0-0 at half, two poor team but rangers better so far. Rangers have missed two very good chances. One change at half please, Morris for okkels who has been very poor, maybe Jensen for devlin if heās injured. Ambrose score the winner?
-
Rob McLean said it right there, massive opportunity because rangers arenāt very good. Weāre not taking it, lack of real desire fight and passion for the game as far as I see. Do we want third?? dabbagh scores but clearly off, still 0-0.
-
Ffs. 1-0 right before HT, although var may disallow it. Too easy for rangers, we donāt have the stones for these games.
-
Started ok but fallen out of it. Rangers the better team just based on possession. We, much like a lot this season, cannot keep the ball, far too careless/clumsy. Rangers are poor and weāre not brave enough to take it to them. prob similar to last week? Dressers should have scored but not many chances so far.

THE OFFICIAL: "LET'S ALL LAUGH AT HEARTS"

We didnāt replace the coach who came with JT in the summer who quit earlier in the season, did we? Any idea if heās being replaced over summer. -

I would say heās a decent manager, and heās good at getting points with good teams when other teams are significantly weaker. I always felt the stars aligned for Mcinnes in the first few years, we had a good squad and some very good players. We made some good signings, perhaps mcinnesā man management/personality helped there. An in their prime with us Lewis, Logan, shinnie, McLean, Hayes, McGinn, jack, Ferguson, possibly Sam cosgrove, Mackey-Steven, maybe even flood too would all start on our current team. Probably McKenna too but that more the fact I rate knoester. Add a sprinkle of Maddison and Christie, we had some good players. At the same time every main competitor , hearts hibs rangers, utd, all were poor and got relegated. mcinnes got us credibility and we were a top 3 team again, delighted for that, but I still as I said, thought he underachieved and we should have won a trophy or two more. Then in the last three years I felt he showed that without as much talent and maybe stronger opponents, he was a very bang average and limited manager. hearts donāt have a great squad, heāll have to build, is that his strength? Does he have a solid core in place like he had with us? Will hearts have patience? And as said, will the transfer policy work for him. It will be his 4th spl team and heāll be no surprise to anyone. -

Mcinnes did a good job for us, but heās nothing special. He came to us when the Huns went to shit, and at a time we signed McLean Hayes mcginn, arguably three of the top players to have played in our league in a while (outside of the old firm), and a goal scorer in Rooney. He had a good squad and still only won one trophy, and that was arguably a primarily Craig brown squad. Im one of those who felt he underachieved with us and the resources he had, so Iām fine with mcinnes there, you know what you get and heās not an overly creative mind. -
Agreed, back to a strip every x years rather than something new every x months! At the same time, given I live abroad, I buy one every year as my āseason ticket.ā
-
I canāt get over the blue. Not a fan at all, if it was black and gold maybe, but blue and gold?? this is the away top, right, any idea if thereās a third strip/top?
-
Never been a fan of blue kits for us. Why blue????
-
Thing is, they arenāt hard players. And they are potentially the best āhardā weāve got, although I think tobers may be one. Wouldnāt call devlin anything more than a typical Scottish player, shinnie is a terror who gets stuck in, but not the hard bastard and presence of a Simpson, cooper, or Richardson in midfield. Iād compare shinnie to willo flood. Neither of our two have a physical presence.
-
Clear and obvious - is that still in the definition of a var decision? No way it was clear and obvious today.
-
Weāre a team full of nice guys and I fear jimmy has a nice guy approach too. Not saying the manager has to be a fergie, but back in the day we had a team full of players who could be nasty bastards, mcleish miller rougvie Simpson cooper in particular were hard as fuck. What I wouldnāt give for a modern day Peter Nicholas or Lee Richardson, class in the middle with bite. The current team melts in the sun. I didnāt see today but itās been mentioned before, would gogic do a job for us?
-
Been coaching youth football in the US for 30 years and coached/watched many a game here thatās better quality. Not saying MLS is significantly better, football for me as a whole is boring as fuck now and I donāt watch much. Iāll watch us and Scotland but thatās it. Money and over coaching has killed the game.
-
I did see the disallowed goal, interesting that okkels catches the volley perfectly. Surely if it hits nisbet the ball changes direction?? Did feel a foul on gogic could also have been called too, a little unfortunate there to say the least.
-
As much as Iām happy with topi at 10, I was surprised given his height and physicality gueye didnāt start. Not watching, not very good so far????
-
Been saying for months keskinen at 10! Bout time! Iām also one of the few with a positive opinion of Jensen, but good to see devlin back today. Heāll have that extra grit to do well today. 3-2 us, Clarkson topi nisbet

Aberdeen FC Player of the Year 2020/21
OrlandoDon replied to DonsTalk Admin's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Iād go with this for the current season, and for young player too! Shady mo???? Guy wasnāt a regular starter all year and while heās had a few big highlights, not a player of the year. And why are we doing this with 5 games left? None of our players have been consistent all year, Iād argue shinnie has been more consistent than shady, Iād even say knoester has had more impact since joining. Topi has been decent, but YPOTY? -
Donāt know turbullās style of play enough, is he a McGrath replacement or is he too similar to polvara??

SC Semi: Hearts vs Dons - 19/04/25 - 12:30PM

Plus with Anton Rogan on penalties these days we have a chance! -
We need a number 10, how about David Turnbull at Cardiff. Just been relegated to league one, cost them around 2 million, will they be cost cutting? Loan to buy or buy outright?? Would be a million plus but we were considering a million for okkels. Good player, needed position, and Scottish! Not sure heād be ready to come back north but you never know.
-
totally agree, palaversa has a bite and physicality polvara does not appear to have and st mirren away isnāt going to be pretty.
-
Is it manc that lives down there? How does this guy and his reputation compare to the winger from last summer, and the reputation mcgarry had??
-
Donāt agree, I thought we played very well. You have to factor we were playing the on form team who have beaten Celtic and rangers, plus hearts and united, on their run too. Oh, and us. Not sure we could have done more. We were suspect from crosses/corners as usual and they had 3 headers they could have scored, but we dominated possession, created chances, were defensively solid, and did a good job keeping Boyle quiet. morris is back to me thinking heās our super sub, and gueye is not quick thinking enough. Both good to bring off the bench. Iād start okkels and McGrath next week, but with those two not here next year, I feel these are two legit āmustā signings this summer. Our main priority for sure, provided we sign nisbet! its a palaversa polvara dilemma for me. Clarkson is playing well and deserves to start. Palaversa isnāt playing badly, covers a lot of ground, and sits in. Does a defensive job. Although Clarkson is deep too and has done more recently defensively. Polvara definitely offers drive from midfield and is much more attack minded. Another good performance yesterday. Think he scored a similar goal against hibs last year too, was unlucky with his well worked chance. Is jimmy brave enough to go with Clarkson and polvara next week?
