  1. Don’t disagree, but every central midfielder we have is flawed. I think palaversa has a physical presence that some of our others don’t have. Polvara shinnie sivert Clarkson are all frustrating too, none are ideal in the current situation. I also think shinnie has value in there but sivert isn’t mobile or disciplined enough for him to cover allowing Shinnie roam/push up. I wonder how close kjarten is to first team football. It’s an obvious problem area for us that the fact we didn’t sign anyone for this position has me curious as to how soon we see kjarten.
  2. Really curious to see if we stick with Clarkson. With three flair players ahead of him and two attacking full backs I do feel 6 and 8 need to be our heavy lifters. All of our CMs have their flaws, and as we’ve identified, the window didn’t solve the problem. maybe we go w sivert and palaversa? Hoping kjarten comes good and quickly to replace sivert, and would like to start seeing him play.
  3. Excited for this game, window is closed and no excuses now, season starts here. 3-1 us, lazetic 2 and palaversa. i believe karlsson is fit, he was simply an unused sub at bologna. Would like to see him and gyamfi on the left and lazetic up top. I’m more excited for him than nisbet to be honest. Not sure JT will go for a new left back left mid straight away, but milanovic has been travelling around the world so we maybe topi on the right, and I think maybe devlin is suspended??
  4. Agreed. Miller and Bowie playing 15 mins has benefit, plus there is plenty of experience around them. At 2-0 I don’t think they’d cost us. No reason at all to play dykes for sure, and I’d like to think miller could have handled the situation instead of McLean. While I understand why, Clarke does himself no favors and could have been more forward thinking.
  5. Need the Greek’s to score and draw. As was mentioned before, a result away from home against one of the better teams is gold. I suppose the Danes are motivated after dropping points to us.
  6. This is the banana skin game, I think we’ll all take any sort of win. Think we’ll see doak in for dykes, Christie in the middle with Ferguson, mcginn and doak wide and mctominnay at 10 behind Adams. Or dykes in and not Adams, but I think only one change. Ferguson has more of a goal threat than gilmour so unless Ferguson has any sort of fitness issue I think he starts. Same reason re goals that I take Christie ahead of Gilmour. Thinking 2-1 us…hopefully. Wont complain if it’s a bigger win. Adams and mctom.
  7. Not really. That result is the exception not the norm.
  8. I think the Greece Denmark score will tell us quite a lot too. Is it a mediocre Denmark that we should have beaten, and opportunity lost, or did we get a really good result and they recover by beating Greece. Ideally it’s a draw.
  9. It’s easy to say if we’d been braver, what does that mean? Be more attack minded, push forward more? But then do you get exposed at the back and lose a goal? We also consider a few of these boys aren’t totally match sharp or match fit as they haven’t played much of late, and it’s two games in 4 days. Do we sit in or push up and get back more? home and away is psychological but not fully. Same reason I’d prefer Aberdeen playing at pittodrie vs away to st mirren, fans, stadium get up, field size, certainly weather and temperature, travel, hotels, wet/dry pitch, length of grass, even type and brightness of floodlights at night, all a factor. Plus home dressing room, food, and home comforts. All adds up to something. We’re not that different to the team that beat the Danes 2-0 at hampden, different mentality and performance, and a home environment, and given we play them last we may have a very similar need to win.
  10. He’s coming back from injury again, not sure how match fit he even is.
  11. Read that frame impressed too. Lazetic scored a panenka penalty haha!
  12. Anyone at the game? Keen for some info on the new boys.
  13. From what I’ve seen to date, and it’s a very small sample size, aouchiche doesn’t know quite where to play, and we’re not certain what to do with him. He roams a lot, and we need a 10 more central and wiser. Put Armstrong behind lazetic/nisbet and I think he’s the missing piece and fills that central space, aouchiche will only benefit from his knowledge. I think Armstrong will be more settling and disciplined in many ways. I think milanovic benefits playing with Armstrong inside and nisbet up top, instead of two young guys trying to figure things out and prove themselves. as you say, trying not to get my hopes up with karlsson but when you look at the falkirk game I think topi had 2 chances and milanovic 2 first half, most cutting in, no goals. Based on the highlights I think we’ve got a guy who finds the net. international break is good for us, gives us time to train and gel, don’t think too many are away too. Certainly excited for the livi game.
  14. Yup. Not really what we need in my opinion other than Scottish and experienced. Guess we’ll find out!
  15. To be fair to him, he is younger than shinnie and nilsen! is he still an attacking mid or does he sit deeper these days??
  16. Not quite the central mid I thought we needed….if this is legit!?!?
  17. Some cracking goals. Pretty much a right footed inverted winger, certainly moves ahead of topi on the left. Wouldn’t mind topi on the right anyway, although i think milanovic has played better than topi season to date. good two weeks to get the squad to train and gel, really intrigued by karlsson and lazetic in particular. What kind of shape is nisbet in??
  18. Not being greedy, but since we didnt sign a central midfielder, I really would like to see what Kjarten can do. We have nisbet and lazetic fighting for the 9, yengi as backup, and 5 competing for the 3 attacking mids, 6 if you include polvara. Decent depth.
  19. I havent seen Jesper quoted as saying he’s looking forward to developing a strong partnership with yengi? not a bad window overall, guess we saved Turnbull until January!
  20. Re wages, wasn’t the same said about nisbet? If there’s a relationship with jimmy, win bonuses, goal/assist bonuses, signing in fee etc, there’s a way to make it work.
  21. Him and Turnbull. Pull those two off and wholly fuck! Especially when nisbet frame and Turnbull are Scottish. Funds from Morris gueye and Boyd, plus give bologna the fergie sell on, and maybe a few quid more, it’s doable. In fantasy land most likely. Both are still young enough for a bigger transfer down the road too. Unlikely but spend 5 mins on the hat you get more than excited!
  22. I still haven’t given up on Alan Gow!
  23. Kinda my thinking. Sokler has had his chances, time to move him on, hale is a good replacement for Sokler and dabbagh. Lazetic replaces nisbet and we have Ambrose and yengi. Like it or not, yengi isn’t going anywhere and is in our ‘3 striker’ front line. very small glimpse but lazetic looked decent yesterday.
  24. Curious to see what today brings. Has to be at minimum 3. Winger, CM, and forward. I’d be happy with 3 loans rather than 3 panic buys. curious to hear the responses, would you be happier with hale or nisbet? I will be disappointed if it’s nisbet tbh, I’m not a fan. allan Campbell, Mikey Johnson, and hale???
