoil of other clubs. We were also pretty brutal to watch in the end.
said this before, we’re in limbo and some tend to only think of mcinnes and the positives, but there was a reason we moved on from him. we should keep it that way. I’d certainly be disappointed if we brought him back.

Funny, I thought he looked super shakey to start with, especially coming off his line. Amazing what time and a solid defense can do!

This! Well written by a smart guy. With a solid defense he’s a good keeper! But as we have repeatedly seen he’s piss with high balls and coming out for crosses, and we have a shaky defense who aren’t good in the air. Showed he’s a good shot stopper against Motherwell but I still think we need an upgrade this summer. Big Joe was very good with crosses and that makes a massive difference.

Don’t worry there’s not many different names circulating here either. Only new name recently circulating is Ronny Deila who has just been sacked by Brugge. Can’t see it being him either.

God no, that just ruined my night. Although you could have said Deila with Lennon as assistant.

  11. Danny Armstrong from killie worth considering? Given we have close to no width worth a look? Better than vinnie? Baccus not playing much for st mirren since his return from the Asian cup, tough to say he’s good enough for us if he’s not a st mirren regular despite being a regular for Australia…and speaking of Australians, would mind seeing Jackson Irvine back in Scotland with us. Just turned 31, maybe get a couple of decent years from him??

would really like to see us target good Scottish talent, anyone out there worth considering?

Motherwell were shafted by VAR yesterday, we’d be furious if that was us.

Very pleasing to see Roos have a good game though.

This is exactly why VAR needs to get to fuck. Someone gets shafted by VAR every week. For once it wasn’t us but that means it will probably be us next week.

If the dons win 3 and other results go their way they can still sneak into the top 6

Yeah, I considered that. Tough ask, hibs for example need two points from st johnstone and Motherwell, assuming they lose at ibrox, plus have a +11 goal difference on us. We’ve won once since jan2 and have to win out. Given up caring this season, as long as we stay up.

  14. Next 3 games, county at home, bottom club livi away, Dundee at home.
county have us away, at killie, then home to rangers.

if we show up that’s 9 points, and potentially zero for county. We’d be 12 points ahead with 5 games to play, one of which against county. We’ve play twice at dingwall already so good change that’s a home game.

could be pretty much safe by the split.

  15. Only saw the first half but clear intent to pass. Don’t care if it went sideways or backwards, we kept the ball and can’t lose goals when we have the ball. Most of our long ball shit this year has resulted in loss of possession and having to defend, losing goals, and losing games.

we have 8 games against bottom 6 teams, should be 8 winnable. Good confidence booster today, both with win and shutout, with this kind of performance and attitude we can be a half decent team (not good, just not as shit as we’ve seen when we are long ball.)

thought the hoilett booking was a bit odd. 40 seconds in and yellow for a dive. Didn’t see the replay but didn’t think it was that bad. Also sets the ref up to hold the letter of the law for an entire game, hard to do.

  16. Good first half although we faded a little after the Motherwell goal. Hate var despite us benefitting, just ruins games, and another long delay. Amazing, when we pass the ball we’re not a bad side. Need the same start to the second where we clearly want it more.

Aye, I'd probably stick with the same lineup and hope that Barron of the Killie game turns up. It's essential that the triangle of three in that midfield perform together. The biggest problem we've got, which isn't unusual when in a rut and late in the season, is that we've got absolutely nothing on the bench to change it up when we're struggling. Duk is a lost cause until summer anyway, and Sokler hasn't really shown anything beyond one good game against the Hun. We've got no exciting young winger, or a big lad to change tactics.

What you said at the end I mentioned yesterday too. We don’t have a plan B, big unit up top, like a cosgrove, even Curtis main to mix it up, make defenders nervous and back off etc. Long ball doesn’t really suit us unless it’s into space as we lose the physical battle. I thought gueye was going to be that guy, turns out he may just be the Uber driver for that guy.
