If only it worked like the nba over here, we could give them $100k plus Ambrose Morris Macdonald and Duk. Maybe even mcgarry as a sweetener. Win win!
-
That’s how see it. Sivert is my concern, not shinnie. I feel shinnie is where he was last year during our poor form where he needs and tries to do too much. Sivert’s poor form has sucked shinnie in. At the start of the year Shinnie was outstanding, and I think that player is still alive and well!
-
Masked that, can’t edit. Fully expecting a couple more transfers, maybe more, this window. New guys have to be given time and rushes in for hearts and rangers away is a tough ask. McGrath, Mackenzie, McDonald away, who else?? I’d say duk and Ambrose (loan) too but we’re already thin up top.
-
Be patient. We haven’t signed a 9 yet and cormack is spending money!
-
We discussed squad overhaul a number of times in the last 3 plus years. I think the early season form marked that but it’s well over due. I fully expect a few to leave in this window.
-
Way i see it is we have Thelin for 3 years. At least. We asked him to commit and he said it’s long term, we have to have given him guarantees. We’re obviously and clearly backing him financially. We’ve sacked glass Goodwin and Robson in quick succession, I think talking about jimmy going is pointless. And I don’t think we should, doesn’t help and we have to accept it may get worse to get better. We had a shit squad/team when jimmy came in and his immediate success papered over that. There’s work to be done and jimmy is here for a while. Wish him well and accept he’s being given time.

Exactly why Morris was on the shit list for a long time. Easy to look good on a thriving confident team, but our league requires having stones to fight, work, and be brave. That’s not Morris at all. Or a number of our players. seems like teams know how to play sivert in midfield now, less time and space and he’s not overly two footed or skillful, or quick. He’s no central defender that’s for sure. He also makes a lot of mistakes and gives the ball away. If JT is honest sivert’s days as a starter are probably numbered. Maybe he’s gassed having not had a post season break, but he’s certainly not the influence he was the first dozen games. Three year contract for a 33 yr old is a little worrying now.

Never saw it but sounds like we were pretty shit? Any positives?

Getting excited. Mikey Johnson coming too?
-
No clue what to expect. They are hot and cold and our form has to change at some point. Don’t think we’ll will but I do see a draw a possibility. I’d be inclined to play polvara at the back with tobers, he seems more mobile than sivert, plus sivert can be more influential in the midfield. Would like topi up top with McGrath on the right of a sivert palaversa shinnie three, okkels left. 2-2, topi and McGrath.

Interesting listening to the Jensen interview, almost sounds like the danish stewart mckimmie, a right back who is comfortable at left back, played in midfield, and I’d assume can fill in at central defense as needed. Exactly what our squad needs, provided he can play! I’ll say he’s like sivert and okkels in a sense, while he didn’t play for jimmy he played against him and in the same league so is a known quantity. the spurs loanee is a right footed left sided central defender with pace and good in the air from what I read. Again, sounds like what we need. And who knows, maybe he’s good and pulls a clarkson and signs on permanently after a successful loan. weve splashed cash big time and all looks good on paper as wee toon says. I am sure all of these players are signed and sold on the miovski mindset, 2-3 years then punt to a big league for good money and fame and fortune. Kudos to cormack, spending money and relatively early in the window. Then again, he splashed on Richardson morris and Ambrose

Sound like it, fingers crossed we seal the deal on a 9!
-
So you're saying a swap deal is more realistic?
-
Nothing more on Jensen, or Isak coming from Newcastle?
-
From what I’ve read Alex Jensen can play right/left back so that helps there, provided we sign him. I also don’t think gueye is a center forward so doesn’t factor in to our needs there. From what I remember, gueye played the roaming 10 role ahead of clarkson. Certainly hoping he comes back there and performs, much needed in that position too. any health update there??
-
Bagged a goal today, penalty. Would be nice to pick up some sell on this month!
-
Can we assume left sided central defender? while another wide midfield player would be nice, we have Morris topi and okkels now, and attacking center mid I’m actually intrigued to see if pape can be a decent 10 with competition from clarkson. A number 9 is essential in this window, but the rest can be summer. as for going out, Macdonald, duk, McGrath this window, maybe Mackenzie?? Ambrose out on loan?
-
Ha, wrote this post above but didn’t post, never saw Rico’s post until now. Think mcgarry gets the participation trophy, he’s trying. I’ll also second that I hope duk goes asap, lost my patience with him long ago. Head down and dribble was unacceptable about 18 months ago, guy is dumb as rocks.
-
I think it’s easy to pick holes at mcgarry as we all know he’s not very good, but recently he’s been terrified to push forward. Thought he played more on the front foot today and got up the park, but obviously that leaves space behind. You expect that and it happens with Makenzie too. That’s what covering defenders are for, plus the holding mids. I’d rather he played this way than played scared, and I’d rather play him who is trying than Mackenzie who is clearly off his game and either unsettled or focused on a move away and a new known or unknown club.
-
Agree on that. I’ll get shot down but I’d be inclined to play him over an incredibly off form Mackenzie and until our left back situation is resolved, either with a new signed contract or new signing.
-
I wouldn’t say we were garbage. Thought we were pretty solid at the back but, especially in the second half, very poor going forward. If we are to play a 4-2-3-1 we need a 10 between the two holding and the forward who is attack minded and always wanting the ball in an attacking central position. Clarkson and McGrath aren’t involved enough for me in that area. We also need a 9 that makes defenders think twice. Miovski forced two central defenders to sit and even make the full backs think twice about pushing on. Our forwards cause so little concern, plus I hate that we drop so deep, almost having no 9. thought tobers looked decent plus I wouldn’t mind seeing polvara given a run in center mid with shinnie or palaversa. Although I think last year he also did ok as the attacking central mid, maybe give him a run there?
-
As Stevie tosh pointed out towards the end, we have no forwards. No no 9/attacking threat up top. Makes so many things harder as a result. not a bad game, at least stops the rot. oh, nae a bad save to be fair!
-
Getting close to Peter Ambrose time! 1-0 the big loon!
-
I’d yank nisbet for Morris and put topi up top, mobile and aggressive, he needs a goal and he’s much more dangerous than nisbet. Morris will give a good attacking option plus make penrice think twice about pushing so far forward.
