Didnāt see much and didnāt expect much, but I suppose I expected a poorer result. It did seem we appeared to be livelier and more energetic, plus I did think Kjarten has potential. As has been said, very much a holding mid, but I think he has ability. We also created and missed chances. as has been said, we have such a squad imbalance thereās only so much you can change. Surprised lobban didnāt play, I wonder if we consider dropping Milne and playing devlin and polvara with knoester. Lobban an Jensen as wing backs, I just donāt rate gyamfi. Kjarten and shinnie with Clarkson at 10. Maybe adil and Armstrong with a forward, does it matter who? No width so no real point in going away from the back 3 at present, a very limited 9, signings def needed.

Aouchiche injured. Karlsson on the bench is interesting.

Donāt agree. āOldā football the manager did everything. Now the manager is the coach, being asked to spend all of his time doing what he does best, coach. There is not one model for every club, and the manager role can vary slightly. Other folks do the scouting and signing of players. You also sign a manager who aligns with your/the clubs philosophy, which is correct in my option. You referenced Amorim, a very bizarre hire because he didnāt align. A manager/coach should know his role and is not bigger than the club. its how it is with most sports in the states, the manager is āonlyā the coach with the old manager job split between other āexperts.ā

I donāt really think so, we have a number of players like that. I think heās just meaning that for every strachan and weir we need a cooper and Simpson. he was clear that players will be going soon, wonder who?? Our loaners are aouchiche and karlsson, both who, like it or not, do contribute. Hope they stay and are more productive under leven/new manager.

Apologies for posting the video in the other chain, just saw this. Heās really interesting, and I do like his take on Scottish identity. Hope that promising David Watson! does suggest jimmy was too nice and we werenāt even trying hard enough. My question was fitness as we donāt really press and that was one of the core attributes of our identity. wonder if thereās a place for shinnie in the new coaching staff?

Good 14 min interview, clearly been reading my posts over the last few months, we need to be more Scottish. Allan Campbell in by the end of the week?

Going to jump to the defense of Dave Cormack here. Few out there blaming him for yet another bad hire/quick sacking. The club were not in a great financial shape when he joined the club, no training facility, a failing stadium, and other than Mcinnes (which coincided with significant financial issues in Scottish football and all of our league opponents except Celtic being relegated, and obviously rangers dying), weāve arguably had 2 somewhat successful managers in smith/scott and calderwood since fergie. The rest have been poor. since Willie was manager (could argue he was successful I suppose) weāve had (not including interim) - Aitken - 2 years 9 months Alex miller - 13 months Heggarty - 5 months (may have been intern) ebbe - 3 years 4 months (nearly relegated) Paterson - 1 yr 5 months Calderwood - 4 yrs 11 months mcghee - 1 yr 5 months brown - 2 yrs 4 months mcinnes - 7 yrs 11 months Glass - 11 months goodwin - 11 months robson - 1 yr Thelin - 1 yr 7 months Since cormack took over the game day experience seems to be excellent (based on what I see on red tv), the team are more connected with the fans (maybe a Thelin thing), and in current modern football heās given managers time then pulled the plug when itās not worked out. Heās made significant investment with the training ground, and we now have a director of football. Heās invested in the playing staff. Look at the sackings of Martin and now Nancy, cormack hasnāt been that heartless. I donāt particularly understand the hiring of glass, and while Goodwin, Robson, and even warnock werenāt my preferred choice,s, I understood the logic. Heās also been strategic in the firings, giving time to qualify for Europe and assess squads. Many wanted Robson as manager, an inside man and fans favorite, an he was willing to hire internally and give him a chance. curious to know what potential owners out there would come to Aberdeen and give more and do a better job. Rangers and Celtic appear a mess behind the scenes, I dont think we have it too badly and should maybe appreciate what we do have. Not an easy job finding quality owners and successful managers.
-
I do think quality of football played will be a major factor. And someone with significant management experience. if John mcglynn was 43 and not 63 Iād take him!
-
What makes you say that?
-
Think thatās the feeling of most. Nice guy, just didnt work out.
-
Iām not as sold on Keskinen as some. Reminds me of connor McLennan. Got potential but very low footie intelligence. Got better touch than Connor, but Connor was that bit quicker. Regardless, is he really any better??
-
Plays for the only team weāve scored against! Gets good reviews, can play right and left center as well as LB.

Canāt find the poking fun at me quote from the last day or two and Iām ready for abuse, but I think allan Campbell is clubless at present. 27, shinnie type midfielder I think? Wasnāt very good at utd from what I recall, but worth a trial/look? Obviously heās without club for a reason, but if he could find the Motherwell form could contribute more than some. Would certainly be motivated to do well. whats everyoneās take on Aouchiche? Prob now our best midfielder? Him and a Rama type behind an Armstrong/david Watson in the 4-2-3-1? Worth the 1.5? Been one of the few positives this season perhaps?

I think you can add a few more, plenty have proven they arenāt good enough. Ambrose yengi, plus sivert wont get any better, I think topi can go (maybe best of a bad lot?), prob milanovic tooā¦.although I do wonder what would happen if milanovic was played on the left and got the Morris treatment, basically told to beat him on the outside every time. Heās not got Morris pace but I think heās quick enough. Polvara has had plenty chances and isnāt good enough, Vinny isnāt quick of physically imposing enough, I dont think molloy is very good, Jensen perhaps too. Gyamfi as well probably, plays with lead boots regularly. id keep Clarkson palaversa bilalovic Kjarten, Armstrong needs the heavy lifters around him and played at 10. forwards itās hard to tell, cosgrove looked shite quite a lot, but given service and support banged in the goals. I think lazetic has potential, but I donāt know what to do with nisbet. I just donāt rate him.
-
Other than glass, thereās clear reasons why we hired the managers, they just didnāt work out. I donāt think Goodwin or robsonās failing for example are purely on cormack and that weāre a poorly run club.
-
Said it before, and itās certainly speculation, but Motherwell will finish 4th at best and wonāt win the cup. I donāt see him doing anything amazing at Motherwell, and he may even lose a player or two in January. Weāre a bigger job, bigger funds, greater chance of success. Better job long term.
-
Thatās fair. i think weāve got cormack who is trying to take us into modern football, Milne Donald etc we were a small family club. Commercially, finally getting in lutz whichās prob too late for jimmy. Other than glass, donāt think cormack has majorly fucked up with managers, it just hasnt worked out. I also donāt see endless people wanting cormackās job and bringing funds to the club. people forget, Mcinnes came in with the foundation of the team and squad already there. Each of these managers has had to rebuild and the recruitment has been poor. Hiring lutz may improve that area. beating a dead horse, but other than the Motherwell guy, who else is out there? Every manager is risk, at least we have seen what the Motherwell guy can do in our league.
-
Dont agree. Think we are a well organized and well run club. We dont want to sack a manager every year so gave jimmy time. Thatās fair. But Jimmyās time is up and no shame in admitting that, he was backed and funded. Maybe the Lutz position came too late for him, but thereās little to suggest jimmy turns this around. Weāre a mess defensively and in attack. not looking forward to the Huns double header.
-
Iād really like to know why cormack keeps jimmy. What has improved in the last 18-20 months? weāre an awful watch and have been for most of jimmyās tenure. And we rarely win. Cup final papered over a vastly disappointing season, and this season we have been piss poor most games. Even the recent wins weāve been very fortunate to win. itās time to move on, sadly. We gae jimmy more than enough time. No shame in moving on.
-
Itās a shambles, we are all over the place. Totally lost discipline.
-
Desperation. Itās the worst and most obvious desperation weāve seen from a manager in recent times. Week in week out itās hoping something will stick. Thatās how we ended up with a back 3. We have to move on, the fan love and support will start to drop for sure.

Knoester Milne and lobban, rest I donāt care.
